Part 1A - Lykantha, the Ashen Wolf @LukasVolkov "Horrors? Oh you are wrong," Val answered to Lykantha's urging. "We are playing the part of the Horror tonight. It shall be our prey that tremble in fear. Kukukukuku.." He continued, his voice tinged with sinister elation.
A vision entered Lykantha's mind. A garden, filled with dying beauty. Two foxes and their cubs were sitting in their den. Unaware. Unguarded. Vulnerable. Her saliva began to pool yet again to the vision.
And with a silent agreement, the Ashen Wolf set foot to her destination. And behind her, Val's visage unraveled into writhing darkness before settling on the Wolf's dagger.
Part 1B - Zeyruun and Akshay @undying curiosity@goodmode "Welcome, Zeyruun and Akshay," the Silver Fox beckoned the two newly reborn mortals. Their forms were complete again at last. "I am known as Allos the Peacemaker," he introduced himself. "And this is my colleague,"
"Flau. Avenger," the Golden Fox passed the proverbial introduction baton on. Unlike Allos, who sounded warm and welcoming, her tone was flat and cold.
And suddenly, it felt like the temperature dropped a degree or two. Ever very slightly, you felt that the delicate balance between beauty and horror in the wilting rose arbor surrounding you tilt towards the latter.
"Hrm. My apologies. She is a person of little words. Trust me when I say she bears no ill will towards you," Allos then said with a cough, as if to rectify the cooling atmosphere. "Now, I know you have a lot to ask. So allow us to show you instead. Flau, if you will.."
With a nod, the Golden Fox rasied to her feet and waved her hand as if to flip an invisible page from an oversized book. Then, pictures and scriptures suddenly appeared before you.
The Age of Deicide
Seeing the World flourishing, Demiurge saw that all is good, and they retreated to their original domain, the Atelier, and took the role of a mere Theatergoer.
The Three Goddess - The Beginning, The End, and The Balancer - continued to nurture the world Ages went by. Creatures evolve, adapt, and improve And finally, civilization were born
Learning of their full potential, the creations began to imitate their creators They pooled their ingenuity, and made creations that they could call their own They altered the natural courses of things, improving their life immensely They were proud. They were content. They were happy. They... Were drunk with the newfound power
It did not take long before the creations started asking questions Why do they have to submit to the wills of the Goddesses?
Why should they follow the cycle of life and death, while they managed to bend literally every other laws of the world? Aren't they surviving on this World by their own Virtue? Their own strength?
Thus, the creations banded together and raised a rebellion against the Goddesses
Their attempt was futile and laughably one-sided After all, they had no power to touch the Realm of God
Yet this did not stop them from trying Try as much as they want - as much as they could - they did And every time, more of the World's vital resources went to waste
Futile attempts over futile attempts later, the creations found themselves spreading thin The resources, previously abundant, were running out at an alarming rate The lives, previously flourishing, were now on the brink of being extinguished
The World was torn beyond repair The flow of life had been disturbed and stifled, that not even Lisami - Goddess of Beginnings, could restore Life at the pace of which Death claimed what was due to them And thus the spiral towards Oblivion continued to gain momentum
The creations realized their mistake, and begged for forgiveness Yet there was nothing the Goddesses could do for them For they had thrown the World asunder beyond repair
It was then that Lemouri - Goddess of Endings - did the unthinkable Overwhelmed by guilt over her hands on the destruction of the World, She ended her own existence And that - was the catalyst that brought upon a new age
With the concept of "Death" disappearing from the World, the creations managed to cling to their feeble life Without Death, Life began to replenish itself
But this comes at a price
Angered - nay - maddened by the death of Her Sister, Lisami swore to bring down punishment over the creations With utter disregard over Her role, She created new form of life - monstrosity beyond any nightmare - and unleashed them upon the World These giants, with nothing but wrath over all things living in their instinct, wreaked havoc wherever they went
They would hunt the creations, smash their homes, tore their bodies, and feast upon their innards And without Death to claim them, the creations had no place to run to Eternal life - what the creations had yearned so over the past centuries - had became an eternal prison, with its key lost to the annex of Oblivion
And thus began the Age of Deicide An age where mortals had successfully slain their God And suffered an eternity of damnation
The two mortals shuddered. Be it over the sheer horror of the visions they just saw, or the disgust of realizing that they were once a part of the creations that so shamelessly destroyed themselves and begged for forgiveness and salvation from the very Being they tried to kill, only they themselves would know.
Before they could react or comment on the vision, however, the hairs on their neck tingled with electricity. Danger is approaching, they instinctively realized. And just as their instinct guide them, the mortals each reached towards their respective Fox Guardian - Akshay to Allos; while Zeyruun, Flau.
Barely reaching their Guardians, a shield and a warhammer materialized at Akshay and Zeyruun's hands. Feeling the familiar weight of their preferred weapons, they twisted their body just in time to block the incoming death. Two obsidian daggers, their blade as dull black as their handles.
The Thousand Blades.
The two warriors stood back-to-back, and scanned their surrounding. Yet their assailant was nowhere to be seen. But just because something eludes the eyes, does not mean they do not exist. The interloper was there. They simply did not know where.
Welcome to the first PvP of the RP This round will be Lykantha vs Akshay and Zeyruun, and to smoothen things up, I will predetermine the end of this battle. Seeing that this is a 2 vs 1, Akshay and Zeyruun will come out on top. Lykantha, however, is allowed to incapacitate one of her opponent before finally losing the fight. As for the detail of how the fight will progress, and when or who of the two will fall, I leave it to you three Take as long (or short) as you want to have fun with this particular battle, but don't drag it out for the sake of dragging out :)
"No, not 'why not go now'," Roland lashed in frustration towards the burly, if not well built warrior-esque human who took the mission as lightly as one would a child's play. "It's not the matter of us saying 'Oh we'd be fine' and magically we'd be fine. That's what my spells do, not reality," he continued his comment.
"Listen. The reason why I showed my magic - while yes, partially for bragging purposes - was to show the limitations of my skills. I do not conjure all-consuming fireballs; I merely tricked my targets' senses into feeling dread of incoming fireball and some sensation of heat," ire and passion filling his voice. "Nor do I heal wounds if some were to be inflicted upon you or me - I merely trick our minds into thinking you're fine, and - with some luck - probably tricking our body into healing faster."
"Are any of you proficient at ranged weapons? Do any of you know first aid? These kind of information are important if we want to attempt a dangerous mission. And let's just forget that for a minute, I don't even know any of your names aside form Ms. Ana and Mr. Miles here," Roland continued to rant.
"Would you really trust your life to a bunch of strangers you've never met before in your life? Because I certainly wouldn't."
Perhaps sensing the awkward air that loomed over the party, their contractor took her leave before telling them to settle this on their own.
"Ah damn, I did it again didn't I?" Roland realized his mistake. He took the adventurers as he would the villagers. Perhaps he had made himself act condescendingly towards the band of merry strangers.
But still. He believed that his thoughts was not wrong.
"Look, I am here for a living. And to earn that, I - well - need to continue living. So unless I know what each and every one of us is capable of, I am not participating on this mission."
Even-tempered and laid back. Though Yasu doesn’t talk much and often wears a stoic expression, she’s a huge softie behind all that glaring and lack of smile. Some people are just born expressionless OK.
Side-note 1: She’s also known to hate unfairness, and can be quite petty. Side-note 2: She's often mistaken as a boy due to her non-existent bust, to the point that she kinda accepted being viewed as a boy
Backstory:
Not everybody has an exciting history. Some people are simply born out of a normal family of a normal lineage, and lead a relatively mundane life. Yasu is one of those people.
She was born in Japan, to two loving parents: Abel Schreiber - a third generation German that moved to Japan after World War II; and Asuka Minori - your everyday office lady. She was born in Kariya district, Japan, and never really moved out since.
If there were ever something that’s out of the ordinary in Yasu’s life, it’d probably be her academic prowess. She was so good at her studies, that even when she was not paying attention to the class, she’d still ace all the tests. While an excellent feat on its own, this had made Yasu feel hollow. Her parents praise her to heaven and back, of course, but she felt no sense of accomplishment. And then there’s also the bullying that comes from it.
Perhaps as an escape to the emptiness she felt, Yasu began to pursue knowledge in places outside of classes. She took part in an inter-school debate class, for example. She attended open seminars - took a dib at public speaking class, too. She listened to psychology podcasts and took online courses on human psyche; all in a search to find what she’s been missing.
The bullying eventually stopped. In fact, due to her now-refined communication skills, her peers have started to shift their view from detestable genius, into a charismatic shadow leader of the students’ board. It was a welcome change, yet still, something felt missing.
Then, one day she found what she was missing.
She was taking a nap at the library back then. She had a dream. A weird dream, yet a very pleasant one. In it, she was a magician: a little winged fairy with her little magician cape and little magician hat. She would fly around the world on her trusty steed - the flying magic cardboard, playing with the stars, the moon, and the lovely children of the night (whatever that was).
For once, she felt fun. Whimsical and silly and absurd, yes. Very. But it was fun!
And when she woke up, the book she slept on had turned into a steel-bound grimoire.
“... What?” She asked. She did not remember taking this particular book. Yet for some reason, she felt the book calling to her. That she and the book shares a certain intimate relationship.
Then, weeks later, a certain Professor approached her with an opportunity to transfer to Silver Gate Academy. Can you believe that? The Silvergate Academy. He said he's a history professor, and the book that somehow came into Yasu's possession is an important artefact for his study and he'd want Yasu's help in researching the contents with him.
Needles to say, Yasu accepted right away.

"Great. This is just great." Roland could not help but shook his head.
"You're delusional," he said to his to-be-contractor. "Tomb raiding by itself is a risky business, but The Tomb of Kings in the Mountain Pass? Do you know how many adventurers had tried and perished while attempting that ancient ruin?"
He'd gush out some more after hearing the more-than-ambitious mission they were going to attempt, but realizing that they would fall on deaf ears anyway, he restrained himself. Instead, he let out a long sigh and plead to the Gods that what he was about to do next was not a wrong decision.
"Fine. If we're going to do this anyway, let's introduce ourselves," he said. At least, by knowing the trades and specialties of each other, there will be a higher chance to survive. After all, if this was the same Tomb of Kings that he had heard the stories about, there's a fat chance of them getting a hold on riches and probably some valuable artifacts, even if they didn't get to reach the end of the dungeon.
"I'm Roland. A wizard," he announced again for the sake of the to-be-teammates that just arrived. "My specialty is, well.. Maybe it's better for you to see for yourselves."
Roland snapped his fingers and all of a sudden, a fragrant smell filled the tavern. Gone were the smell of vomit and urine, and in their stead, smells of freshly baked bread and simmering stew wafted in the air. The humid and stuffy air, too, was replaced by the sensation of cooling, comfortable spring breeze. And for some reason, Roland himself appeared to grow a couple of feet taller and with chiseled muscles.
Of course, none of them were real. With another snap of fingers, everything returned to how it was before.
"Illusion magic. Not the most efficient of crafts, but it sure has its uses," Roland said with a somewhat proud snicker. "So yeah, unless the rest of you could actually do something that's not mere tricks, I think it would be prudent if we just forget the whole thing."
