Greetings my brothers and sisters of Mexico I come to you with a heavy heart. It wasn’t too long ago that our great nation was being ravaged by a brutal civil war and the debt the conservative party had put us in. The memories of the United States marching through Mexico City and lying waste to all in their path also burn bright in the minds of those who lived through that brutal war. I have two options that lay before me which include declaring war on the Kingdom of the Netherlands or we could renounce the treaty altogether and risk Mexico burning once again by the hands of the British or French. We have come so far after that brutal civil war and it would deeply troubling if all the progress we made was for not. War is going to be inevitable but where that war takes place depends on my decision. I’d rather see this war take far away from the shores of Mexico and with a torn heart I formally declare war on the Kingdom of the Netherlands. May God have mercy on our souls…

Ah, I suspected as much.In that case, I guess I do see why Mexico would consider assisting the Coalition.

The Coalition has no navy nor the potential for aide.

They are calling upon my aide, if I break my treaty they are within whatever right do what they will... I made the decision for this Faustian pact and honestly I may have to live with my decision.

Mexico would be smart to not honor their alliance to the Allies; in fact warring powers in Europe is probably the best thing for Mexico as nobody cares about her debt at the moment.

They have a navy and vast armies... The government before me tied there hands in regards to the debt and honestly I'd rather not have British or French soldiers landing on the beaches of Mexico and the coalition nor the union can do anything to stop them I'm afraid. Would I rather have a couple tyrants 3,000 miles away or 3,000 tyrants one mile away.

Taiping, 2nd Opium, why not have another societally shattering war?Better yet, let's invade terrain where we cannot logistically support our large numbers, thus depriving us of our only advantage!

Well if the war goes well this could be very beneficial for China and Japan's governments especially if it's over a European power. Also it would give the Russian bear a war on two fronts which would greatly prevent the steam role that was going to take place in Central Europe. This war needs a quick victory on the western front or that naval blockade will eventually starve out the rest of coalition if this becomes an extended war of attrition.
