Yay!! I’m kinda stupid busy through the weekend, but I will try to throw an intro post together in the next couple day! Still have no idea what I’m doing for the egg lol. Also, you mentioned the players getting money as part of that starter bundle… is that the 500p that are on our CSs?
Oooh another slouchy “I don’t like contests because of bad family experiences person” lol. Our characters would probably know of each other’s family members because they’re both big in the contest business, if the girls haven’t outright met before (though Kazu’s never been to Starre, so only if Alex went out of the region).

Yay I’ll be sure to put the asterisk there before I move her over. To be honest I put the life orb there on a whim because I saw in the description you had for magic guard, the ability the Clefairy line can have, it lists life orb damage to the wielder as being negated, and I was like “oh sure that seems neat and useful and I don’t wanna bother looking up other items.” Those numbers seem fine to me?
@Brose my character is also done! please give the cs a look when you're able. i did end up giving my starter an egg move, so please let me know if there's an issue with it.
I think I also vote for system 2, with the caveat that the game we’re playing may evolve or we might have to be flexible, because unless we really want to atomize all the modifiers and circumstances, there are just going to be ways in which the game mechanics are not going to be compatible with the world building. If I have a Caterpie, and Rayquaza descends from the sky and uses twister, I don’t care that it’s just a 40 power tier 1 move, my bug is getting thrown into the sea. If I throw out a Magnemite against a Diglett, and it uses magnitude, it’s hitting my dumb magnet orb with a quadruple effective move when that stupid thing is floating in the air… how? I think we’re just gonna have to be a little comfortable evolving the rules, or at least being very conscientious with how we flavor the text when we write out and justify the mechanics of the scene, as necessary for the circumstance.

I’m also team animal-sounds as opposed to pokemon names for their cries lol.
@Brose So i've got most of my cs done aside from a few little things, but some questions that came up as I was making it:

1) for contest moves, are we going with the contest effects, or supercontest effects, because they vary?

2) looking through the battle mechanics, there's no real purpose for a stronger move that has the same basic effect as a weaker move, right? for example water gun is functionally the same move as hydropump in a battle it looks like, right?

3) do natures have any functional effect within the rp?

4) the free egg can’t have egg moves, but can the starter or other found pokemon have egg moves?
