EDIT: also, life expectancy for a survivor is usually between 25-35 depending on the area. Some better off areas have some people who can reach 40 but that's rare. Which is why I'm (lovingly) calling your character old.

Nah, I thought husks fit, cause they're a shell of a person- like a corn husk is the shell for corn. Ghouls makes it feel as if they are/were dead, which they're not (not physically, at least).
