Note: Custom races requires approval in the OOC before posting!
All of you are different. Some of you may be the same race but your people are different. You have endured different things. You have lived in different lands. No matter where you came from, you are seeking a new life for your people. Whoever your leader is, your people follow with loyalty. Wether you were driven out of your home, or simply seek new lands to call your own, you have all come here without knowing of the others' pressence. You must survive.
Your first choices lie before you. You are...
A) Humans - Basicly average in everything. B) Orcs - Has high strength, low technological capabilities and bad diplomacy. C) Elves - Low reproduction, high magical capability, average strength D) Dwarves - Low reproduction, high strength, low speed, high intelligence, morale boost E) Ogres - Very high strength, low intelligence, low reproduction, high speed and size F) Trolls - Average strength/speed, very cunning, low diplomatic ability, high reproduction, can regenerate fast ((Think the WoW kind of trolls)) X) Other - Please specify averages, strengths and weaknesses.
You land upon the continent, and decide to settle...
Next:
Choose a color to represent your kingdom. May be any single color. This matters because the settlements I put on the map will have text bordered with the color of your kingdom, so that players and non-players alike can see what settlement belongs to who. Additionally, write the name of your new settlement! What shall be the name of your new future?
This roleplay is turn-based. Meaning you get one action every turn. You will be presented with choices labeled alphabetically on how to advance your civ. Every turn, your population grows and you are presented with new choices and sometimes hardships. The roleplay begins with your people coming to a new land, an unexplored continent where anything can happen. You have but a few hundreds with you, and your supplies are low. Perhaps you came here as settlers, or perhaps you fled after your homelands were destroyed, or perhaps you are simply a new civilization that has sprung upon this continent. Whatever you are and wherever you are from, you must find ways to adapt, survive and thrive here. Most certainly there are other civilizations on this continent and other races that may become your allies or enemies, but you do now yet know.
The first turn generally looks like this:
A) Improve food B) Improve military technology C) Improve infrastructure D) Improve culture E) Explore F) Improve resources/technology G) Prospect further H) Expand military I) Take diplomatic action X) Other
Population: 125 men, 125 women, 50 children. Military: - Food level: - Resources: Requires prospection and industry. Wealth: Nonexistant Trade: - Growth: Average Morale: Indifferent Foreign relations: You do not know any other civilizations
Each action from A to I present different opportunities and different consequences (good and bad). You may choose one of these per turn and preferably write up a post about how you, for example, "Improve food". Depending on how good and thought-out your post is, you may combine one choice with another. For example, while improving your "food", you discover how to create farms and thus also improve your infrastructure in the process. the X-action is an action of your own that is not in the list of choices from A to I. You may write and attempt whatever you want in the X-action, and I may or may not grant you what you hope for.
Let's go through the things step by step: Population - Is how big your civilization is. Later on when you build new towns, I will list your towns and cities and what their population is as well as show a total. Military - How big your military might is in the count of forces. Keep in mind that the experience, skill and equipment of the soldiers count into how well your battles will go, as well as what different composition of units you use and how you manouver them. Food Level - Measured from Very Low to Very High, and determines how well your people fare. A low level of food means lesser growth and might cause starvation (people start dying) but a too high food level might cause your people to grow fat. (Generally though, a good food level is always good.) Resources - What types of resources you have at your disposal. Can be oil, minerals, lumber, food, hides, livestock etc. You can use these to trade with other nations and civilizations. Wealth - How wealthy your people are considered to be. Poverty may result in discontent among the lower-class, but a too high wealth may result in luxurious spending which may crash your economy if your economy takes a bad blow. Trade - How much you trade with other nations and what you gain from it. Measured from Very Low to Very High, but only once it is existant. Growth - How well your population is growing. Determined mostly by food level but also morale and other things. Measured from Very Low to Very High. Morale - The morale and spirit of your people. Measured from Very Low to Very High, with "Indifferent" acting as a middle-point. This determines how well you fight, how well your people works and generally how well things are going in general. Foreign relations - A list of other civilizations you've met and how you feel towards each other. Ranges from Hated Enemies to Beloved Allies. Also determines how well you manage to trade with them and how they react towards you when interacting with non-player nations.
So how do I start?
Easy! This roleplay begins unlike many other roleplays. Here, you choose your race right off the bat in the IC thread. You will be presented with a list of available races (or asked to make your own, which requires approval in the OOC first), and everything will be determined in the IC thread. I will create a map where you will choose a starting spot after you've chosen your race. From there, the roleplay begins with turn 1. A sort of "fog-of-war" will be present on the map, that will show you how much of the continent you've explored and what other nations you can see. When you meet another nation and manage to befriend them, you will be able to see their holdings on the map. Keep in mind that if you have not met a non-player nation but another player has, it will still be seen on the map so I expect you not to metagame.
TL;DR: once the IC first post is up, you may jump right in! You don't even need a sheet! If you choose a custom race, you MUST specify it with weaknesses, strengths and averages in the OOC first and await approval.
Make sure that there is room to join first! Below you will find a list of active players, and att he very top of the thread there should be a "status" line with either green, yellow or red text. It's either open, pending or full. If you want to hop in with a custom race (aka; a race not specified in the first IC post, check it out first) you'll want to post it here in the OOC first to make sure it will fit alright into the world.
Rules and regulations:
All roleplays have rules. I expect you to know the basics like:
Don't godmode
Don't metagame
Don't be an asshole to other players
However there are some other rules you should know about:
Never wipe a player out completely unless he or she has given his or her consent.
Don't focus on "winning", it's about playing the game and enjoying it together.
It is okay to attack or raid another civilization freely as long as you have discovered them and scouted out the target first. Just don't expect it to always go your way.
Don't expect to never be met with setbacks or hardships. I will give you all good and bad consequences as well as random events depending on your choices.
My word is law. As the GM, I reserve the right to "toss you out" of the RP, and in conflicts or squabbles I have the last say.
Also, here are some regulations that aren't "DON'T"'s
Non-player nations are free to be conquered, raided, wiped out or otherwise warred with however you want.
Any questions and OOC-chat should be kept here in the OOC thread (obviously).
When plotting with a player against another player, I recommend you take it to PM to avoid metagaming.
When plotting as mentioned above, I want to be kept in the loop as the GM, to avoid misunderstandings and to avoid conflicts OOC.
You may otherwise choose PM or public IC post however you wish when communicating with other nations.
If you don't want to play one civ anymore but rather want another, tell me in the OOC and I will arrange a "natural disaster" for your people or take it over as a non-player civ.
When starting over with a new civ, you will be given some bonuses to help you catch up, but not too much.
There is no enforced limit of posts per turn, however you may only take your A-I choices once per turn. Also, don't speedpost. I want to see meaning and depth in those posts if you decide to post several per turn. (When you interact with other players this is crucial)

So a few more days turned into 2 months appearantly and I haven't RP'd since. I think I'll put this one on hold for now if that's okay with you. Sorry :c
After a while, Gabriel shifted back into his human form, oddly enough still wearing his clothes. Her brother's clothes. "Geez.. I don't bite, come closer... Asshole." He approached her where she sat on the ground, and sat down beside her. "So.. You're a wolf.. You changed over the years..." she whispered, but Gabriel could hear. "I thought you were going to Kelsey, yeah." Gabriel said softly as he began to fondle with a rock in front of him. "She's a hunter like your dad was, and she could tell instantly that me and my friends were actually... Well, yeah." he said. He didn't know what to say really.
"Have you ever heard of how Werewolves come to be? How people like me actually come into existance?" he began suddenly. "I understand that you must hate me for what I have done to you. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you sooner, it's been... Tearing me apart. I love you, Vanessa." He swallowed a lump in his throat before continuing. "I think I had a family once, too. I mean, I can't really remember anything since before the night I turned, but... I just feel it. I don't know where they are now, or if they're even alive... But I suppose they aren't around anymore since I've never met them." he said. He began telling his story softly. "Forgive me for speaking of this, but the night I ... The night your family... The night I gave you that scar, was the night I turned. I was a human just like anyone else, probably living in these woods just like you before I was turned. One way or another however, I was, and when the first night comes..." he stopped, shivering. He didn't want to think more about what he had done before he had regained his mind, but he had to. For her. "The first night is the worst. You lose your mind to your new primal instincts and go on a rampage, destroying anything in your path. That's exactly what I did, and... I... I know you'll never forgive me, but please understand that I never wanted to kill anyone. I never wanted to hurt anyone. I fled to the city, took care of people like me who couldn't take care of themselves, to try to atone. Not a single day goes by that I don't think of what I have done, Vanessa, and it was done against my own will." he said. In the end, he finally gathered the strength to look her in the eyes. He had stopped fondling that rock nervously. "But now... I can't accept your kindness. I must decline your hostpitality. You have been a godsend to us, Vanessa, truly... But now Kelsey knows and there are probably more hunters in these woods. Me and my pack have to go back to the city, or else we risk getting killed. I can understand if you want revenge on me for what I have done, but please spare my friends. Jaze is a friendly soul who never hurt anyone, not even on the night of his turning. Robyn and Thomas are just kids, and Conrad... Well Conrad is like a father to them." he begged. Perhaps Vanessa could convince Kelsey not to hurt the others, if indeed more hunters came around the corner. It was just a matter of time.
Julius slept that night, somehow. It felt like he was split apart on the inside, like a wound that wouldn't close was constantly bleeding within him. But somehow he slept, a dreamless uneasy sleep that left him wondering if he had slept at all when he woke up the next morning. His mind was still lingering on what he had experienced while being gone, but... He couldn't quite remember. He remembered the endless void, the blackness of death and the emptiness it brought with it. But what had it actually been like to be dead? He couldn't explain it if someone were to ask him. It was just... Indescribable darkness. The morning wasn't much better, with Julius eating what breakfast he could find before heading off to school. He hadn't bothered to make a new schedule for the week, but thought he'd make it up as he went. He hadn't said much to his roommates either. He had left before most of them had woken up enough to actually talk to him. He wanted answers. Why and how had he been brought back? The others had told him that James had prayed to some God and a blinding light had erupted from his body, bringing Julius back to life. He couldn't help but feel mystified, but suddenly he felt empowered as well. Whatever God James had prayed to had granted him a great honor in restoring his life. For some reason, the God(s) had saw fit to bring Julius back. What great purpose did he still have upon this world? What fate awaited him so important that the gods themselves gave him a second chance? Julius wasn't the religious type, but after this event he started to grow quite an interest in the lore and religion of the pantheons and Gods. He planned to ask James later about whatever he had done, and what God had granted him this strange power. However Julius didn't think about or realize that this was a feat accomplished by James unlike any other. So young a boy had brought a soul back to the world of the living from the realm of the dead - and no necromancy was involved!
He brought up his pamphlet and started deciding what classes to go to. Unknowingly, he picked some of the same classes as his friend Auron...
Monday: 1st class - Raw Magic | 2nd class - Trance magic Tuesday: 1st class - General education | 2nd class - Basic Magic Wednesday: 1st class - Raw Magic | 2nd class - Weapon Class Thursday: 1st class - Physical Education | 2nd class - Galaxial Magic Friday: 1st class - Galaxial Magic | 2nd class - Crafts Class (because he had found a liking of the woodworking he had done during his detention)
"Vanessa, wait!" Gabriel exclaimed as she pushed past him and stormed up the stairs. The others were standing around, worried, restless, when she came up and looked at them. "Wovles..." she said under her breath. The others knew instantly. "W-wait, Vanessa it's not--" Robyn started to say but she was already out the door. Gabriel came up the stars shortly after her. "I thought you said you'd wait to tell her tomorrow?" Jaze said, walking up behind Gabriel. He put his hand on his shoulder to reassure him again. "Yeah well..." Gabriel responded. "Might as well get it over with, I thought. No doubt she's going over to Kelsey's place now. I have to catch up to her, wait for me here. If I'm not back before dusk, you have to get out, back to the city. Away from the hunters. Got it?" The others had gathered around him, and Gabriel turned around when he said the last part of his orders. "Dude, we can't just leave you." Thomas said, protesting, but Gabriel wouldn't hear it. He wasn't in the mood. He raised his voice in response, "You will do as I say!" he snaps at Thomas, who bites his lip and goes silent. "If the hunters catch me they'll kill me either way. They aren't types to take prisoners." Gabriel continued, lowering his voice again. Looking over the group, however, he realized someone was missing. "Where's Conrad?" he asked slowly. The others looked around. He was nowhere to be found. "He was here just a minute ago... What the hell?" Robyn said, looking around the room. "Damn it!" Gabriel cursed, slamming his fist into the wall. It dented. "When he comes back, tell him the same thing I've told you. You are to go back to the city if I'm not back by sundown." The others were silent, but nodded shortly in response. They didn't like this plan. With that, however, Gabriel exited the door and quickly shifted into his wolf-form to catch up to Vanessa. His wolf-form was a huge, black wolf with spiky fur. Whatever features he had of his human self were gone, except for the eyes. They were still the same color, despite being shapeshifted.

Conrad was walking the woods around the cabin since after the pack-meeting. Having ran quite deep into the woods, he made sure for a moment that nobody had followed him, before stopping in a grove. "Come out. I can smell you." he said finally, looking at a thick tree. From behind the tree emerged a hooded figure with a quiver of arrows on his back and a bow in his hand. His face was hidden from Conrad's view but he could see his light studded beard and well-built young body. He was probably in his 20's, about the age of Vanessa or slightly older. Athletic. Strong. His attire was all black leather and looked almost futuristic. A few pouches adorned his belt, probably filled with gadgets and reagents like wolfsbane. A first class hunter, no doubt. "One of your hunter friends blew your cover. The pack knows there are hunters in these woods now. Gabriel is on edge and is probably going to tell Vanessa everything by tomorrow." Conrad said, annoyed in his tone. He didn't trust this figure, it seemed. "Is that so?" the hunter responded, stroking his chin. "No matter, the deal is still on. We don't care about the other hunters, they're no match for your alpha when cornered anyway. You just make sure you uphold your end of the bargain and nobody will get killed." The hunter's tone was low, his voice muffled. He obviously went to lengths to not reveal his real voice. Old hunter tricks to conceal their identity, no doubt. "I will." Conrad snarled back. "But I won't make promises for anyone not getting killed. Just you make sure not a single scratch will come to my pack or so help me I will rip out your throat." The hunter didn't respond to this. Not with an expression, not with a word. He simple took a step back and disappeared behind the tree again, and suddenly Conrad could tell he wasn't there anymore. His scent was gone. The hunters are evolving. Conrad thought to himself. They can indeed cloak themselves from out senses. He made his way back toward the house, the others of the pack not knowing of this meeting.

Gabriel had been following Vanessa's scent, and luckily she hadn't made it far into the woods before he caught up to her. He ran up beside her but some distance away, then leaped forward to cut off the path which she was running towards. He stood about 20 yards in front of her in his wolf form, panting, looking at her, waiting. Their eyes met. Gabriel wasn't upset anymore. Not about Conrad disappearing or about the hunters. At least not for the moment. Right now he was only sad, terribly devestated for having to tell her the truth and having to hurt her this way. His eyes were sad, watery, and he just stood there for a moment and gazed at her, waiting for her to either run away again or talk to him. She probably knew it was him, wolf form or not. The connection they shared... She must know for certain.
