How I'm gonna do this is basically our world has other beings hiding in it and, for some of us, that could be how we got our powers.

Name: Luna
Age: 24
Race: Sylph
Instrument: Drums
Appearance: Luna stands 4 foot, 6 inches tall with long, black hair, bright green eyes and a slender frame. She wears a black goth style dress with green leggings, sleeves and belt and knee-high black boots. In her Sylph form, she is only 2 inches tall with the addition of black and green butterfly-like wings with a 3-inch wingspan.
Personality: Luna is very brash and hot-headed, which has caused her problems and started arguments her entire life. Since Sylphs, like most Fae, age 1 year for every human 25 upon reaching maturity, she has kept herself hidden for the most part for the last 200 human years.
History: Luna was raised in a tiny Fae village deep in the forest on the edge of a small town.

Also, personally I've always seen the -kinetic and -pathic powers as scientifically explainable while -mancy has always been magic. The only exception being empathic.
For example, Geokinesis, to me, is moving the earth through the strength of your mind and can be explained scientifically. Geomancy, on the other hand, is pure magic, spiritual essence and/or other similar reasons. Make sense?
