Hi my name is Cadday. I like writing and enjoy doing so in groups. My pronouns are They/them, but answer to anything. I am a parent and work at a school so can be busy most days but post fairly consistently at least once a week if my turn. I am on EST time but it doesn't effect my responses. I do art commissions, pm me if interested.

Kamui was certainly an interesting team mate. But Shinda was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth as he continued up the path. At least when he inevitably fell off, he could already imagine Shumatsu cackling, he wouldn't splatter on the ground. Boulder going right was called up over him and Shinda scowled. This was not going well already, and dodging while climbing was harder then anticipated. Shinda didn't have much prepared in way of dealing with falling large objects and any delay like this was going to slow them down more and more. They needed a better plan. But he would have to figure something out about this boulder before that. Neither of his teammates seemed prepared or keen on throwing themselves at it.

"I've got this one." Reaching out to the rope the long haired shinobi wrapped it around his waste to support himself and lean back enough to aim his bow at the incoming rock. Shinda drew back his bow string, with nothing on it and released it. A burst of wind shot from the bow impacting the boulder, while it did next to zero noticeable damage, the boulder rotated slightly and flew back some missing the group and hurtling the rest of the way down the cliff side. Shinda took a steadying breath and readjusted his position on the cliff.

A voice from below had him glancing back at Kamui, the other suggested he add some impact to his arrows, and while Shinda was a little embarrassed not being prepared, he nodded seriously before handing back his quiver. He would have to prep better next time. While the wind release was certainly doable for him, he wasn't exactly at the point where he could use it frequently in any situation. He made a mental note to focus on that in training in his free moments. The team work was good though, it meant that they would be able to fill in lacking gaps. Maybe his brother intended this with this exercise...or maybe he was just being lazy and taking a nap at the top of the cliff or something. They continued their climb up to the top, and maybe Shinda was feeling a little confident. This team thing might be good for both himself and Shu.

"Rei let us know if you hear anything. There can't be that many boulders nearby it's going to be noisy if he needs to get more...or maybe he won't and it will be an easier climb." Or maybe he would throw a tree...Shinda banished the thought from his head or tried too. Shumatsu was kind of a dick...

Academy was very routine. Shinda had gotten used to it in all things following a certain pattern. He got up in the morning, made breakfast for himself and Shumatsu, packed lunch and walked to the Academy where he and Rei awkwardly greeted each other. Had classes, ate lunch together, and then sat near enough that people at least said they were friends. Today decided to be different, and having even known that it likely would be Shinda still was oddly not prepared for the assigned teams decorating the board. Their class was small, not really anyone of note in his opinion, and the names sorted them into what he assumed was an attempt at making balanced teams. Or maybe not he wasn't sure. What he was sure of was that Rei and him were going to continue to be some semblance of friends? Before he could really think more on that the door slammed open. Shumatsu stood in the door way in his odd hunched over way that he associated with him stumbling into the house past midnight after spending the evening who knows where. He loudly declared that he was picking Shinda up and the younger brother slowly blinked in response before standing and startling slightly at the fact his brother was their apparent sensei. Shinda scrambled after his brother after he made no attempt to wait for him, he knew better then to wait to long otherwise Shumatsu would fuck off to drink or something. Shinda awkwardly grabbed Rei's hand when he worried they were falling behind and checked to make sure the other teammate, Kamui Kaguya, was keeping up. They made their way to a training field, and then Shumatsu was introducing himself, and telling them to climb a cliff that was not the mostly friendly looking in appearance before sundown. Shumatsu left before Shinda could force out a question of comment on the situation. Rei approached the wall with some sort of positive comment and began climbing. Shinda nervously watched him start and glanced at Kamui.

"Boobytraps? You think...I don't know if Shumatsu would put in the effort..."

Shinda shifted uncertain again looking around, he was hoping for some sort of dirrection but he didn't see any indication, Shumatsu wouldn't have bothered with that either. Rummaging around his bag, he pulled out a rope before tyeing it off on an arrow. Glancing at Kamui he shrugged before firing it up higher on the cliff. The rope dangled next to Rei, and didn't make it too far up but at least it would give them a stopping point. Tough he wondered how much weight it would even hold...maybe it would at least slow a fall.

"We won't know much till we try? If we can get a good enough footing we can make stopping points as we go so we aren't rushing to the top, maybe figure out a way to catch on to something if we fall..." Shinda pulled himself up behind his team mate, he was going slow, partially because he was nervous about whatever Shumatsu was planning, if anything, and also partially because if he worse himself off halfways up a cliff it wouldn't be ideal. "We should pace ourselves as best we can, it's after midday but we have a few hours before it starts getting dark so we should have plenty of..." The small pebbles and rocks and dirt falling over head was all the warning they got before a much larger boulder came toppling over well above them.

Shumatsu should have known this was coming. Years and years of having to babysit at the stupid academy should have been a sign, that inevitably he would be should into a sensei position for whatever team of twerps his younger brother was stuck with. The sound was not a large village, their resources were limited. As were actual qualified Jounin so it was no wonder why this had happened. Also probably he pissed off whomever was doing the assignments and wasn't that a freakin laugh. He would have to send a personal thank you in the form of a jar of angry bees...then he would have to catch bees, so maybe not.

So for this reason Shumatsu found himself at the academy not to stare at a bunch of children in a classroom and laugh at their misery as he handed them failing grades for whatever test he had been asked to proctor, no he was here to pick up his brat of a brother and two teammates. THREE kids to be responsible for? Had no one noticed how much of a 'stellar' job he did at raising Shinda? Kid couldn't hold a conversation with a rock.

Shumatsu opened the door to the classroom with what was probably an unnecessary amount of force judging at the cracking sound in the wall and the sensei looking startled who was handing out assignments. She stared at him warily as he stared back before turning to look at the students in the room. Graduation class looked small this year...actually no it was probably the same. It would be smaller in a year or so anyway, when kids moved up to chunin and then didn't come back from missions they couldn't handle...

"YO! Shinda I'm here to pick you up from school!" He waved at his brother who blinked slowly and waved back trying to match the energy Shumatsu was giving off. What a little freak. "Yeah you and whatever little delinquents have also been foisted on me. What are there names?" The sensei scrambled to read something off the paper in hand before Shumatsu cut them off.

"Who cares. Probably not going to pass the next step anyway. WELP! Let's get the frick out of this dump. Hurry your asses up." Then he turned on his heel and sauntered back out the way he came. If the little shits didn't come that meant he wouldn't have to worry about a team after all. A win for him. Unfortunately he could hear more then Shinda scrambling to follow so it seemed luck wasn't with him today.

He walked till they were a decent enough distance from the school, in what could have counted as a training ground if you squinted hard enough and then rounded on the team.

"I don't care much for introductions, honestly it's not my business if you want to get to know each other. I'm Shumatsu, Im your sensei till you fail this first test then you can fuck off and I don't want to hear from you again." Shumatsu pointed at the cliff face nearby. "See that thing. You all get to the top you pass. Easy peasy right? All of you to the top got it? One of you doesn't count, sometimes you gotta carry dead weight. So figure it out." With that Shumatsu leaped up to the top of the cliff before peering down to the edge and calling back. "YOU HAVE TILL SUNDOWN!"

Shinda is a friendly individual if not very shy. While he isn’t outwardly rude his awkwardness and lack of people skills can come off that way. He doesn’t get offended easily, and finds insults to be just a common term to use for others or towards himself. Random hostility doesn’t surprise him either. Shinda struggles with any situation where he is faced with random acts of kindness, he does not receive gifts or compliments well and usually expects an ulterior motive. Death does not phase him, nor does gruesome scenes. He can be insensitive to others feelings with how he speaks. .

Shinda does not know his parents, in retrospect he wonders if they even named him, Shumatsu has been his only family for so long he had learned to not question it. Certain things were a constant in his life, while his family was not present Shumatsu did share what little he knew of their clan and lineage with him, he taught him what jutsu seemed important. He took over the parental role for Shinda to an extent when he was in the village, otherwise he was left with nurses at the hospital, the only people Shumatsu seemed to trust Shinda with when not around. This also was probably influenced by Shinda’s poor health. The boy was constantly chilled to the bone and frequently developed a cough or fever. The village was an odd place, for all Shumatsu snarked about them being comrades he seemed to not trust any of the people around him. Shinda quickly learned that no matter how friendly a person seemed it was merely a means to an ends, a façade put in place to lure hapless weaklings to do others' biddings. Kindness did not make you weak but falling for kindness did. Shinda would stick to his brother as often as he could, though it wasn’t always an enjoyable choice. Shumatsu was callous, and not one to withhold his cruller tendencies from his brother. Fights with brutal outcomes Shinda was witness too, drinking, gambling, and cruel words, he was aware of it all. When Shinda was old enough Shumatsu nudged him in the direction of the bare bones academy, but this did not separate the brothers, Shumatsu ended up instruction their out of necessity and eventually Shinda was placed on his Genin team. Shinda is never sure if this is something his brother asked for or merely circumstance, most days he is not certain where he stands with his sibling, nonetheless he continues to follow his lead to whatever end it brings him.

The Dokumo family has toxic blood. This makes them immune to most if not all poisons and the ingestion or contact with their blood incredibly dangerous. As a result of their blood being unique it is almost impossible for them to receive or donate blood safely, and would require a member of their clan to do so.

Shinda prefers to fight with a bow and arrow, while he physically can dodge adequately he is not strong in hand to hand and uses a sword to make up for it. His blade is normally coated in his blood to give himself an upper hand when it comes to combat. While Shinda is not very strong his is very quick and can outrun many his age or level without chakra influence. His chakra control is decent but if he gets flustered his jutsu becomes messy and unreliable.

Shumatsu is a sarcastic and snarky individual. He is relatively easy going, and nonchalant about serious issues. He tends to hold little regard for others, generally being dismissive of others' well being and concerns even when it is life or death. Though he does not go out of his way to be cruel he does not bat an eye at it. Even going so far as laughing some situations off as if it was a good joke. He is not quick to anger but when frustrated has been known to push things to a gruesome point. His little brother gets mocking affection most days and it is unclear if he actually holds real affection for his sibling. .

Shumatsu’s father and mother had him when they were both still young. The marriage was allegedly arranged though Shumatsu does not recall the details, allegedly it was a necessity for them to have a child and so he was born. His parents were not unhappy but there were times that there was a clear tension there not easily resolved, they slept frequently in separate rooms and Shumatsu was often in the middle of the tension. He has vague memories of a grandmother but most of those are muddled with time as she was not around very often, he also has vague memories of other clan members but like his grandmother they feel more like things he imagined as they vanished from his life fairly early on.

Shumatsu received training from both his parents, though they put focus on different things, his mother pushed taijutsu and his father leaned heavily into their family jutsu and genjutsu. His father was also notably very ill for most of his life, being bedridden frequently. His mother was very patient during these times taking extra care of his father but leaving little time for Shumatsu.

At the age of 10 Shumatsu had begun training with other children in a nearby village, it wasn’t a full school per say but it would later become what is now the sounds version of the shinobi academy. Though he equated it more to a boot camp. Shumatsu did not make many friends, he was frequently at odds with the other students, probably having to do with his snarking attitude and habit of laughing as he punched them in the face during a spar. While his classmates disliked him the sensei did not and moved him up to a team within a year of joining the training regiment

Missions were varied, as they were not an official village he was not considered a true genin by many and was frequently placed as if a hired goon. Sometimes he fought alongside shinobi from other villages, it was strange how different he found them from himself. He began to build a reputation as the strange hired hand on jobs who laughed at the dead and was never properly placed. The official founding of the sound brought forth other problems and set some things in place. He was 16 when he was officially given a Jonin title, he was one of the very few at the time and he suspected it was merely to allow them to claim forces they barely had. The academy was founded around this time, a messy disorganized institution and for 2 years he was asked to spend down times between missions assisting in training whomever he could. He was not a popular teacher.

At this time he also was startled to find his mother had had another son. Shinda, his new baby brother. He was confused to have a sibling so late in his life and even more confused when one day he returned home to find his parents gone, and the baby Shinda distraught and alone in his crib. Shumatsu ended up having to raise his brother which forced him to take smaller missions until eventually just taking the role of sensei to his younger brother's team. What happened to his parents remains a mystery but he just tells people they are dead.

Spider Web: After kneading chakra in the body and converting it to lightning, the user places their hand on the ground, releasing a surge of electricity around them in the form of a web, which electrocutes anyone caught in its vicinity.

Thunder Binding: This technique lets the user create a three-sided wall of electricity to bind their opponent. The user must have three conductors to stick in the ground to create the points. Furthermore, once the enemy is inside, if they come into contact with the wall they will be electrocuted. The only way the technique can be broken is if an outside party were to strike one of the walls with a strong enough attack, which will then deactivate the other walls.

Thunderbolt: The user extends both arms, releasing a high discharge through both palms, targeting multiple opponents simultaneously.

Overdrive: the user can speed up the signals that are sent from the brain to the muscles to increase the user's striking speed. The technique also gives the user cutting capabilities from barehanded attacks.

Shumatsu sees no issues with cheating, in a fight their is only winners and people too stupid to not do what’s needed to win. While he does like drawing some confrontations out, if he feels he does not have the upper hand he will take means to ensure a victory, even just a mental one. Shumatsu uses very crude taijutsu, instead of leaning into more efficient means he is not above just beating someone in the face till they are a bloody pulp, does it take longer yes, is it a horrible gruesome mess, yes, and yet this is how he chooses to fight. If called out he laughs that off too and makes light of the other person having a weak stomach.

Vacuum Sphere: The user takes a deep breath and exhales several small blasts of wind chakra that scatters in different directions, making it very difficult for one to avoid without injury. Due to the properties of this technique, the expelled blasts are capable of piercing into and potentially through an opponent's flesh

Poison Breathe: The user bites their tongue to release the toxins in their blood into the air and uses another ability such as Vacuum Sphere to introduce it into the air around them. The toxin is only potent in the air briefly and breathing it in causes pain but not death like full ingestion of their blood would

Dokumo Clan: Consists of only him and his younger brother as the remaining members as far as he knows. Clan symbol is a spider, and has a lot of gothic and death influences to their traditions. Most have been lost to time but there is a family temple that still stands though curiously it is on the borders of the land of fire on land long disputed. The family allegedly had once been allies of clans that eventually made up the leaf but after an alleged betrayal of the clan leader, different history books hold different guilty pirates, they defected and remained in obscurity before rumored to be have wiped out during an incident roughly 80 years ago..

Multi Layered Gale: The user creates a wall of multiple layers of vacuum that are stacked on top of each other

Vacuum Sealed: The user creates a dome of air that sucks the air out of the center of the dome creating a vacuum airless area no more than 5 feet in diameter.

Poison Breathe: The user bites their tongue to release the toxins in their blood into the air and uses another ability such as Vacuum Sphere to introduce it into the air around them. The toxin is only potent in the air briefly and breathing it in causes pain but not death like full ingestion of their blood would
