ERode hit all the points. Other than that, we know vampires and daemons only exist within the confines of Other-Tokyo. And there are more pocket dimensions out there e.g. Other-London, home to Black Babel's Western Branch.

@Dead Cruiser They'd probably mind control humans to do their bidding, yeah. I thought you meant like a straight partnership between vamps and humans which wouldn't happen. There may be brainwashed witches running around OT too.

@OwO I'm down with that set up for the Saejima clan. Could be interesting to inject some underworld elements into the story at certain points.

@ERode No one's certain how many vampires are in OT alone. You can't expand horizontally but you can vertically, so vampires build their main hideouts underground. Vamps outnumber the witches but the normal humans and Daemons are the biggest population in OT. They also have to be smart in how they handle their human "cattle" so they would feed on just enough of the population that it won't suffer from a stifled growth.

Umbrellas won't help but vamps can tolerate heavily cloudy days. It'll make their regen suffer though.

The previous and current 1st seat are both Might users so there's hope for those who like the good old fashion strategy of punching things in the face or beating them with a really big stick.

Would organized crime be a thing in Other-Tokyo? I'm imagining some kind of Yakuza in bed with the Vampires that trades in black market magic.

There is a normal human population in Other-Tokyo so organized crime is a possibility. Or they operate in the real Tokyo? Vampires wouldn't be interested in doing business with humans though other than making a meal out of them.

Yeah, the edges of Other-Tokyo is enveloped by a thick fog. Wandering into the fog will just have you end up back inside the city. Lore-wise, it isn't understood how any of the inhabitants came to be. They were just always there since the conception of Other-Tokyo, which is still being researched by Black Babel. The badges contain a special Craft that facilitates the dimension hopping, but since only Witches can use magic, they're the only ones who can access the badge's magic.

Magic works like superpowers basically, except it's an inherited trait. At least one parent must've been a Witch. You don't learn magic. It's just discovered naturally as you age and there are no resource (like mana) behind it's use. Black Babel has Daemons that can detect if a person can use magic.

There are no differences between a Witch and a normal human aside from the ability to use magic. Most Daemons are very much instinct driven like animals so they are handled in a similar manner. Some Daemons like Familiars are intelligent and are drawn to a Witch's magic. If a Familiar likes you, it will seek you out to form a bond.

A soft-spoken and timid young man, Yuta found himself in the care of Black Babel at an early age after the brutal slaughter of his mother by an unknown vampiric assailant. This traumatic event has left him afflicted with random bouts of paralysis, typically triggered by the sight of a Vampire feeding. Vowing to take revenge against the Vampire that killed his mother, Yuta began training as a Witch recruit at the academy. His skill with magic and combat left much to be desired, but through his persistent spirit, Yuta managed to do enough for the top brass to consider him for graduation.

Outside of his Wiccan duties, Yuta operates in the real Tokyo as a high school student, maintaining rather impressive grades. However, his frequent injuries—a result of his training as a Witch—causes others to question his activities outside of school. Although sheepish, Yuta is pleasant and polite when speaking with others. He has a reputation of being somewhat of a worrywart especially when it comes to the safety and well-being of his fellow Witches. He'd rather himself be injured than allowing his companions to be if he can help it.

At first, Yuta was to be assigned to the Scouts Regiment but he insisted on being considered for the Xcursionists. Adamant in his decision despite knowing the danger that comes with it, Yuta finally managed to convince the higher-ups to grant his request albeit with much reluctance on their part. Now comes the eve of his graduation test. He, along, with several other members considered for the Xcursion Regiment are tasked with killing their first real Vampire. A task in which failure will result in their deaths no less. With fear weighing heavy on his heart, Yuta nevertheless looks onward.

𝕏 Nyx: An imp-class Daemon taking the form of a black cat with piercing red eyes. Being a familiar, it is able to speak the human tongue. It's voice is deep and smooth; masculine-sounding. Because of this, Nyx is typically referred to as a male despite Daemons being genderless. Nyx has a cool, calm, and collected nature. He seems to behave in a very mature and wise manner, often thinking things through before acting. He sometimes exhibit natural cat behavior such as grooming himself or rubbing up against people and objects he passes by. In battle, Nyx uses his natural speed and agility to catch opponents off guard before relying on his razor-sharp claws to dole out damage.

𝕏 Broom: Yuta's broom is a mix of wood and aluminum adorned with the head of a ruby-eyed dragon and handles in the shape of wings. It is a speedy broom but suffers because of its difficulty to control. Like most flying brooms, it can be conveniently summoned and dismissed by magic, freeing the user from having to lug the heavy piece around.

𝕏 Potion Pouch: A cream-colored pouch that can be attached to a belt. It can hold up to four potions at any given time. As a standard procedure, Yuta carries brews that enhances his physiological abilities, allowing him to physically keep up with his vampiric enemy.

𝕏 Firefly: Tiny imp-class Daemons in the form of translucent fetuses with insect-like wings encased in a spherical red womb. Fireflies glow with a bright light when awakened from their slumber, making them an excellent light source. Yuta usually carries two or three with him in a modified pouch.

𝕏 Shrike: Another tiny imp-class Daemon. Shrikes take the form of black avian-like creatures with two pairs of wings and no other appendages. When thrown, they will swiftly bounce back and forth in an enclosed space, piercing through anything it makes contact with multiple times. It will however never attack its wielder.

𝕏 Sabbath: Yuta creates a black cross of pure energy at a designated location. The heat radiating off of the cross creates a flame-like white outline. After about a second, the cross explodes, dealing damage to anything caught within the blast. Yuta can usually only create two or three at once.

𝕏 Iron Maiden: A silver cabinet with the face of a beautiful woman materializes behind an enemy. Its metal doors swing open and black tendrils attempt to drag the enemy inside. Once it does so, the doors violently closes, piercing the target with numerous spikes. It isn't fatal to Vampires but, rather, is used as a binding spell so Yuta can then use his WAND to deliver a killing blow.

𝕏 Slayer: This spell creates a black energy whip with a purple outline and a metallic blade at the end. Used primarily as a melee weapon but also to disarm weapons from enemies.

𝕏 Morbid Angel: Yuta materializes up to two X-shaped chakrams that rotate at blinding speed. Extraordinarily sharp, when thrown at an enemy, it can sever limbs with ease.

𝕏 Black Sabbath: Currently, Yuta's strongest Curse spell. The enemy is bound in place by 20 to 50 black crosses depending on the enemy's size. Yuta then gathers as much Anti-Energy as he can into his WAND and fires it at the target. This creates a chain of explosions from the crosses, leading to an absolutely massive cross-shaped explosion that can be seen for miles. This spell has enough power to vaporize the target and, due to the Anti-Energy, is fatal to Vampires. Using this spell completely exhausts Yuta as a result, making him unable to battle any further for some time.

𝕏 Godflesh: Yuta summons an ornate silver shield with a cross at its center floating in place. It will protect from attacks until breaking after enough damage has been done to it. Yuta can dismiss the shield at will so that he may reposition it. After breaking, it will take some time before he can use this spell again.

𝕏 Devil Slaying Eye: A spell that is said to only awaken in Witches that have achieved S-Rank. The sclera of one eye becomes black in color while the iris turns red and the pupil forms into a unique shape depending on the caster. For Yuta's case, his pupil is shaped like an X with a circular white center. With the Devil Slaying Eye active, Yuta can see all weak or vital points of a target and perceive the world as if it's operating in slow motion. Additionally, he can also perceive the imperceptible. His physiological abilities increases dramatically without the use of potions, making him on par with powerful Vampires. Unlike S-Ranked Witches, Yuta cannot control when this spell is activated.

𝕏 Pantera: This spell transforms Yuta's familiar, Nyx, into a black panther-like creature radiating with white heat energy. All of its physical attributes are enhanced significantly and it can fire off triple beams of energy by slashing at the air. After a certain time limit is reached, Nyx reverts back into his normal state.
