Also I had a few questions about the roleplay. Like based off the timeline, Albus Potter should be a first year and James Potter should be a second or third year (though I'm not entirely sure which). Are we following this timeline? Like I figure it could be mentioned in passing or something. Also, are we going to have Neville as the herbology professor? Finally, I'm sure you've read a lot of headcanons about muggle born students figuring out how to magic-proof electronic devices (since they're commonly used by most muggles) and I was wondering if we were going to go with that or not. I figured I should ask since my character is muggle born. Thanks so much!
@Fury Panda omg thank you! I love that so much!
@mskennedy615 @jeyma yeah, it's mentioned in the books that Hermione's parents go to Diagonal Alley in either the second or third book? If I remember correctly, Molly and Arthur help them exchange muggle currency for wizard currency
Hey guys, just an update. I'd like to have at least one more person before we officially start, but I promise we'll have started by this time tomorrow
"I know what you mean," Alvina said, sipping her coffee, "Nowhere feels safe anymore. At work, I always feel like someone will come threaten us with guns or something. I'm glad the library doesn't keep much money around."

She swung her feet, the toes of her shoes brushing the concrete. "It's ridiculous, honestly. About a week ago, some jerk broke into my car. The window was broken and everything. All I had in there was $20. Like, the window repair is more than that." She sighed.

"Not to mention, a girl in my class recently dropped out because she was sexually abused by her ex-boyfriend, who's in one of those gangs, and his buddies. She was too scared of one of them showing up to hurt her again to even go back to school. I wish someone would do something about it. It would be nice not to worry when I'm alone in my apartment that something bad will happen."

Viola Stratton: Flourish and Blotts

Mary and Marshal had listened quietly to the conversation between the shop owner and the man who was likely here for the same reason they were. Mary noticed the boy, clearly this man's son, and thought that perhaps they could make an early attempt at getting a friend for Viola, or at least he could be a familiar face when they left to take her to the train station in a few days.

"Yes, that would be very greatly appreciated." Mary smiled politely at the man. "I'm Mary Stratton, and this is my husband, Marshal," Marshal matched his wife's civil smile, and Mary continued, "we're here with our daughter, who's... somewhere around here. As you can probably guess, we're navigating in the dark here. We didn't even know magic existed until Viola received her letter!"

Viola could hear her mom talking about her from where she was in the shop. She held onto the book about curses and started making her way over to where she had left her parents, figuring that she would be needed in a matter of minutes.
