Time: Era of Black and White (no precise timekeeping system developed)
Information
In the Past - Era Transitions - Moving to the Modern River
Many many years ago, there was the prior Era of Gray. It had ended similarly with the darkness covering the ground from astronomical events. The Platta in these times lived simpler lives, but it was not without incident. The mediator of all (gray) in this time was more active in the lives of every child around making sure the knowledge of the past was well communicated. The symbolism gathered from the eclipse made the Platta know it was time to prepare for painful times. As the mediator of all had phrased it then, similar to now, there was a time of extremes approaching. In the coming years, there would be a drought. The land grew drier, and water became scarcer.
In an attempt to resolve this, the Platta temporarily became nomadic once again to seek a more steady source of water. After a year or so of traveling, the present's spot near the river was found. Fish was more plentiful here, and so it seemed like a nice place. Although some Platta had died on the journey, and grief was lingering, this place showed hope. The first fish caught was examined in the grass near for its symbolism. From the Era of Gray to the Era of Black and White, this fish had shown the new era was to be of Green, a time of great life.
It would be more years before other colors had their era, including red for addressing new threats, yellow when some trees were slowly cut to make predators less common, purple to work with the procedures of organizing the wood, and blue for the study of the land around as safety had shown itself. Once these had completed, a new Era of Gray had begun. Not much time later arrives to where the Platta first showed themselves here. Of course, this is a summary.
