Current For the same reason it was able to gather its power, I will not bow to it. Freedom is for everyone; not just the loudest voice.

Bio

I return from a long hiatus, in the hopes that roleplaying has once again returned to the art of inclusive storytelling. Prove me right and I will stay. Prove me wrong and I will go.

This CS is under construction. I have the bulk of it adapted for the roleplay, but would like to fill out the information a little better. For now, here is my submission to The Lodge:

Thank you, most sincerely. I have been away from both crafts for far too long. It is time to try again.
I shall retrieve the full CS at once. No worries if it doesn't make the final cut; I'm just happy to be discussing ideas again.

EDIT: I am being reliably blocked from sending PMs, so I'm not entirely certain what to do, other than to post the CS here. I had wanted to do that privately, first, so as to clear out all the irrelevant clutter before posting publicly.

Is anyone else getting "bad gateway" when they try to send a PM? It's literally the only thing I cannot do on this site. It seems...oddly specific.

EDIT II: I think I forgot to fill out the "subject" line. Nice of them to tell me it's required. >_> Ah well; it's fixed now, so I move on.
On reflection, I should have posted here first. I did not think of it. But, I post here now to explain a status update which may increase my availability in a venue I have been forced to neglect for far too long.

Some months ago, I took a delivery job to help pay the bills. I applied for part time, but that quickly became "all the time". I came to realize that I was neglecting every area of my life...even my health. Having saved up enough money for a substantial leave of absence, I have chosen to pursue my creative career, which may mean more time to return to roleplaying. I won't be as active as before, granted, because I still have to work in the shop in order to keep this place running, but I'll be here. That's more than I had before.

Quitting was a risk, but it's one I had to take. Staying would have meant never realizing my ideas, or bringing them into a tangible form that others can enjoy. Making things is pretty much 90% of who I am. I have to try.

Besides: I have left the company on good terms, and have nearly a year's worth of bill money saved. If I can't make it on my own, I go somewhere else and get part-time again. I might try an electronics store this time. Nothing like the home field advantage, eh?

In any event, for those who knew me before, I am returning in some limited capacity. I would be very interested in rekindling those old friendships and seeing where new stories can take us. For those who do not know me, let me only say that I am an experienced roleplayer -both in forum/message play and in tabletop games- and that I have been around long enough to know exactly what I want.

I will be updating my profile soon, to reflect my current status. Until that happens, if you're interested in discussing ideas, want a partner, or just want to find out what I'm into, please don't hesitate to message me. The absolute worst thing that will happen is we'll find out we don't have any common ground.
Well...it seems you already have a techie, but I'd still like to cast my lot if there ends up being room. The first character I thought of has been one I've played frequently, but she seems to fit; it would only take one transdimensional anomaly brought on by futzing about with gravitational manipulation to transport her to Fazia.

What do you think about a mental link with technology? Specifically, the ability to psionically identify components, their purpose, their condition, and their potential usefulness as scrap components, via bombarding the object with brainwaves and reading their reflections. There's more to it than that, but that's the short and skinny of it. I'm sure I can scrounge up her full character sheet if asked to do so.

Samantha Cole is terribly inquisitive, despises human interaction, and prefers the company of machines. She'll take any excuse to investigate a new technology, and has been caught more times than she can count with her hands on somebody else's scrap. It is a very good thing she's light on her feet, and just a little too squirmy for the unprepared.

My thinking is to exploit the short story arc you've proposed to explain how she ended up on Fazia, via a series of unfortunate events involving the local (well...in terms of star systems, anyway) government and the violation of several "restricted arms" statutes. Could be fun.

I will be interested to hear your thoughts.
@BlessedWrath I hate to see you go, but I kind of anticipated this. Sorry that you couldn't keep up with it, I thought Sam had some potential, at least.

I am, too. It's rare to find this level of activity in a roleplay. Rare to find this kind of commitment from a GM. Rare all around. It's what attracted me to it in the first place. I lost my time; that's THE reason I couldn't keep up. If I hadn't had to take this job? I'd have stayed.

@BlessedWrath
Shame we never got to collab. Maybe next round, eh? Safe travels.

Definitely. If my interactions with NST are any indication, collabs in this group are amazing. I definitely want to do this again.
Guys, I can't stay. I haven't even touched my computer in over a week. I'm sorry, but I have to withdraw. I will be more than happy to participate in something that has once-per-week posts, but with the new job, I can't hope to even keep up on what's happening IC in a roleplay like this.

Thank you for the opportunity, and for accepting my character and interacting with her. I hope I have the chance to do it again, some day.

P.S. Put Sam on the Chaotic Neutral list. She might hate humans, but even she sees the wisdom in occasionally helping them. They...are sometimes useful, in their own way. Saving one today means exploiting him next week.
I'm available today, but there's a massive catch-up necessary on my end. I'm wondering if it's even possible.

I can retropost for Sam, during all of these timeskips, but it's going to be something stupid like "Meanwhile, 180 days later..."

I suck. -_-
I've sort of been waiting for Blessed Wrath for a few days, I think he's got some stuff on at the minute.

I can throw Seraphine and Alice into anything though, I need to get a bit more involved :)

Work, work, and more work. The fast pace of this roleplay, combined with the fact I never have any free time, may make me a bad fit here. I simply cannot keep up.
@Mr Allen J I think we have reached an equilibrium. NST is still willing to have Ellen run into Sam, but I have to retropost for the week-long timeskip and get Sam out of that tunnel. I have to figure out what Sam's been doing for a week. After that, we can start cooperating on a new post.

So that's what I'm doing today.
