@BurningCold Umm, sooo... hooray for matricide? O.O

Also, accepted.

I do expect the characters to be a bit bareboned in the beginning, especially the dragons seeing as they're like zero years old and barely even aware of themselves (except for certain impatient someones :P). These chars are going to have a lot of development, going from small town nobodies to powerful beings bound to another's life and mind, learning the secrets of the world, struggling against a god-king-esque man bent on their enslavement or death, and that's not even it. People will be watching them with hope and fear, expectations and responsabilities will be heaped on them, and the leaders of the world will be appearing daily in their lives, the most renowned, respected, and powerful individuals in the world- the pressure and the situations they'll be in will definitely give everyone loads of opportunity to show their colors and grow as people.
@ViolentViolet You're fine VV, if you're done by then there'll be plenty of time to pick you up before we leave for the forest, and if not then there are enough reasons to be meandering the edge of the village, everything from exploring to herbs to hunting to just wanting some solitude.

As for my dragon, I think I might do my own guys... Just because as the GM I'm going to need a bit more freedom to wiggle around and manage everything that needs managing and being where someone needs to be.
@Roosan Will do mate!
@Forsythe Great! Are you going to make a rider? And @Gisk do you want to make a dragon too?

Gale grinned slightly at Gren's joke. "Alright, run home and get your gear." He suggested, "If you see anyone you want to come with then ask 'em to come with. We'll meet at the bridge." He hadn't even thought before he said the words, but now that he said them he paused, confused at himself, and yet didn't speak up to correct himself. He and his father did most of the woodcutting to the south, behind their house, so it wasn't the best place to hunt given the noise and sparse trees. Most hunting was done in the north for that reason, heading up along the river in the thicker woodlands. With that in mind, the west was the best place to go hunt, neither over hunted nor overlogged.

To the east was the bridge over the Ramr River where sparse wooded hills steadily broke up until it flattened out shortly and turned into the Hadarac Desert. No one hunted there, not to mention the western portion of the bridge was partially submerged in the swollen river. Despite this, Gale felt it was important that was the way they went. East across the bridge to the hills. The more he thought about it the more certain he became. His bemused expression became firm, and he nodded once as if to say 'yeah, that's right.' Then he promptly spun on his heal and jogged back home to collect his bow and arrows.
@Roosan BC's suggestion is a good one, the journey to the elves might take a while. You can even kill the character off if you don't want to play them when the elves become an option. Their loss is sure to spur some interesting emotions.

Or I can just pm you once we reach Du Weldenvarden. Your choice. :P

@BurningCold I'm going to make a dragon character, and then I'll post it. Everyone else who wants to play a dragon should as well, then we can match them up.

@Forsythe Have you already chosen a rider for your dragon and did the player say yes? Since you don't have a non-dragon character not everyone who's playing a rider needs to make a dragon too, because then that's one dragon more than there are riders, unless people begin making riders.

I have an idea in the works for the Empire that will allow their power to scale as needed to account for more riders, so currently there isn't a limit in place.

I should also probably mention that most options will start opening up as we progress; humans with more varied backgrounds, elves, dwarves, urgals(I guess?). The limits of that world are still in place though, only human-blooded or elven-blooded beings can become dragon riders. (Note the emphasis there: beings with the blood of those accepted to be riders, so half-dwarves/half-humans could be riders. Technically that's theoretical, but... :P)
@Forsythe Sorry, it won't be much longer! Promise!

@BurningCold If people want to make dragons for each other that is fine, and maybe encouraged because then we can send a dragon and rider on a solo mission and the player wont be alone. If you want to do the dragon exchange thing, definitely discuss that now, and remember the personalities of the dragon should be able to at least appreciate their rider's personality, the dragon is choosing the rider after all, this isn't some weird mating ritual where the couple hate each other and inevitably fall in love, they need to have complimentary personalities from the go. Should probably start posting your dragon character sheets about now as well.
@Forsythe That would be a bit silly, but if you really want?

I had more of an idea of turning up at the cache and hatching the eggs for those present all at once. I wasn't going to take very long, somethings a bit odd about Galen, his feelings aren't just feelings, so he's going to beeline straight for the hut.

Though maybe if you can't wait we can say Terryn, the man who found and was trying to smuggle out the eggs, was carrying one on him in case he had to run for it, but then he was caught and tried to send it away a la Arya, but it didn't make it very far?

My only problem is that once a group of boys discover a dragon egg of all things, they won't want to continue exploring and stumble across the cache. That said, I could use Gale's "feelings" to keep them going.
Oh and what's everyone's plans for dragon/rider combos?
Excellent you guys! This is going to hella rad. *insert insane cackling here*

@ViolentViolet We're about to go and have a hunt, how much longer do you think you need for your sheet? No rush, just trying to think of a place to work you in at.
