Across the lake Haruki was fishing from (and what Harvey was running up to) stood a castle. It looked like it could have been grand at one point or another, it's grey cobblestone framework standing resulted despite the destruction around it. However, it too had suffered-several hole in the wall had been made, a bridge that had crossed the river had been blown apart, and most tellingly a stained glass window that had been on the tallest tower of the castle had been blown out from the inside, replaced by a tarp with a grinning reptilian face on it.

To the two Koopas that were currently loitering at the castle's front door, this was a normal sight to them. Haruki and Harvey were not.

"Er, am I seeing this right?" Asked a Green Shelled Koopa to a Red Shelled one. He scratched his head, trying to figure out if Cheep Cheeps could have that much difference between species. The Red Koopa scoffed at the question.

"Wish I wasn't. Those things are eyesores to me," he complained, rolling his eyes "still, that taller one will give us a good meal once we confiscate his bucket of fish. Heck I'd take the fish man himself for a meal personally."

"You and me both. So, shall we report this to General Morton?" Asked the Green Shelled Koopa, referring to his commanding officer. The Red Shelled Koopa eyed the Green Shelled one as if he had just sprouted a second head.

"You do know he's out on a bombing run, right? Lord Bowser doesn't expect him back until later tonight." The Red Shelled one stated simply. The Green Shelled one shrugged.

"You and I both know Morton likes to finish jobs early. I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up in-hang on...Do you hear that?" The Green Shelled Koopa asked, pausing mid sentence. The Red Shelled one blinked a few times, but soon he heard it to. A low, humming sound, like turbines being worked to their absolute limit. And they were getting closer.

"I'll be damned. Guess a broken clock is right twice a day, eh Green Shell?" The Red Shelled Koopa asked snakily. The Green Shelled one ignored his companion.

To say the Toads were terrified would be an understatement. More and more dangerous looking individuals were coming through the portal, and if this kept up not only would they be out muscled, they'd be out numbered too. With each new motion, be it Kieri summoning her blade, Darth Vader activating his light saber, or Ainz summoning two hellish like beings. Kieri in particular had winced at that last one, somewhat glad now that Ainz had insisted she stay on his shoulder. She couldn't help but wonder what had made the skeleton so protective of her, though she did have experience with those who had less than savory exteriors being rather kind on the inside. Still, it was too early to judge whether Ainz would turn out to be one of those people.

The Toads meanwhile stood their ground admirably. They were obviously scared witless, even their General, but a look into their eyes would tell anyone how hardy they had become. The ones guarding Jasper, who had yet to make a move, could be justified in that they hadn't actually seen anything else that had come through the portal, but the ones who looked them dead on refused to move, merely tightening their grips on their spears as they awaited them to make the first move.

At least, they were, until a siren pierced the eery calm in the air. General Shif T. froze in place, and his face finally betrayed the fear in his mind. "Oh no..." He murmured, his eyes looking past the legion of power forces in front of him and to the castle beyond. Or rather, above it.

"Everyone below ground, n-!" Started Blot T., though he found himself unable to finish that sentence. Jasper had finally gotten bored enough to strike. The powerful quartz warrior had grabbed the Toad by his neck and slammed him back down into the ground, grabbing his spear and snapping it with one hand. The other toads started jabbing and stabbing, but though Jasper would occasionally grunt, she fought on, seemingly oblivious to the dozens of toads running for cover around her.

At least she was, until a shadow was cast on her back.

"What the..." Muttered Jasper, currently rearing back to head butt an unfortunate looking Toad in the face when the shadow was cast. She looked up and suddenly felt very, very small.

Up above were a fleet of five flying wooden battleships. There were four smaller ones, each equipped with perhaps a half dozen canons and kept in the air via propellers sticking up where the sail should've been. The fifth one, however, dwarfed the other four, having a full dozen canons and a far steeper bow. On said bow was a silver face of a bald, roaring face, with a star tatoo over their left eye. Jasper hadn't known it yet, but she had just gotten her first glimpse of Morton Koopa Jr.

------------------------------------

"Sir is there any particular reason we've flown past the castle? We're running on empty in regards to fuel, troops, and explosives." Berated the Hammer Bro assigned as the second in command to this particular bombing run. Morton, who had been looking out a window down on Toad Town, glanced over his shoulder, a mischievous looking spark in his eyes. He turned on the Hammer Bro, somehow making him look larger than the Hammer Bro despite said Hammer Bro having four inches on Morton.

"You remember how we're supposed to make sure no structure in Toad Town is supposed to be standing, right?" Morton asked in a gruff voice, a toothy grin adorning his face. The Hammer Bro looked incredulous.

"Yes, we made sure of that last week," the Hammer Bro explained slowly "there's no way they would be dumb enough to-"

"Well they have!" Declared Morton, pushing the Hammer Bro's face against the window he was looking out of. Though his face was being a bit smooshed against the window, the Hammer Bro could see the newly 'constructed' portal that now stood in Toad Town Square.

"Huh. Alright, fine, they have something new," the Hammer Bro said, his voice a bit smothered due to the aforementioned window smooshing "but we're so low on everything sir. Surely General Wendy or Ludwig can-"

"NO!" Said Morton quickly, grabbing the Hammer Bro by the lapel of his...Shell "We are going to handle this. Prep the Bob-Bombs." The Hammer Bro briefly questioned his line of employment before giving the signal to the coopers around him piloting the battleship. A few button presses later, and the hull started opening.

---------------------------------------

The hulls opened slowly, making those on the ground wait to see what was actually inside the ships. However, it soon became apparent when what was inside started falling to the ground. From a distance, they looked like large black balls, each about the size of a small boulder, falling from the ships with little organization over Toad Town. They occasionally flashed a bright reddish orange, but exactly what they were didn't become apparent until two of them got too close to one another and crashed in the air. The resulting explosion gave away their identity as bombs.

Kieri watched this with wide eyes, quickly channeling whatever ice magic she could in her hands as they got closer and closer to the ground. She was intent on freezing them before they even had a chance to explode, but there would be too many for her to get before they hit the ground. She glanced down to Ainz, hoping his assistance would continue.

"Ah, my apologizes," York stated simply at Roland's instance on getting a move on "there are times where I stop to smell the roses at perhaps inappropriate times. Zach can testify to that." York finished. He was able to keep up with Roland surprisingly well despite helping Ken along, never more than five feet behind the cowboy. It was somewhat slow goings, but York soon arrived at the same destination all the same.

He had just missed Ainz, Vader, and Kieri entering the portal, but he could still see the man with the turret standing guard. And what an impressive turret it was. York was fairly certain not even the FBI had access to a machine quite that intimidating looking, and he couldn't help but wonder if it was as lethal as it looked. He could easily ask the apparent maker of the machine, but it would likely end with him getting blown to smithereens. If The Engineer was that kind of person. York put his index and middle fingers t the side of his head.

Profiling Start

The machine had no black marks around any of its firing holes, leading York to believe that it had yet to actually be used. Furthermore, The Engineer standing behind it didn't look like the lethal sort at all, at least not without reason. A man who could build something like that had certainly killed before, but he didn't strike York as the type who would kill for sport. The nearby crater briefly made York reconsider this stance, but there were no blast marks around the rubble. Whatever made that crater, it wasn't the machine or it's maker, and whoever had had to have gone into that portal.

Before York could consider the portal for profiling however, he noted Roland. The cowboy looked uncharacteristically pale, something York took note of. He didn't think Roland was the type to get scared by a man and his gun, so it had to be the portal that had led them here. He quirked an eyebrow at this.

"Look familiar to you?" He asked bluntly, deciding now was as good a time as any for a cigarette, which he withdrew from his carton and lit quickly, waiting for Roland's response.

It's been a while since I last played Super Mario Galaxy, sorry. I'll make a couple changes to my post.

It's less it's been a while since you last played Galaxy, more that things are a little different for this specific RP. The layout of the village is the same, just not the general appearance.
@Scrapula I'm sorry if I didn't make this fully clear from the get go, but at the moment Toad Town is kind of in ruins? There can still be toads living in their homes, but the houses are anything but pleasant. The homes, that is. Then again, by Harvey's standards...
"Ah. That might be problematic," York commented to Ken upon learning he had forgotten his name thanks to the fall "suppose it won't do any good to ask if you remember the last thing you were doing before you woke up here then." York finished bluntly, deciding to ask everyone he met while he was here the same question. Perhaps there was a pattern to be found in it, and if he could find it, maybe he could get them home...

York's attention was brought back to Ken upon his questioning on Roland, who he noticed had not turned back to investigate Ken when he heard the thud. More of the Clint Eastwood type than the John Wayne type of cowboy he supposed. "Not sure I can call him my friend yet, but he is an acquaintance." York answered to Ken's question. He quickly assessed that Ken had likely suffered a concussion from the fall, figuring that was probably a step below forgetting your own name from a fall, and gently took one of Ken's arms and hung it around his shoulder. It would be no good leaving him behind here on his own, surely.

"The man up ahead is named Roland. He has a lot of titles to go with that name, but you can ask him for the full list when we reach him," York explained, staying near Ken to help him walk "As for me...FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan. But please, just call me York, everyone else does."

Kieri tensed notably when Ainz started picking her up. Had she been able to, she likely would've summoned her sword on instinct then and there, but knowing that would likely end badly for her for once she was glad she had the collar around her neck. She blinked in surprise when she was set upon Ainz's shoulder, trembling just a bit but otherwise sitting steadily as he went to work.

Within seconds, the brace was gone. Kieri gasped audibly when she felt some form of magic wrap around it, having grown up around magic enough to know what it felt like, even foreign magic like Ainz's, putting Ainz more and more as something she could've encountered back home in her mind. She rubbed her neck for a moment, savoring the feeling of having it off and feeling her own magic capabilities return to her. Her wings twitched a few times, more or less checking to see if they were usable again. They were numb, but she knew they'd recover. She looked at Ainz as he walked towards the portal, swallowing audibly before speaking for the first time in what felt like forever.

"T...T-Thank you..." She managed before Ainz stepped through the portal, the glow once again changing colors for a few seconds before reverting back to its original electric blue.

---------------------------------------

The last thing Kieri expected upon coming out the other side of course was being dropped in the middle of an ambush. The toads were still focused on Harvey and Japser, though Jasper was looking more and more amused by the minute as she planned a path of destruction in her head. The gem glanced briefly over to the entering Ainz and Kieri, but thought nothing of them. At worse, they'd get caught in the crossfire.

"Sir! More are coming through!" Warned Cat T., turning her spear away from Jasper and Harvey and on to Ainz and Kieri. Several other toads followed suit, gritting their teeth as a far larger and more imposing foe sauntered in. Not so long ago, they likely would've turned tail and run, but now they simply could not afford to.

Kieri's eyes widened again at the sight and she quickly leapt off of Ainz's shoulder, landing on the ground in a crouched position. Upon standing back to her full height, she had summoned her Holy Water Sword, wrapped in median cloth to hide its true value to any greedy on lookers. She made a point of not yet unwrapping it, knowing the situation would likely break down into full on combat. "S-Stay back!" She warned the toads, who held their ground.

@Deathxthextree
York was quick to note the odd amount of titles that Roland seemed to carry for being a simple looking cowboy, but figured this was neither the time nor the place to be questioning oddities. That in mind, he merely reached into his coat pocket and flashed his badge at him once his introduction ceased.

"FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan," York introduced himself as before tucking away the badge back where he found it "but please, just call me York, everyone else does." He added as an addendum before moving to start following Roland. At least, he was, until he heard Ken fall out of a tree not too far behind him.

York paused in his stride to follow Roland and quickly shifted gears, heading over to investigate the noise. Best case scenario it'd be some kind of game and him and this cowboy fellow wouldn't have to starve to death. Worst case it'd be something decidedly more hostile than Roland was to him. York took his chances and approached the downed boy. He looked him over briefly, concluding he was of eastern descent, but decided against assuming anything else.

"I can't place where he'd fit in either Zach. Definitely not in a Western..." York muttered before helping Ken to his feet. "Nasty fall you took there kid. My recommendation would be not to climb any more trees." York suggested simply.

----------------------------

Kieri's attention was dragged away from Darth Vader's face by Ainz's words. She had been unaware that the skeletal man had been scanning her, eyeing her, and if she had been she'd probably be even more terrified than she was right now. As it was, she sat frozen as Ainz held out a hand to her, though she did wince a bit. Ainz was standing right next to Darth Vader after all, and when he held his hand out...Well, that had not gone well for Jasper. She clenched her hands into fists, barely even noticing as Harvey abandoned her and squirted himself into the portal, only daring to even breath again when Ainz lowered his hand.

She listened to what the skeleton had to say afterwards, briefly weighing her options. On the one hand, getting the collar off would be absolutely spectacular, and pretty much all she had wanted to happen ever since she woke up. On the other, Ainz apparently was intent on making Kieri his ally by force. This was something that Angels were familiar with, but that didn't mean it felt good to be on the receiving end. On the other...If she did refuse, she'd incur the wrath of two hellish looking beings. In the interest of self preservation, Kieri nodded slowly at Ainz's words.

Jasper had forgotten about Harvey during the formation of the portal. While her initial thoughts had been Blue Diamond coming to pick her up and take her back to Homeworld, she dismissed that thought outright once the portal formed. If it was the work of Blue Diamond, it would've been a teleportation pad, not an arch. Homeworld hadn't used those things for centuries now. Besides, in hindsight it would've been Yellow Diamond coming for her, not Blue Diamond.

Before Jasper could really investigate who was responsible for tossing her into this mound of Earth and accost who was responsible, she caught Harvey...She honestly wasn't sure how Harvey was doing that. She assumed that those of his kind would have to store up water in order to do that, but she didn't see any source of H2O around. Still, she decided not to dwell on it-her target was getting away.

"Oh no you don't!" Jasper said with a snarl, charging after Harvey and diving into the portal after him. The portal seemed to flash purple with each person going into it before returning to its original electric blue light.

--------------------------------

"What do you think it is General Shif T.?" Asked Blot T., scratching his black spotted mushroom hat as he poked the portal that had just appeared in town square with a spear. It was probably the best looking structure in Toad Town, considering the the misfortunes that had befallen the town recently. Building were smashed, craters had been made in the pavement, and the castle...Blot T. didn't even want to look at the princess' castle across the lake. Not since Bowser had gotten a hold of it, and then some.

"Beats me," Shif T. finally responded, narrowing his eyes at it and quirking an eyebrow "but we have to assume that it's something to do with Bowser. They know we're here, after all."

"Yeah..." Offered Cat T., rubbing underneath her nose as her red curls bounced with each movement she made "so should we stand guard in case anything comes through?" Shif T. paused at this. He turned to face the dozen or so toads that had accompanied him on this impromptu reconnaissance mission. He maybe three or four more troops back at the base, at best. Could he really risk leaving someone here if this was a King Koopa plot?

Before he could truly dwell on it however, the portal's purple glow changed to an electric blue glow, and out came Harvey and shortly after Jasper. Jasper spotted the fish man quickly and moved to pick him up again, rage in her eyes and her motions...Until she noticed the twelve spears that were currently pointed at her person. Jasper towered over the toads before her, and she knew that she could probably crush them all easily if she so wanted, but...She had been having a long day. She could use her entertainment.

"State your identity and purpose, now." Shif T. said simply, his squeaky scratchy voice trying to sound intimidating almost sending Jasper into hysterics by itself.

It wasn't a perfect gathering, The Creator mused. There were still some notable stragglers, but The Creator supposed that they didn't all have to be there. They sighed, rubbing their temple briefly as they looked upon the mess of papers still strewn out before them. They had to find a place where this group could be tested, to try and weed out those who simply wouldn't work for one reason or another. It was daunting, to be certain, but The Creator had something in mind...

Soon, The Creator found what they were looking for. A land where the hills had eyes, fungus and turtles reigned supreme, and a single man could conquer an army. At least, that's how it was supposed to be. The hills still had eyes, unaffected by the Spark, but everything else was far, far out of order. Taking a deep breath, the creator laid the piece of paper in their hands across the paper that held the temporary world everyone found themselves on, essentially creating a bridge between the two. Of course, it wouldn't be a literal bridge...

----------------------------------

It was times like this Kieri hated the brace the most. If she could fly, this wouldn't have been an issue-she doubted Jasper would've been able to keep up with her if she took to the air, and even if she could then she'd have access to her sword and her magic. It would've been an even fight! More than that though, if she could fly right now, she wouldn't have run into what looked like death himself and his skeletal cousin.

Kieri's pale face went paler as she looked up at Darth Vader and Ainz, blue eyes shaking and mouth agape again. He truly did look like death, albeit with less red and much, much more black. Ainz's appearance did little to put her at ease either, figuring that skeletons should not be external like that. She clung to Harvey perhaps a bit tighter than she should have, forgetting momentarily that Jasper was more or less right behind her. She only remembered when she heard the ground getting tossed up behind her as Jasper barreled towards her. She closed her eyes and braced for an impact that never came.

She opened one eye slowly, able to see that Vader now had one of his hands outstretched and that the noise of Jasper's approach had ceased. Before she could turn around to check, Vader had chucked Jasper away and sent her crashing into a mound of land nearby, a small crater forming from the impact. She stared at the impact site for a moment until Vader spoke again, his booming voice and mannerisms commanding attention of anyone around him. And so Kieri gave him that, shakily working her way back up to her feet and letting go of Harvey.

The Angel bit her lip, knowing she would've been more than happy to explain what was happening here if it weren't for the damned brace. She was about to go through the same routine of trying to mime to these two newcomers what she wanted when the blue light happened. Kieri froze in place and glanced over her shoulder slowly.

It was an electric blue pulsing ball of light, perhaps five meters or so behind The Engineer, that glowed brightly enough to be seen all around this small island. It was hard to stare directly at, Kieri having to shield her eyes just to look at it. It was almost like a blue star, she figured. At that moment, the noise of shifting ruble hit Kieri's ears, and she turned towards where Jasper had been tossed away, watching as the Quartz warrior emerged from the wreckage with merely a few scuff marks.

Jasper shook her head as she stood up, groaning for a moment before fixing her eyes back on to Harvey and Kieri. At least she did until she realized what was happening just a few short feet away from her. Her eyes were drawn to it, eyebrow quirking a bit in surprise. 'Blue Diamond must have gotten word of my disappearance.' She thought optimistically, but it was not meant to be. After a few moments, the ball of light started to form and shape, eventually making a solid stone arch with the same bright blue light swirling in the middle of it. On the keystone of the arch was a wooden plaque that read 'Toad Town'.

A ways away, York could see the pulsing blue light from the forest as it lit up the sky like a light show. He watched it in fascination, rubbing his chin a few times before it ended as the portal formed. When it finished, York spoke up. "Looks like something we should investigate. Don't you agree, Zach?" York spoke aloud.
Sounds about right. I'm gonna work on getting the plot moving now I suppose.
