"Oh? You met a Liliraune then. They're a monster like an Alraune but with two people inside one flower." Talia realized that that answer was not much and rectified. "Well, an Alraune is a plant monster that usually stays stationary in one flower and secretes nectar that has many uses. Mainly as an aphrodisiac for attracting mates."

John never really let his thoughts dwell on the plant creature up until this moment. John was still rather uncomfortable with monsters and while he didn't have much of a problem with Talia because she looked rather normal except for the eye. The plant thing on the other hand did not. Bringing up the aphrodisiac, something John did not know about, only made him more uncomfortable about her and it showed in his facial expressions. Is that so? Well...ok then. John didn't really have any other response that he could think other than to show how uncomfortable he was about the situation. He made a mental note that he should likely try to avoid her as not to fall under any kind of effect.

John would do his best to push his thoughts back and get to work on building the barn. It wouldn't take long for John to get lost in his work.

As the day came to an end, he gazed upon their unfinished product. He layed down on a soft spot of grass and and crossed his arms behind his head. It looks good for not being down yet. In my experience, the foundation is usually the biggest pain to deal with but now that we have that out of the way, things should go smooth.

It took John a minute to notice that Bart had approached. John stood up and brushed his pants when he heard Bart as him who he was supposed to be. John looked a little puzzled when he was asked.I'm John. We met several days ago. You said you heard about my talents through an artisans guild. John paused for a moment. While he wasnt exactly surprised he had been forgotten, it was only a few days ago.It'sall good, makes sense. Uhm...I was testing my glove when you approached and it exploded. The blast sent me back several feet. You laughed for a full minute.

John was slightly upset he had to reveal that information in front of Talia but it was the most memorable moment between Bart and John.

"Oh? What did you think I would look like?" Talia teased. "A hulking monstrosity twenty feet tall? A fat and ugly being with a horrible one eye?" The Cyclops giggled before resuming.

"Well uh...to be honest, I wasnt really sure. I mean, I knew there would be monsters but I never really knew what one would look like. I did some reading and I think one book somewhere said something about cyclops being part of the giant family or something. So when they said there was a cyclops, I figured you would be..well...a literal giant." John was silent for a moment. He did not continue talking until he wa slead outside to where the barn was going to be built. He examined the area to make sure the barn would be on stable ground.

"You know, the first monster I saw up close was some kind of plant...flower..thing. It had two people inside it though. That kinda made me toss out any kinda of expectations of what you might look like. I apologize if I stereotyped you in anyway. I didn't mean to do so."

"Next to the fenced in field, behind the guild." Talia gestured with her thumb. "Come, I'll show you."

The Cyclops led you outside and to the grassy fields behind the main guild building. There, you found a decently-sized field surrounded by poor but workable fences. Within the fenced area were two brown horses lazing about under the sun. "I want to build the barn next to the fence. Well, into the fence so things would be more convenient. What do you think?"

"I have no illusion that we're gonna do this in one day. And I'm not gonna make you keep helping me until the barn is completed so if you want to do another request the next day, it's alright."

"You don't need to worry about taking up my time. As far as taking another request, I'm not really much of a fighter. I practice with all the weapons I make to be sure they are effective and made properly but I dont really fight. As far as what I think for stables, i do think a barn styled stable should be fine with only two horses. Normally you would have to worry about infection spreading quick or horses with allergies getting in to something they shouldn't with a barn stable but since it's only two horses then the barn will be fine. Just let me know if you want me to build as if we will get more houses and how many segments you want and I'll get to working on blueprints. Again, I dont really have any other requests unless Bartwants me to fix the hole in the front."

John walked over to a nice patch of grass and sat down. He then pulled out some writing utensils and some parchment. Before Talia could really answer his questions, he would start to draw basic plans and modify them as Talia saw fit.
@PaulHaynek

John looked through his bag for a piece of parchment and writing utensils to start drawing up some schematics for the barn. "I'm not really sure why Neil was upset. I saw some woman with wings and black scales talking to him though...or maybe she wasn't talking to him. I'm not really sure. Wasn't close enough to here the conversation and it's not my business at the end of the day. I asked if she was rude to him though. He said he was fine but that kid seems to be a poor liar." John found what he needed and pulled them out of his bag. "Not sure what kind of monster she was but she certainly didn't look like something I'd want to confront. To be honest, your only the second one I've seen up close. Wasn't really sure what to expect when I was told a cyclops was here. I figured it would be someone who could step on me."

John stopped and thought for a moment. Realizing what he said was rude, he turned his head to face Talia. I'm sorry, that was rude of me. You are much more attractive than I thought you would be. John picked up his backpack without noticing what kind of reaction Talia would have made. He started looking for a better place to put his stuff as he didn't want it to be thrown about in Talias' work area. Yea I guess you could say I'm some kind of engineer. I grew up into it and did it most my life. I even joined some kind of artisans guild to broaden my knowledge. It was nice but they seemed a little too narrow for me. Bart invited me here though..I guess my knowledge is worth something if he thinks so. I thought he invites for my blacksmithing though. John couldn't really find a better place for his stuff at the moment and so he simply held onto it.

To be completely honest, when I heard there was a cyclops here...which was about five..maybe ten minutes ago, I figured I was already out of a job. Looking at your work, I admire it. You certainly have talent I wish I could have. Dont get me wrong, I have faith in my work but I wouldnt say I'm the best. John began to walk toward the exit of the forge. Would you mind showing me where you plan to build the barn? I literally just got here and have no idea where I'm going.
Will post tonight. Been working a lot.
@PaulHaynek

John listened as Talia spoke of what troubled her. "Bart exploded huh? That the reason why the door out front? Had a hole in it?" John though it could have been but didn't wait much for an answer. "I guess that would explain why that kid Neil was in a bad mood." John was already on the fence about this place before he even showed up, now he was in a guild where no one seems to get along. That sure wasnt the kind of environment he wanted to be in. "Well I guess I'm lucky I have no one to disappoint." John said as he continued to glance around the forge. He was getting a feel for the place since he would likely spend most of his time here. It was at that time he had heard Talia mention something about posting on the board and building stables. That was the real thing that caught John's attention. He wasnt some kind of therapist to fix the group issues but he knew how to build.

John looked directly at Talia at that point. "How many horses and what kind of stable?" John started going over his tools to ensure he could go through with the job. "This gonna be an internal or external stable? You thinking of doing traditional style or more like a barn? They both got their advantages and disadvantages but I'm sure you know more than I do about it so I'll let you make the call." John thought about any more questions he might need to ask. "Do we have the materials for this or are we making it from scratch?"
@PaulHaynek

John waited for Talia to respond. Her voice caught him off guard. He could hear her footsteps as she approached. These footsteps certainly hinted toward her size before John even saw her. When she had showed herself, John's poker face was put into overdrive. She was certainly tall, not as tall as John expected considering her kind were part of the giant family. He waited for her to finish talking before he would speak up. In all honesty, he wasn't really sure what to say. One wrong word and her friendly demeanor could change. She mentioned she was upset and John would hate to see someone of her size on a rampage with so many weapons and tools around her, all of which could likely crack John's head better than the metal they are ment for.

"Um....yea...I'm John." He did his best not to sound nervous. "No need to be formal, just John is fine. As far as visiting you, I was simply told you were around. I'm somewhat of a blacksmith myself. I also do construction and tailoring. I figured you were probably the person I could relate to the most. I'm not here to compare work or anything. I'm sure you are far more talented than me anyway." John glanced around at her work. Some of which John could do better but he assumed those were her on her bad days. "Looking around, I'm kinda questioning why I was asked to join when someone of your talent is here. Certainly gonna make me feel kinda useless but I'll get over it."

John wasn't really sure where to carry the conversation. She was the second monster he had seen this close up and the first one he ever went out of his way to talk to. His work always spoke for him but an actual conversation was difficult. "I um...I mean....you have a place aside from the trash where I can out my tools?" Humor was probably the way to go. Best way to get to a blacksmith was to compliment their work and talent. On top of that, if Talia really was stressed, then he hoped this talk would make her feel better. "You said you were stressed. May I ask what about?"
Posting soon.
John will likely help build the stables considering construction is one of his proficiencies.
