I see a total of four players so far including myself. That's good to start an OOC! I'll get on it! :)
Bump. This is remaining independent under myself.
PM! :D
I honestly had no idea anyone was working on something like this! That's a mighty coincidence. I haven't been very active on the Guild in a year or so, and only started lurking about a week ago. So I mean, maybe we can collab or combined our efforts/ideas? :)
(Based on the US TV Show & Novel by William Brinkley: "The Last Ship")

The idea is that the world has suffered from a catastrophic viral infection. It spreads via the air by being near or in contact with someone who is infected. It is high contagious, nearly 99% lethal, and only a very select few are immune to it (due to gene mutations at birth that somehow left a very few lottery winners). Players will play their nation, in reality a vessel at sea. Be it a luxury yacht, a naval vessel, a cruise ship, a tanker, or a submarine even. Since we are out at sea, we can assume that none of us have gotten sick. Our goal is to survive, finding supplies at sea or on land (where the danger of infection is high), as well as making contact with other survivors. Rebuild the world, or eliminate the competition through "war", it is your choice.

Any takes on an idea similar to this? There will be limiting factors and pros/cons to each class as follows:

1. Naval Surface Warfare vessel, light (i.e. Destroyer, Frigate, Cruiser)

2. Naval Surface Warfare vessel, heavy (i.e. Aircraft Carrier, Freighter, Amphibious Transport Dock (LPD))

3. Cruise Ship

4. Commercial Freighter/Tanker/Research Vessel

5. Fishing Vessel

6. Yacht (Luxury, Super)

7. Sail

8. Naval Sub-surface Warfare Vessel, light (Attack submarine)

9. Naval Sub-surface Warfare Vessel, heavy (Ballistic Missile Submarine)

Around four to six players.
I also am confused where the "late antiquity" came from. I said we can add Muslims and all, but the late antiquity is too far from classic Roma. I enjoy the politics, workings, and cultural tones of classical early Empire. Tiberius and Octavian era, essentially. Though we can still keep the map, since we are doing a bit of an alternate universe. I'd say a good time period would be between 15 BC and AD 5.
@VilageidiotxI'm having some set backs in writing an OOC with work and all. But I love the map. I'll keep you all updated. Hope to have it done by the end of the weekend.

I will be GMing as Caesar's Rome. I will like one other "Co-GM", more like a simple Moderator, to play the Eastern Empire.
Alright, alright. Enough pointless bickering. Daddy's back. :p

I'll cook up an OOC for the Roman Idea in the next three or four days, PM me your interest and I'll link you to it when it's up!
@VilageidiotxI can do something along the lines of a detailed history of the past century or so, draw us up a map, and design a political system, as well as create a few nations that need leaders... As well as divide up the factions of the Empire, and list their traits for people to apply their own leaders and taste to. If detail is what you want, you've come to the right guy. I enjoy detail just as much, if not more.
@Dinh AaronMkI'd say as far as option three goes, we could make up a bit more of an accessible political system to make it easy for new people to Roman politics to play. I can draft up a political system and throw it out there if it helps.

As for you requiring Earth, I see no reason why Earth would not be relevant in a Milky Way Galaxy-set NRP. :)

@VilageidiotxI agree. We could definitely throw an Islam-themed nation into the mix, if you'd like. :D
