Kazuya Takagi
Uniform: Mist Sparrow
Onmyoji: Zero Point
Ability: Kazuya's Onmyoji allows him to manipulate inertia, granting him control over movement itself. Kazuya gets faster over time, and once he reaches a certain point, he can temporarily maneuver through time.
Ability Progression:
(1st Phase)
-High Stepping (signature attack. blindingly fast kick combination)
-Motion Refusal (slows an attack in motion)
-Zero Point (max speed reached, minor chronokinesis available temporarily)

(2nd Phase)
-Trampling Gait (enhanced High Stepping)
-Balance of Power (absorbs kinetic energy and stores it for use)
-Appeal Denial (completely nullifies any attack in motion)
-Zero Point Beyond (reaches max speed faster, Zero Point lasts longer, unlocks minor chronokinesis outside of Zero Point)

(3rd Phase)
-March of Pomp and Circumstance (extremely powerful version of Trampling Gait)
-Inertia Override (grants allies temporary use of his speed abilities excluding Zero Point)
-Zero Point: Infinity (chronokinesis can be used in tandem with his inertia control, can freely move through time, control aspects of physics)
@Blackmist16.....DO IT.

We're gonna make Jim the Janitor fuckin canon
"Salarymen" is a humorous action fantasy involving The Company, an organization that sells paper on the surface, but in reality operate as a clandestine group of Onmyo Exorcists who banish ghosts, exorcise demons, and if the situation demands it, kill humans. The setting is a near-future Shinjuku, Japan; around 2032.

You can choose any position in The Company EXCEPT Chairman, CEO, or Director.

The Company is engaging in their mysterious "Reform Program", taking criminals slated for incarceration or death and giving them a chance at freedom. The Reform Program has an incredibly high mortality rate, with only two men having completed it. The first of these two men is the current CEO.

To beat back the dark, Employees are given a talisman in the form of an accessory or tattoo, which then supercharges the wielder's *Ki and equips their *Uniform.

~KEY TERMS~
*KI: The energy of the Mortal, Astral, and Void Planes. Grants life and spiritual power to all things living, dead, and in-between. All humans can use Ki, but only the truly talented can use it for combat purposes such as Exorcism.
*UNIFORM: When activated by a person with substantial Ki, mystical articles of clothing will replace the wielder's original clothes. Uniforms shield the wielder from all damage from the Mortal Realm and reduces damage from the Void and Astral Planes. Uniforms are unique in form and function to each wielder.

A person's Ki can manifest itself however you choose; however certain NPCs are going to outrank and outmuscle you, so be aware of the overarching narrative and try to be creative without being overpowered. An example character, my OC, will be posted in the thread.
Name: Jin Saionji
Age: 24
Class: Genmu
Ability: Gravitational Manipulation
Kit Name: "Sparrowhawk"
Deck: Sky Variant, Model X, Rush Method

Looks:

Brief Bio: Jin grew up in the slums of San Angeles to a single mother and a father he knew close to nothing about aside from "it was his time to go". Despite his destitute upbringing, Jin is optimistic, charismatic and jovial; choosing to make the best out of most bad situations. However, due to the same upbringing, Jin is cautious and distrusting of those with wealth or status, and usually takes his time getting to know someone before he fully trusts them. His dream is to become a Soarer to inspire the youth of San Angeles to achieve their goals, no matter how bleak the future may seem. Jin operates pretty neutral, but when pushed too far negatively, Jin's inner grudges take hold, and he becomes laser-focused on ruining the lives of those who wronged him one way or another. When this happens, Jin is surprisingly very calculated and cunning.
Soar is a fantasy racing story set in a futuristic world that has become enamored by a new sport known as "Soaring". Participants known as "Soarers" race each other on land, air, or sea on tracks that are unique to the way you're traveling and change with every race. The full world details are going to be outlined here so that people creating their OCs will have an idea of what they want to be and how they want to design their characters.

SOARING: A sport invented after Anbu Igurashi created the first Kit around 30 years ago. Soaring is a high speed race that takes place on land, air, or sea where racers must navigate winding courses and make split second decisions due to the sharp corners and winding pathways that change with every race. It is an extremely popular sport worth billions, but it is one that excludes those of lower incomes and backgrounds, which is a point frequently used by social activists and politicians.

KIT: An exosuit designed for traversing at high speeds no matter the terrain. The creator, Anbu Igurashi, originally created them with the intent of shortening travel time and distance between countries for people who wished to see their loved ones, as he was always away from home. Seeing his invention used for such a creative purpose filled his heart with joy, but as it became perverted by money and politics, he became dejected and reclusive over time.

GENMU: Slang term for "Genetic Mutation". A terrorist attack 50 years ago accidentally unleashed a biological weapon that irradiated an entire city, causing its inhabitants to suffer from genetic mutations that granted them supernatural abilities. Fearing the threat that these people could cause, the Homestead Government issued a declaration that all Genmu are forbidden by law to use their abilities and are forced to remain in the irradiated city of San Angeles, now known as the Badlands. Any Genmu illegally crossing the Borderline or using their abilities while legally across the Borderline will be subject to imprisonment or death. In recent years, these laws and those who enacted them have waned in influence, allowing select few Genmu to obtain their own political and in some cases militaristic powers. Out of fear of war, the Homestead has allowed more freedom to areas past the Borderline, but not by a considerable amount.

ORDER OF THE REDLINE: A mysterious group of racers who task themselves with the duty of righting the wrongs in the world through racing in whatever medium is the most popular at the time. Their sills have exposed corruption and ignited a fire in the lower classes to rise up and be heard. However, the Order has been silent for the last 30 years.

~~"MAGIC" SYSTEM: FULL DECK~~
Kits have three (3) components that Soarers must take into account when they build or modify their gear: the Variant, the Model, and the Method. For Genmu, their is a fourth component that must be factored in when building a Kit: the Genmu Edge.
+VARIANT+: the form of transport being used by the Kit. There are three (3) Variants: Sky, Road, and Azure, each representing aerial, land-based, and ocean-based travel respectively.

++MODEL++: the frame of the Kit. Frames used to be simple race cars back when Kits were first introduced, but as time passed, Models began to take newer shapes to fit the desired mode of transportation that Soarers individually wanted. There are five (5) Models: the S, the K, the Z, the R, and the latest Model, the X.
~~MODELS BREAKDOWN~~
-Model S Kits are race cars resembling typical Formula 1 style cars. These are the oldest types of Model and somewhat uncommon. They are most often used with a Road or Azure Variant.
-Model R Kits are stylized racing motorcycles. These are also uncommon to see. Almost exclusively used with a Road Variant, but have been operated with a Sky Variant before.
-Model K Kits are hoverskates. These are rare to see in official races despite their street popularity. They are the only other Model aside from the X capable of Hybrid Variants, as they are simultaneously capable of using Road and Sky Variants during the same race without needing to switch parts.
-Model Z Kits are hoverboards. These are more common to see than the Model S or Model R, and are wildly popular on the street, but not seen very often in official races. They are exclusively used with a Sky Variant.
-Model X Kits are full exosuits outfitted with modular ionic jet propulsion engines that resemble wings affixed to the torso of the suit. This engine allows for three dimensional movement at all times at high speeds. They are currently the most popular Model used in official races, though the cost of acquiring, building, and maintaining a Model X keeps those with lower incomes from being able to adequately use them. They are simultaneously capable of being able to use all Variants at any time.

+++METHOD+++: Each Kit is modular, meaning that it can be modified with additional tech that can be useful during a race. They can be focused on individually or used in conjunction with another Method so long as there is a primary focus. There are three (3) Methods that Soarers can specialize in when building or modifying their Kit: The Saboteur Method, The Bunker Method, and the Rush Method.
~~METHOD BREAKDOWN~~
-The Saboteur Method is an offensive Method that specializes in attacking or disrupting the Kit of other Soarers. The tools for Saboteurs can range from miniature EMPs, flash bang charges, spike launchers, grappling tethers, etc.
-The Bunker Method is a defensive Method that specializes in fending off attacks from Saboteurs at the cost of a small amount of speed. The tools for Bunkers can range from defensive shields, automatic repair kits, sonar detectors, emergency heat seeking reduction flares, etc.
-The Rush Method is a neutral Method that is not concerned with anything besides increasing the Soarer's speed and reflexes. It can be used in tandem with Saboteur and Bunker Methods, but are considerably less effective than pure Saboteur and Bunker Methods due to the lack of space to fit tools when the Kit is currently fitted for speed. Since the Rush Method primarily focuses on speed and reflexes, there are only a few tools available to use for them. These include, but are not limited to, grappling hooks, short range teleportation engines, and "Burst Tanks", which allow for temporary bursts of extremely high speeds.

++++GENMU EDGE++++: This only applies to Soarers who happen to be Genmu. A Kit was not designed for Genmu experimentation, and as such Kits are prone to break or malfunction when exposed to the energy generated by a Genmu's abilities. Any Genmu who Soars is allowed to use their abilities (as they technically fall under a Method this way), but they are not allowed to modify their Kits with an additional Method. If a Genmu is running a Saboteur Method due to their Ability, they cannot modify their Kit with Bunker Method tools. If a Genmu is not using their Ability when they are Soaring, they are allowed to spec into an additional Method if they choose. Because of the sheer power and unpredictability of Genmu Abilities, the fourth factor Soarers must take into account is called the Genmu Edge.

That's all for the detail of the system of Soaring and a brief introduction into the world. Rules and regulations for Soaring will be written in a separate post in the OOC tab if/when there's enough people interested in joining this Roleplay. When you make your OC, take into account how YOU would want to race and what you would want yourself winning in. Your OC's personality will be reflected in their Kit, so think long and hard about what you want to create.
Jin Saionji

Hero Name: Venator

Hero Status: Student/Vigilante

Age: 15

Quirk: Aquila Chroma

Quirk Ability: Saito Clan Elemental Manipulation; Jin can manifest the elements of nature into various firearms that can be spawned from thin air. These firearms can only hold one element at a time, but Jin can spawn a second firearm with a different element if it's small enough. Jin's combat experience with his Quirk also allows him to survey his surroundings with his "Elemental Eagle Eye", which can detect heat signatures, heartbeats, footprints, and see through walls and through illusions. However, this ability cannot be used while wielding any firearms, and prolonged usage of the Elemental Eagle Eye will result in temporary blindness that can last for hours.

Looks:

Bio: Years ago, the Saito Clan, an infamous family of Villains, had an internal falling out. Shinsuke Saito, son of the clan leader Sojiro and brother to Sakura, splintered off from the Saito Clan and changed his surname after becoming disillusioned with the mayhem and bedlam his family caused. However, the life of a Pro Hero also left him dejected. It was too much posturing, not enough saving. He would operate outside the laws to do what needed to be done to help the people. This was the environment his son Jin would grow up in. Despite his young age, Jin has seen his fair share of combat, destruction, and misery, but retains a calm personality, keen intellect, and general empathy for others. Preferring not to kill but mentally prepared for that possibility, Jin's talent with firearms and his Quirk allowed him to be on the front lines with his father as they protected the people. Jin is highly self aware that his views on justice are different from others, so he aspires to join UA and become a real pro Hero to prove his form of justice is equally as valid as society's norms.
After lunch, Kazama and his classmates gave details for their specific Hero suits to Power Loader for analysis. Kazama didn't need anything fancy. He was his own weapon. Bracers for his arms, a lightweight, breathable fabric for his gi, and greaves for his legs. Simple, but reinforcing his joints would be very important from here on out. Gang Orca decided to hold the test 2 weeks from now, so all that was left for him to do was train until the day came.

When the day arrived, his classmates were donning their auspicious Hero suits, all looking like they were born to do this. Kazama could feel his blood pumping. Today was the day he proved himself to his classmates and Gang Orca that he had the making to be a Hero. Gang Orca's gruff cough interrupted his train of thought.

"AHEM. So today it's gonna be you guys versus the robots on Threat Level 8. I want you all to show me what you can do. Medics are off to the side. Once you need to visit them, you're out for the remainder of the exercise. I'm going to put an hour on the clock. START NOW."

Kazama noticed Yin vanish in an instant, and his other classmates seemed to scatter in relatively different directions. They must've all had the same idea to impress Gang Orca with their Quirks and ingenuity. Kazama felt slightly different. Wanting to impress Gang Orca was important, but so was working together as a team. That's what the pros did, and since the only thing that mattered to him was being a pro, Kazama felt the best course of action was to follow a group and provide assistance. His Quirk was offensively focused, but he could provide support if needed.

"Jiyu (Freedom)", whispered Kazama, gathering large pockets of air underneath his feet.

He released it in a burst, moving at incredibly high speeds to catch up to his classmates. Kazama noticed a large, arachnid-like robot was thrashing violently with a student on its back. It was Yin. Kazama didn't know much about her, but that didn't matter here. She was in trouble, and needed help.

"SOMEBODY HELP ME!" she screamed.

Without hesitation, Kazama burst forward again with a violent gust of wind. He slid underneath the spider robot while it was still dealing with Yin on its back.

"Yuki (Courage)!" Kazama shouted, stomping the ground and causing a stone pillar to shoot from the ground with great force.

The spider robot popped up in the air, throwing Yin off of it in order to center itself. Kazama shifted his feet, causing another stone pillar to spring forth from under him and launch him into the air. While airborne, Kazama switched back to Jiyu Stance, using gusts of wind to manipulate his trajectory in order to catch Yin as she plummeted to the ground. Kazama caught Yin as she yelped from the sudden shock of everything that just happened within seconds. Kazama placed his classmate on the ground and smiled.

"You okay?" he asked jovially.

Yin was shaken, but not too much. She smiled and adjusted her glasses.

"I got a little careless but I'm good."

The spider robot turned its gaze towards Kazama and Yin. Kazama readied himself for a fight. Yin paused slightly, causing Kazama to halt his attack.

"The top of the robot's back is the weak spot, but I can't crack it," Yin said, still seemingly in thought.

She suddenly grinned widely.

"But I do have an idea."

Kazama instantly felt a surge of excitement. He liked the tone of her scheme.

"How do you feel about traveling through portals?" Yin asked slyly.

Kazama braced himself.

"There's a first time for everything," he grunted.

Yin smiled, opening a whitish-blue portal. Kazama noticed she bent on one knee as the portal was made. She was tiring out. Kazama knew he had to make the strike count.

"In you go," Yin laughed, clearly fatigued.

Kazama switched to Jiyu Stance and launched himself through the portal. Within seconds, he noticed he was several meters above the spider robot as it made its way towards Yin.

"Chikara (Strength)," Kazama uttered, flames erupting from his body.

Kazama propelled himself downward with a miniature explosion, increasing his velocity towards the spider robot. As he neared his target, Kazama readied his strike.

"Natsu no Ha Gaten Karaochiru (A Summer Leaf Falls From Heaven)!" Kazama shouted has he struck the back of the robot like a javelin straight down.

The velocity and heat from the impact caused Kazama to burn right through the robot's core. His hand pulsed with flames as the spider robot shuddered violently and shut down. Yin looked on in amazement as the flames subsided from Kazama's body.

"That was really cool dude," she said brightly.

Kazama beamed and helped Yin onto her feet.

"That's the first time I was able to implement Jinnouichi Style Karate outside of the dojo...I would've never thought of that maneuver on my own though; thanks for your help."

Yin nodded.

"Classmates gotta stick together, right?"

"Right. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, I just can't use my Quirk too much back to back. I need some time to recharge, so to speak."

Kazama crossed his arms.

"Gotcha. I'll stick with you so you can recharge safely. Let's make our way back to the group just in case other people are in trouble."

"Right."

Kazama realized that he had splintered off from Hiroki and Drew, but figured they would make their way to the center of the arena as it had the best view for Gang Orca. With that in mind, Kazama and Yin made their way to the center of the arena, where the sounds of battle continued to rage on.

After class was dismissed for lunch, Kazama eagerly anticipated getting to know his classmates better. After all, they would be his support towards achieving his goal. As he made his way through the packed halls and into the lunchroom, Kazama noticed Andrew sitting together at a table with a large student he assumed was one of his late classmates. He scanned the room for Herito, but couldn't seem to find him.

Andrew's temper reminded him of his own fighting spirit. He was rather loud, but Kazama assumed that's how most Americans were and payed it no mind. In fact, he was intrigued. Someone with gusto to match his own. He secretly hoped they would get along. Herito on the other hand was a childhood friend. Kazama's mother was very acquainted with Herito's family due to her past as a Villain, and the two shared mutual interest in being Heroes and used that as motivation to challenge each other to excel in their growth. Although most of the world knew of the Saito family as the Chromatic Tyrants, luckily he could use his father's surname, as at least he'd rather be known as the son of a Quirkless loser as opposed to the son of a femme fatale and her family of extremely powerful and ruthless masterminds. Kazama approached the table where AndrewHiroki sat. Andrew let out an exhilarated shout as he caught an Armored Mewtwo in Pokemon Go. He sat down with earnest.

"Hey Andrew. What the hell was all that earlier between you and Herito?" he asked.

Andrew's brow furrowed.

"Man look; dude was next to me reading porno and breathing all weird and I'm supposed to think that's normal? Nah, bruh."

Kazama knew Herito had his....hobbies, but most others weren't aware of his nuance. It's not like most would care even if they did know. Herito was a very eccentric and perverted person, and it caused Kazama to mature a bit faster due to all the things he was exposed to growing up. He had his mother and Herito to thank for that.

"I wanna apologize for Herito. He's a bit off and his filter is non-existent, but he means well. Usually. I think," Kazama stammered.

He noticed the large student nervously sitting next to Andrew and noticed a minor discomforting shift of his weight.

"Sorry for being rude; you must be one of the late students Gang Orca punished earlier. I'm Kazama Jinnouichi. And you are?"

The gentle giant smiled weakly.

"I'm Hiroki. Hiroki Yarawaka. I figured my height might put you off, so I just waited until you finished your conversation with Andrew."

Kazama smiled widely. Hiroki was at the very least a kind soul.

"Nonsense. If I was put off by someone's height alone I'd have no chance of being a Hero."

Kazama turned to Andrew again as he was transfixed in Pokemon Go.

"Sorry again for Herito."

Andrew nodded, then shook his head.

"It's not your fault, so you don't need to apologize. Just so long as he keeps that creepy shit away from me, we're good."

Kazama wasn't sure whether to be relieved or worried. He was Herito's childhood friend, but he also wanted to make sure to confide in Andrew in the future as a friend as well. He was going to have to maintain that balance delicately. Andrew put his phone down for a moment and stretched.

"Anyway, that's a cool little Quirk you got there. You didn't explain it, but I think I got the idea. So you control elements, right?"

Kazama smiled. He wanted to keep certain details of his Quirk as a surprise to his classmates until the physical test. Then they would get to see him at 50%.

"Basically, yeah. I can manipulate a handful, but I can't project them past a range of 3 meters--or about 9 and a half feet. So my Quirk is
best suited for close range combat. My dad is Quirkless, but he's mastered the Jinnouichi Family Style of karate and taught it to me. I haven't mastered it yet, but I'm close. That's why I instinctively wanted to spar with the class. I wanted to flex my muscles, so to speak."

Andrew laughed.

"I can understand that. I wanted to take you up on that offer before Gang Orca stared giving everyone a death glare. We'll see who comes out on top during the physical test."

Hiroki also laughed.

"Yes, let's do our best, guys."

Kazama smiled. He could feel his spirit burning with anticipation. His legacy was about to begin.
Gang Orca's piercing gaze met his. Kazama's eyes shone with both anticipation and fear. His classmates' Quirks were interesting, but some required refinement. He pushed that thought out his head. Due to their builds, Kazama noticed that a fair amount of them had martial arts training. But how well that training paired with their Quirks was something he'd have to find out.

Selena. Andrew.

Their Quirks stood out as the most flexible offensively. Kazama knew to keep an eye on them. His fighter's spirit wanted to spar with everyone in the room. However, now wasnt the time for forging rivalries. He needed to excel. To show Gang Orca that he had the potential to be a great Hero, despite his family name.

He approached the front of the class and bowed to his peers.

"I'm Kazama. Kazama Jinnouichi. You guys might have heard of my mom, Sakurafubuki. The Villainess."

Some of the heads in the room looked at him confused. Some wide-eyed with nervousness, and others without a single care. Good. He could build his own name here. He noticed Gang Orca tense slightly.

It was time to start.

"My Quirk is Aura Chroma. I can control the elements of nature; fire, wind, water, lightning, you name it."

His classmates sat in silence.

"Chikara," he uttered, lighting his body ablaze to emphasize his point.

After a moment, he exhaled.

"Jiyū," he breathed.

He then commanded the wind to disperse the flames. His classmates looked on in awe and apprehension.

"I cant control Ice, Lightning, Metal, or Light during the day. Those are the Jinnouichi Dusk Forms. I also have an issue projecting anything past 3 meters, so close up fighting works best for me."

Gang Orca grunted. Kazama's gaze met his.

"Your mother, the Villainess? And you wish to be a Hero?"

Kazama grinned widely.

"More than anything."

Gang Orca grunted again. Kazama turned his attention to his classmates. Some seemed impressed, others couldn't care less. That was fine enough to him. He exhaled once more, accidentally sending a gust outward and pushing the front row of chairs back slightly. His fighter's spirit roared inside.

"And if any of you want a lesson in Jinnouichi Style Karate, I'll be more than happy to oblige," he stated, letting an ominous dark aura flow from his body.

That was when more eyes lit up. Not out of fear, but out of anticipation of a challenge. Kazama smiled. That reaction was more like it. Kazama was sure of it then; this class would be the perfect place to challenge himself and excel past his limits, and his classmates would be there to support him. He felt the same. He would exercise his duty as a Hero and prop up his classmates when they needed him. They would grow together and he would make genuine friends. As he made his way back to his seat, he could feel the eyes on him, even Gang Orca's.

Kazama slightly slumped in his seat.

"Maybe challenging the whole room to a fight was a bad idea," he thought.

Next time, he would just let his Quirk do the talking. Seeing as the physical pre-test was next, he was certain that "next time" would be soon.
