Nah, you're not banned at all lol.

Soul-linking lasts as long as the character and their guardian want it to. I haven't discussed this with @Obscene Symphony, but I'd say that there is a physical and mental drain when soul-linked due to the stress of basically being two beings in one body, so being soul-linked 24/7 (which I believe is what you'd like to do with your characters?) would be impossible for most people.

Soul-linking can be done outside of battles, but there'd be no point to it due to not needing the power that comes from it while still having to deal with the negative effects.

That all said, though, there are always exceptions to rules. We can definitely work with whatever you have in mind to get your character as close to your vision as possible while still having him/her fit with the world.

@sakurasan
LOL I know! Her head fits the body perfectly, and was the only reason I actually did the image.
@Cenco OH MY GOD I LOVE THEM

u ain't seen nothin yet

WOW look at this obscenely large (RPG coming through with that auto-resize, thanks fam) image that I definitely had ready in the event that anyone asked about uniforms!

As this is basically an anime and not real life, we're going to say that the school does not care at all how your character rocks their fresh uniform, as long as they are wearing it and not running around campus naked. They can wear thigh-highs, have an extra long skirt, wear their tie or bow-tie unprofessionally loose and (@sakurasan) can even wear the opposite gender's uniform should they so wish.

Hurray for individualism.
@sakurasan
An excellent question, and one I'll have to get back to you on shortly.

no im not googling 'japanese school uniforms' to see if there's any good ones shut up
<Snipped quote by sakurasan>

Yep! You speak to everyone in your own language (or whatever language, if you know others) and the person hearing you automatically understands, regardless of their native language. In Aaron's case, he could sign to someone and they would just *know* what he's saying. Someone could speak to him in Japanese and he would just *know* what they were saying. Meanwhile, some normal human would be looking on wondering how a deaf German and a hearing Japanese are having a conversation. Make sense? No language barrier, even though they are speaking different languages.

@sakurasan @Obscene Symphony
Yeah, I'm going to say that they can wander off, but as their job is pretty much to protect and care for their charge, there'd have to be a reason for them to leave for any amount of time.

Regarding how they appear, it was briefly discussed in the last thread, so I'll get it down here.

Basically, the guardian can choose to appear as either their true form or as their butterfly form to other guardians and soul-bound humans. To normal humans, however, they'll always appear as simply a butterfly.

In terms of how they can interact with the world, they're pretty much ghosts that can decide whether they are tangible or not at any given moment. So if they choose to, they can pass through walls, or they can make themselves solid and interact with the real world around them.

I'm not sure if they'd necessarily be stronger around their human, but being close to their human means they can soul-link at any time, which would make them stronger than your average wandering spirit.
@Obscene Symphony
Oh yeah, I had thought about the language barrier but figured there'd be an explanation and I didn't have to worry about it.

I realize now I have to worry about it. Actually no I don't, I like your idea. It's a little hand-wavy for now, but I'm sure we can come up with a somewhat acceptable reason for it later LOL.

I think I prefer the soul-bound characters just straight up being able to understand and speak to each other, without needing their guardians to translate.

@BioHazard
No worries, we're definitely still accepting. I'll look over your sheet now.

edit:
Ninja Obscene, please.
"why is there a guy in the girls dorm?!"

This.

This will be the very first source of conflict in the RP.

You should now all better understand what you've gotten yourselves into.

I think that this frozen fettucine alfredo that I'm eating tastes way better than it has any right to taste.

Also sakurasan's character's abilities are great.

On magic and powers and the like, I'd like to throw out how I'd like to handle it (partially because I realized I have nothing for magic either). The opening post says that basically we're trusting the players to be reasonable with their character's power levels, and I like that. All the player characters are relatively new to soul-linking and spirit fighting, so as long as everyone keeps that in mind, I think it's fine to sort of 'free-style' what our character's magic can do, and have them develop more concrete techniques that we can throw into our sheets as the RP plays out (seeing as the magic system made by Inkd has no set, hard rules to begin with).
