I could keep going, but you get the point. There's no shortage of strong straight female leads. I can't list gay males, but thats because a lot of the 'mainstream' games I play are open world RPG games were being gay straight, both, or neither is a choice the player can decide, so thats a bit of a grey area.

@Archmage MC Tracer and Korra are the only two that come to mind for me. Compare it to the number of straight protagonists in popular media, and you'll find there's still a HUGE discrepancy. I'm pretty happy that companies are finally stepping up to the plate and making gay protagonists/poster characters. Granted, not ALL of them should be, but more is definitely better.

I've actually gotten dinner with Voltaire, believe it or not. My friends and I went to a con in Florida, and he was doing a show at a place called The Underbelly. We stopped in at the place next door for dinner and he was there, chatted for a bit. Cool dude.
