Piper Morgan
Port Crescendo East Academy | Cafeteria

Piper shoved her way through a crowd of students in the hall, each heading to their next period amidst the chaos that came with the school bell. When a rather brutish looking senior blocked her path, Piper was forced to sit still and patiently await the swarm to disperse. Tapping her foot with an irritated glare plastered across her face, her arms folded across her chest. A few students made comment on her perturbed nature before going about their day. After what seemed like an eternity, the hallway was silent. Yet even with the meathead jock nowhere to be seen, Piper was still standing in the exact same spot. She scowled, irritated by the homogeneity of it all.
"Damn sheep," She spat, directed at no one in particular. Or perhaps it was for everyone? Every single student who walked these halls day in and day out, rising with each bell like a well trained dog. How could they stand it? The thought alone drove Piper insane. Her mother's words echoed through her mind.

Please, do it for me? Just try to live an ordinary school life. Her teeth clenched at the thought. Ordinary? Who was she to decide what was normal. If normal meant enduring the torment of generic student life then Piper wanted no part of it. Strolling through the now empty halls, Piper opened up her network and scrolled through a selection of data. The fingers on her right hand flew across a holographic interface, inputting some basic commands. The world outside of her Enlil Network just seemed to fade away as Piper hacked her way through a few of the schools defensive encryption. It was pretty standard stuff, but still nothing to scoff at. Unfortunately for Port Crescendo East, Piper was a little too good. In front of her, Piper brought up the attendance log which each teacher submitted to administration to report missing students. With a few button presses, Piper sneakily removed any trace of her cutting classes from the data.

The concept of an ordinary life was just something boring people with no drive made up to justify their mediocrity. Piper was better than normal. The people around her just didn't see it; and as a result she'd spent a lot of her youth hopping from town to town. Wherever she went, she put her skills to good use. There were always those who didn't appreciate that. As she approached the cafeteria, Piper convinced herself that this was why she had to keep going. The thought of being seen as an ordinary student sickened, no frightened, her. Standing tall, Piper closed her interface before being met with an energetic woman who looked like a senior. Her long, black hair was gorgeous; but unfortunately eclipsed by the utter mess she was making.

Piper was about to sneer at her invite, ready to lash out with some searing rejection, until the plate of sliders was placed before her. Her posture loosened immediately, almost salivating at the sight! Perhaps this girl was a potential client who had heard of Piper's little favors? Sliding into the seat across from Aofie, Piper beamed gleefully.
"Don't mind if I do!" She sunk her teeth right into one of the burgers in front of her. As soon as the juicy, succulent beef danced along her taste buds, she let out a squeal of delight. She was so absorbed in her food that she didn't even notice Widget playfully hovering around the stranger, who seemed equally enamored with the little robot.

"Food always tastes better free!" Once she had swallowed her mouthful, Piper leant in close to Aofie and rested her elbows on the table between them. "So, what do you need done? Homework answers? Dirty secrets?" The hacker had grossly misinterpreted Aofie's gesture, though why else would someone be willing to offer her free food?
I've been pretty swamped this week, so I haven't had a chance to sit down and flesh out the rest of my posts. In truth, I was also going through a bit of writers block

Thankfully, @Migyudon has taken the initiative and had Aofie interact with Piper, so that makes it easier for me to get something out. Will start working on that now.

EDIT: It's a little rushed, but I wanted to get something out. I'm not feeling too great atm either, but I'll start drafting out my response for Jayce.
I'm planning to post for Piper tonight, and if there's time I'll start my response for Jayce.

Port Crescendo East Academy | Detention Room

Jayce watched Felicity lay into the new detention members with an ear to ear grin plastered across his smug face. Their plan to utilize Felicity's Tablet Power had definitely eased the burden of school life. Of course, they had to use it strategically. Miss Bowers usually ran detention two times a week, giving the gang a consistent period in which they could use Felicity's talents to deceive and lure her away from her post. The first time they attempted this strategy, Felicity had mimicked another teacher who had told Miss Bowers that she had been relieved for the day. That one wouldn't work all the time, and the trio had made a game of coming up with new and varied excuses to get her out of the room for a while. Today Nico had convinced some of his older brothers' friends to vandalize her car, quickly drawing her away to deal with the hooligans. Felicity and Jayce had watched her drive away in her car from the window, snickering at the sight of toilet paper draped all over the vehicle and crude drawings of the batty old hag painted on every available surface. They were quite impressed with how much time Nico's scheme had bought them. Despite their slacker reputation, Jayce and the gang were quite driven should a worthy cause spring up. To them, playing hooky is as good a reason as any to put in a little elbow grease.

Jayce's face lit up as two of the newcomers took him up on his offer, taking a chair across from him and Nico. From the corner of his eye he saw the pretty boy searing away in his seat all on his lonesome.
Your loss, pal. Jayce thought, sighing before directing his full attention to Osman whilst he raved about Ellie's heroic deeds. She looked less than impressed by the squirts boasts. Perhaps even a little embarrassed? It was hard to tell. Jayce was aware of Ellie, but never really had much of a chance to talk to her. Her polite and quiet mannerisms were suggestive of someone with much more finesse and elegance than he had initially thought. Osman on the other hand, spoke with a more casual tone reminiscent of Jayce himself.
"One punch? Pretty sick." It was hard to tell from behind his glasses, but Jayce was staring at Ellie in amazement. If what he heard was the whole truth, then this girl must be the real deal. Jayce's bewilderment quickly turned to realisation. "So ya got booked for un-ranked fighting on school grounds? Pretty noble for you to take the fall to protect some kid. You've got guts."
"Bet that chump over there's feelin' pretty freakin' embarrassed huh?" Nico spoke up, just loud enough so that Seisil could hear him. The eager smile and intensely focused gaze suggested he was looking for the bully to offer some form of rebuttal. Fortunately, Felicity's warning came just in time to remove any conflict that may have begun. Taking their places as actors would on a stage, Felicity watched as the new kid was thrown into the detention room. At first he was a bag of nerves, whining and shaking like a sad puppy. Then over time he started to grow strangely excited. Jayce rested his elbows on his desk, curiously watching the boy as he unloaded his barrage of questions onto who he assumed was actually the detention teacher. Once the brutish disciplinary committee member had departed, leaving behind only Icarus and a closed door, she held up her hands in protest to the chirpy lad's inquiries.

"Hold up, little dude," She spoke in her normal voice, juxtaposing with her withered old appearance in a most vexing way. The facade of Miss Bowers melted away and Icarus was left face to face with Felicity Day. "You picked a great day to get put into detention. We're like, kinda using this as a way to skip class. Kick your feet up and relax!" With that she ruffled Icarus' hair, offering the same sentiment that she had to Osman. Once again resuming her post, Felicity drowned out the rest of the room and opened up her network interfaces to resume messaging her friends.

"Don't sweat the detention details." Jayce called out from the back of the room, gesturing Icarus over as he had done to the first two. "You'll probably get a letter sent home, but that's a problem for future you, my man." Nico once again returned to his place next to Jayce, slapping him another high five in agreement.
"You’re welcome to hang with us. As long as you're not planning to be a nark and dob our little operation in." Nico joked, though there was an air of seriousness to the statement. The trio had worked hard to get this project going, and to have it ruined so early in the year would be a real disappointment. Once everyone had returned to their prior seating arrangement, Jayce realised he'd forgotten something important.

"Man, it's been too hectic 'round here! I haven't even introduced the crew to you guys yet. This dude here is Nico, and that's Felicity," He pointed to each of his friends respectively before sticking a thumb back at his chest confidently. "I'm Jayce. Nice to meet you, my fellow rotten delinquents!" He referred to them by a title Miss Bowers herself had coined for Jayce and his friends. Despite the intent to insult them, it had a nice feel to it. And so, it kind of stuck. Now it was just some inside joke between the trio and their frequent trips to the detention room. The disciplinary committee had them under careful surveillance on school grounds by this point, but little did they know that sending them to detention was only playing into their plan.
@Migyudon Piper is free and is headed towards the cafeteria?

Port Crescendo East Academy | Second Floor Janitor Closet

The intense odour of lemon scented disinfectant permeated the cramped space of the janitor's closet. The room was dark, save for a glimmer of neon blue radiating from the corner. In the dim lighting, the silhouette of various cleaning apparatus could be made out along the rickety shelves. Piles of mops and brooms stacked haphazardly on the top shelf, boxes filled with old rags and sponges on the next and then finally a series of buckets containing a sinister looking substance which was most likely the cause of the suffocating stench.

Huddled in the corner by the ominous light source was a young girl, her eyes cascaded by two floating circles from which the electric blue light emanated. Each circle was a kaleidoscope of color and intricate markings, ones that most would instantly recognise as that of the Enlil Network. Next to her stood an awkwardly tall young man, perhaps only a year or so older than the girl. His mop of light brown hair was messy and knotted, a pair of crooked spectacles sat on his slanted nose. He was frequently re-adjusting his glasses and twiddling his thumbs, his lanky frame hunched over to try and fit in the small space.

"So, um," He broke the silence, warranting an irritated leer from Piper which caused his next words to fumble.
"I, uh, I-I just wanted to know when you'd be finished?" He instantly regretted asking as soon as the question left his lips. Almost expectantly, the young lady offered an arrogant tsk before swiping her hand out in front of her. At her fingertips,
a holographic panel expanded with various numerals and codes displayed. As effortlessly as a dealer spreads out his deck, Piper drew out similar looking screens in a large grid before turning to face the nervous boy.

"Well, Eric," She spat.
"M-My name's Etha-"
"Don't care." Ethan gulped at Piper's harsh interjection, but was otherwise silent at her bluntness. This young first year had gained quite a ruthless reputation in such a short time at the academy. Rumours of people being left nasty little surprises in their Network from an anonymous hacker garnered a certain respect of Piper's skills. Or was it fear?

"I graciously take time out of my busy schedule to do you a solid, and you thank me by complaining about my punctuality?! Hmmph!" Ethan was beginning to sweat, recalling an incident with his classmate in the last few days where his entire personal log had been forcefully displayed on the entire campus' Network page. He quickly stumbled to his knees, holding his hands clasped in front of him in an almost reverent manner. Piper smirked at the gesture.
"Much more like it! Now, let's see where those files are hiding. Widget, status report!" At her command, a new screen opened up to her left displaying a video feed of the outside hallway. A few students walked by, but it was otherwise empty. From the screen, a toneless, mechanical voice promptly spoke in response to Piper's query.
"Second floor hallway: clear. Third period has commenced." Widget's monotonous voice blared through the room.
"Excellent. I'm about done, Widget." Several screens began to flash with the same intricate markings that had appeared over Piper's eyes, various geometrical shapes shifting and reorganizing themselves to form a perfect circle. Once complete, the circle flashed green before several pages of valuable data unraveled themselves before Piper's eyes.

"Amazing! You actually got into Mr Barker's personal data!" Ethan's amazement warranted a devious cackle from the young hacker. Piper began to forward the information to Ethan's profile using a discreet channel, one that'd be relatively untraceable. If the school pursued it enough, they could probably find the source, but Piper doubted they'd be willing to go through all that effort for a few pages of homework answers. If she'd done it right, Mr Barker would be none the wiser to the invasion of his person Network profile.

"Naturally! My reputation doesn't do me justice, it seems!" Piper stroked her own ego, but Ethan was too eager to receive the answers to the homework he had failed to complete the night previously to notice. Just as the transfer was about to complete, the bar froze with Piper's signature encryption hovering in front of it. Ethan stared at her in confusion and was met with an outstretched palm.
"First, there's the matter of payment." Ethan nodded with an awkward smile, stuffing his fist into his jacket before placed a bag of pop rocks into Piper's hand. Piper's wicked expression softened into one of glee, immediately pressing a button to resume the transfer before ripping open the package with her teeth. With one fell swoop, she dumped the contents of the back straight onto her tongue. The tingling sensation of the candy paired so nicely with the bubbly sweetness. If there was ever a time to cry tears of joy, now would be the time!
Sweet ecstasy! God I haven't had one of these in ages! Piper's mind briefly wandered back to the strict rules of her household. The sweetest thing to ever enter that god forsaken place was fruit. One of the downsides to being raised by dentists. Wiping her mouth on the sleeve of her jacket, Piper giggled before offering a polite curtsy to her client.
"Glad to be of help! And remember," Taking a threatening step forward, Piper glared up at Ethan with a look that could only be described as tantalizingly horrifying. "Keep this exchange on the down low. I think you've seen how I deal with blabbermouths." Ethan stepped back, rubbing the back of his head whilst offering a slow bow of gratitude. He made a brief comment about how he'd keep his mouth shut before rushing out the door. Piper waited a few moment before exiting herself, deciding it was too late to make her way to class now. Widget caught up with her as she made her way to the cafeteria, resting on Piper's shoulder before entering sleep mode.

Port Crescendo East Academy | Detention Room

The detention room was mostly empty, aside from maybe two or three stragglers spaced out across a few desks in the room. Each had their nose buried in their textbook, the supervising teacher staring down her long, pointed noise with discontent. Miss Harvey was notoriously stern and was disliked by most of the student body. Her eagerness to host detention was indicative of the pleasure she received from punishing kids. When the door slid open to reveal a few more students, which Miss Harvey immediately identified as Ellie Lunaclad, Osman Cain and Seisil Stamatti. Her eyebrow raised at the sight of them, a sinister smile spreading across her bony cheeks.

"What have we here? More delinquents caught in the act!" She proclaimed, her finger pointing to the ceiling in an almost comical manner. Striding down from her podium with exaggerated movements, Miss Bowers pointed a decrepit finger straight at young Osman. She reeked of cheap perfume. "Your actions disgrace the entire student body! You'll spend the next hour writing out the dictionary like the rest of this sorry lot!" The disciplinary committee member who brought them in offered a perplexed look at the teachers strange mannerisms, but was otherwise satisfied with leaving them in her care. As soon as the door shut behind her, Miss Bowers softened before snickering in a voice that was far too young and chirpy to be hers.

"Hah! What a riot! Can she, like, be any more gullible?" Miss Harvey's image began to fade away, twisting and contorting between her craggy, wrinkled skin and the smooth, freckled complexion of a young girl. Her wiry strands of gray hair flattened into long, gorgeous locks of auburn. Her bespectacled green eyes brightened into bubbly pink ones. Finally, her tacky thrift shop reject nun habit warped into a PCEA School Uniform. In a blink of an eye, Miss Harvey was gone and instead stood Felicity Day; a second year student who frequented the detention room. At the back of the room, Jayce Kyson offered a round of applause.

"Damn, that peformance was absolutely sick. What an absolute champ!
"Was a bit much, though. Tone it down a bit next time, Felicity!" Nico Zarc slid across a row of tables before slapping Jayce a high five. The two began engaging in a casual chat regarding the accuracy of Felicia's impression of Miss Harvey. Meanwhile, Felicity ruffled Osman's hair whilst offering a coy wink to Ellie.
"My Tablet Power. We've been using it since late last year to get away with skipping class. Pretty neat, huh?" Felicity sat by the door, checking her social circles on the network while messages began to flood her interface.

From the back of the room, Jayce called out to the newcomers.
"Yo, don't be shy dudes and dudette. He gestured to a few seats propped up near the table he and Nico were at. "Bring it up the back and then we can jive."

Before Jayce's invitation had a chance to be processed, Felicity rushed back to her feet and made a subtle whistling sound.
"Shit, another one already? Nico groaned, hopping a few tables to get back to his seat promptly. Jayce quickly opened up his textbook again whilst Felicity's form began to morph back into that of Miss Harvey. Resuming her place at the podium, she cleared her throat before beginning to lecture the three newcomers as another young boy was flung into the room.
"Well well! Yet another filthy degenerate to join the ranks! To your desks this instance!"
@KoL I havent posted for my characters yet, so feel free to get involved there!
@RoflsMazoy Replace everyones Network Interfaces with "Technical Difficulties" Screen with a picture of Piper dressed as an electrician.
@RoflsMazoy Yeah there are some Passive Skills that mention being skilled with a particular weapon or having gone through combat training. I don't see how those are going to be 'silenced'. I may edit the ability to only halt Active Skills.

I was thinking the way the ability would work IC is that when succesfully used, the Enlil Network interface begins to flash rapidly like a siren, with like an 8-bit portrait of a grinning Piper blocking out the screens that display Active Skills, Inventory and Communications.
I'm curious as to how Piper's 'Scramble' ability is actually going to interact with some characters Active/Passive Skills. As a standard Silence mechanic, it's easy to see how it could disrupt more caster based characters but what about the characters whose Class Skills are just techniques they use with their weapons?
