Current It's been three years since we lost Polymorpheus, a dear friend. It's felt like a lot longer, that time. I still think about Poly every so often, and how I miss them so very much. I won't forget them.

Bio

uhhhh, hi there

I am here and I sorta exist so yes this is my ‘bio’ and it will probably be rather brief and suck and be sloppy, just like me.
So, without further ado..

stuff about me

Most people call me Barti or Bart as well as a few other things since it’s just easier or meaner than the actual thing - I invite you to do so as well.

I’m a 23-year-old (bday June 20th!) Texan who enjoys thunderstorms and rain far too much, and likes anime, running, metal music, and copious amounts of DRUGS candy, among many other cool things - like DnD and MTG.

I enjoy group rps as well as 1x1s. For groups I have what I think is a decent array of interests, most of it being profusely weeb-y. I like Fantasystuffs (Modern especially), supernatural themes, pretty much all Japanese stuff - including historically accurate settings - as well as general dark/grim themes, comedic slice of life trash, academy rps, unique plots, etc. etc. As for 1x1s I pretty much do romance, but I can do non-romantic stuff too if you give me something to work with xP
The only genre I find myself not entirely comfortable with is really sci-fi stuff, but, if the plot/idea catches me enough it can hold my interest. Oh, and my writing level is high casual to low advanced.

I’m a sarcastic, snarky, bipolar-depressed, degenerate garbage can, but generally people seem to like me (I don’t know why in the hot hell you would) - but if you would also like to be my friendo lemme know.
I don’t bite.
Usually owo xd rawr

welppp...I guess that’s okay for now
thanks for reading, you potatoes

Interest Check Thread

The world of Pokémon is an always changing and evolving place - one filled with innumerable experiences that one could only dream to see in totality. While many different kinds of people explore the world of Pokémon, for many different kinds of reasons, one thing always remains true: the adventure always begins somewhere.

Over the past few years, the leading faculties in various cartography and exploration fields have discovered a number of landmasses never seen before - stirring excitement within the citizens of neighboring regions and prompting a number of trips to and from the nearest islands of the group.
The largest of the small cluster has been deemed Panmia Island - and it is from where a whole host of adventures will stem.

And where do you fit into all this? Well, that's easy: You're one of the lucky few who was selected through various promotional programs to help map out this new region. Whether you won the trip from the back of a cereal box, a newspaper clipping, a television program, or any of the many offers flying throughout the Pokémon regions, you've been chosen for this great opportunity amongst only a hundred or so other individuals.

Are you ready to be a Pokémon Pioneer? Are you ready to...make history?

Our adventure begins at the end of a short cruise, where our vessel has spent the past six or so days orbiting the southern-most half of the newfound region. Everyone on the crew has found themselves absolutely enthralled by the shores of their soon-to-be playground of sorts. And soon-to-be it very much is, as today is the day our vessel ports at Panmia Island and we will finally be released to do our due diligence in discovering a new world. And who are we? Well, let's see:

I see we've acquired a good bit of interest in a pretty short time! Very nice. I'm excited to see what you folks come up with for characters c:
I'll be putting up the OOC tomorrow probably, at this rate. If anybody has any questions feel free to ask here or PM. Or in the OOC if you'd like to wait for some reason.

Also @Yankee, I very much enjoyed the vibes of our last Pokémon rp debut together, even if it didn't really come to fruition - so I am more than willing to reserve you a position here for whenever you'd be willing to join!

As a forenote, in case we garner any more interest than we already have, I will be accepting sheets based on how well I believe the writer will mesh with the others, among other criteria. So don't feel rushed, and don't feel as though I've singled you out if your cs isn't chosen.

In any case, I'm very glad you're all here :D

Hello all! Welcome to my interest check! I've been a bit off-and-on with the site recently, but I've just been craving a Pokémon adventure with friends for so long and felt like I couldn't hold it in anymore - so here we are!

This interest check, as you can see above, is about a group of people who each receive a very rare and special invitation to explore the newest discovered Pokémon region- which has yet to be named!
The RP is a Slice-of-life adventure shared amongst our OCs in which they can form bonds, discover Pokémon they don't have where they come from, even potentially new Pokémon regional variants(should we decide to include such a thing), new environments, and more!

This will be a rather directionless experience, with myself serving as a pseudo-GM for the decisions that require it. I do, of course, have a vision for this setting, so I have many ideas in mind for how things will work - but I am very open to having ideas offered and questions asked, so fire away!

The reason I've decided to put this RP in the advanced section is simply because I'm looking for dedicated players. You don't have to have an impeccable vocabulary or write 7 paragraphs per post(though these things are definitely not frowned upon), but you are expected to stick around for a long-running adventure. I would very much enjoy that, yes.
As an important side note, I reckon one-week soft-deadline for posts would be appropriate.

Without further ado I suppose I should mention the basees with which we will begin our character developments..

I'll be accepting around 6-7 players potentially, as I don't want to overwhelm myself with activity, just to make things clear! I don't know if I'll attract enough attention to warrant choosing between CSs, but if I do then it is what it is, sadly. I reserve the right to deny access to problem individuals and/or trolls.
Also, ignore how messy the RAW is for this CS. Or else. >:[

I'm a bit scatterbrained and this is my first interest check in recent memory, so the check may be a bit sketchy, but that's alright! ...r-right?
I probably shouldn't, but I shall. If I can come up with a concept I like, of course.
I haven't actually played much of the game, but the premise of it is rather intriguing to me, so here's to hoping I get it right uwu
I'll be working on getting my post out tomorrow, likely.
Neutral for NPC Merc. Neutral for team leader. No thanks for the dice, but if it's a factor im fine with it.
Looks pretty dope
Vesper Laurier
Mentions: None ([@N/A])
Location: Apartment Complex Lobby

The tattooed fingers of Vesper's left hand drummed uneasily against her bicep as she leaned against a wall in the lobby of her apartment complex, alongside a number of other inhabitants. Through her head ran an erratic stream of thoughts- not like when she'd gone too long without a drink, no- but now because she was trying to come up with any sane explanation for what was happening outside.

The day had started normally enough. Having been a day off for the girl, she decided to sleep in until afternoon arrived, at which point she lazed around her apartment, watching TV and munching on lucky charms cereal. Her day went by uninterrupted as usual, her doodling of prospective tattoo ideas accompanied only by the quiet sound of the TV in the corner and rock music playing slightly louder from the radio next to her. But the unbroken routine wouldn't remain so for long.
As the radio tune simmered down to an end, Vesper heard a sound which instantly made her skin crawl.

A blood-curdling scream pierced the air, reaching Vesper's ears through the street-facing window of what she called her living room. She did a double take towards the window, her hair standing on end as she felt a chill run through her. She'd heard a similar scream only a couple times- when someone was being robbed or something. But this time it was different. It wasn't just a scream rooted in fear, it felt...more than terrified. The sense of dread that such a sound sent crawling through her skin was.. unnerving, to understate it. But what may have been more concerning was that it wasn't just a singular scream. It was several. And they were accompanied by the sharp sound of glass shattering, and even the deep, wincing groan of metal being crushed. Vesper stood up and dropped her doodling pad, her gaze set on the seemingly now-opaque window.

Normally she would have passed the screaming off as some sort of robbery and mark herself uninterested, seeing as there was little she'd be able to do to help - but something felt...wrong. She hurriedly walked up to the window and looked down at the street below- or at least, she would've could she see two feet past the glass. It seemed as though a thick fog had rolled into the area. That wasn't particularly concerning in and of itself, but it seemed this fog was more dense than any she'd ever seen. Though seeing it did help to lower her heartrate a bit. Of course. Someone had just crashed their car. The fog made it difficult to see, so it was only natural. The internal explanation did only a little to calm the almost-queasy feeling in her gut. She drifted closer to the window, almost touching the glass with her ear as she listened further, hoping that anything she'd be able to hear would reassure the normalcy of the situation. There was nothing- no engine desperately turning to function, no screams of pain.

She was torn away from her internal thoughts as the next song on the radio started up. She backed away from the window and turned to shut off the radio. Vesper wasn't sure what to do. What could she help by going down to the lobby and trying to figure out what happened? There were others much more qualified for such a thing. But even still. It felt wrong to sit in her apartment alone after hearing the awful shrieks she just had. She decided to put on something a little more modest than just her underwear, slipping on some sweatpants and throwing on a grey t-shirt plus her leather jacket. She grabbed her keys and paused, looking back at the window before leaving the apartment and locking the door behind her.

And now here she was, standing in the lobby with a bunch of strangers. It seemed nobody really knew what was going on either, it seemed to her. But everyone looked like they were on edge. And perhaps for good reason. The dark-haired girl watched as the others talked hushedly amongst themselves, the worry in their voices and postures evident. Some were more vocal than others, though.

Vesper was content to keep her racing thoughts to herself, still trying to come up with something- anything. What could possibly be going on? It seemed one particularly brave individual- a brown-haired man looking to be a mechanic of some sort- was willing to leave the relative safety of the lobby to find out. Part of her didn't find that a particularly great idea- they had no idea what was going on. But would they ever find out if they didn't try? She held back a warning, shifting a bit closer to the door from her further back position in the lobby.
