Did you know that Hitler always had his picture taken by a camera positioned beneath him so that he could look taller?

Hello.
I am yet another adolescent struggling on the road to maturity.
Nothing much else.

Doctor: You have a bad case of osteoporosis. I prescribe that you put down that outrageously large sword you're wielding.

Swordsman: DON'T YOU SEE THAT WE ARE ABOUT TO BE EATEN BY A GIANT SPACE MONSTER?

Enjoy your stay. ;)

A solemn cemetery lay beneath the foggy sky. Gravestones were lined up in an orderly manner, as if they were waiting to be visited. An old man who seemed to be in his fifties, but was legally in his eighties, but whose true age was unknown to the public stood before one of these gravestones. All was quiet, and the only distinguishable feature within the place of mourning was the old man himself. Later on, he decided to break the silence with some unheard monologue.

"Ah, it's been a long time, Matt. You were a rebellious child, weren't you?"

"I remember when I asked you to eat your vegetables. My desire was for you to grow up to become a strong and robust man. Like me, of course!"

"But you refused. And what started with mere stringbeans ended up with your estrangement from me. Fate would continue to provide for you in its own mysterious ways. In the end, you would die by my hands."

"But you never knew who I was, didn't you?"

Just then, a mysterious figure hiding within the confines of his hood appeared behind the old man.

"Visitors? I don't get those very often. Be my guest."

The old man would later be located within a shrine, in the company of a man sporting medieval-age military armor and a woman wearing something that looked like a blue dress.

"A being cloaked in the darkest of night. Ahh.. now that was quite the tale wasn't it? Nay to mention that one caught me in quite the moment. But pray tell, whom are you two in this... realm of the gods? I am Dezuel Incarnus, wielder of Astralus, leader of ELF."

The man in armor offered a curt bow.

"Greetings, Sir Incarnus. I am Clara Witherfield. It's a pleasure to meet you."

The old man had decided to make his way out of the shrine after his soon-to-be companions had offered their greetings. He gave a polite nod at the old man about to enter, who didn't elicit a surprised expression due to his approacher's less strange attire. After having made his way out, he studied the appearance and structure of the shrine.

"Please do not be alarmed. We're just,.. three lost strangers. Y-yes, that's it. So it would be much appreciated if you can point us on the direction of the nearest village."

Just then, the old man made his way back into the shrine, joining the other old man and the two other otherworldly beings. He gave out a deep laugh, which would probably remind the other three people of Santa Claus, if they had ever heard of such a story.

"Ho ho ho! This so called 'world of worlds' is simply the country known as Japan! Its rich culture speaks for itself!"

"You may call me Nico."

As Nico spoke, a pillar of light suddenly shone from the sky and caught his attention. This wasn't the first supernatural phenomenon he had seen, so he simply smiled upon seeing it. He turned back to Price.

"There sure are lots of strange creatures living around here, right?"

"By strange, I mean unique! No offense to any of them."

The inmate watched as the Ray got onto his feet. Desperately, he grabbed his phone and scampered out of the room. The soldier ran through hallways and stairs as he felt the urge to get further and further away from the inmate. He ran and ran until he was facing a pair of doors blocking a visibly larger room.

A dead end.

Just then, he would hear footsteps coming from behind. He turned his head, only to come face-to-face with the inmate he had met not long ago. He hummed a tune to himself while walking towards the soldier, or rather the room that he mad managed to secure. Without hesitation, he whipped out a genuine handgun. No more electric shocks and handy tricks. Surprisingly, the inmate lifted his hands in surrender.

"On second thought, just get me out of here. I need fresh air."
"Fresh air?"
"Indeed. Now if you would just let me..."

The boy pushed the soldier aside and headed towards the doors that secured the room. He stopped walking when he was about a meter away from the door. Quietly, he took a few labored breaths before kicking the doors. This resulted in a loud THUD, followed by the opening of the doors. The doors opened to reveal a collection of armaments, clothes, medical equipment, and so much more.

"...gear up."

A seemingly abandoned building sat beside a deserted street. It would have been a rather quiet night if not for the gunfire that echoed from a distance. Two figures made their way nonchalantly through the street.

"So we're looking for Diana Vultz, captain of the Frigate Adriane. Am I right?"
"Yep. I haven't received anything from her since they sent me on this godforsaken mission. I'd blame the higher-ups, but I wouldn't blame her. She's a great captain, y'know?"
"Metallic exoskeleton, synthetic third eye, am I getting this right?"
"You sure are."

Ray pulled out his phone and pressed some buttons on it. An antenna poked out of the device.

"All right, I've tracked Cap's signature. Luckily, she happens to be on this planet, and she's got company. In fact, she's right over there."

The soldier pointed the antenna towards the direction that the sound of gunfire came from. Together, the two people quickly ran towards the scene of battle. They were confronted by a rather jarring scene. Mercenaries opened fire on distant airships, which retaliated with loads and loads of gratuitous gunfire. A large ship flew entered the scene, flying right into another building. The impact produced a sound more deafening then the thuds we had been treated to before.

"We'll be needing a ship."
"Sure thing."

The two men ran hastily towards the building that the ship had crashed into. Explosions racked the ground, and the sound of gunfire created what would be identified as a crudely-produced dubstep song. The former inmate was about to jump into the warehouse when he suddenly felt a stray bullet graze his arm lightly. He turned around to find his companion on the ground, releasing shot after shot at a group of mercenaries. His battle armor was soaked in blood, and he was gasping desperately for breath.

"Just go! Your life is what's more important right now!"

The other man knew better.

He took the cylindrical tube off his body and opened it. Out came a sleek sword, and the man grabbed it. His eyes began to glow once again. The sword began to glow the same way his eyes did, and he swung it at the group of mercenaries. During the stroke, the entire sword began to radiate itself, and it appeared to extend. With the "extended" sword, the man cleaved through the mercs with a single stroke. The mercenaries' bodies were violently torn apart. The sword lost its glow, and the energy the man had used to extend the sword disappeared. The man then ducked down and said something to his former companion:

"I'll let you take a secret to the other world."
"W-whaat?"
"My real name wasn't Rudolph all along."
"uuuuuhhhhh yeeahh it was kinda obviouss..."
"Anyways, I'm off. I'll make sure that Diane will know of your loyalty."

The young man tapped his dying companion on the shoulder and headed off. He wasn't that cold, but Ray was going to die no matter what he did. Eventually, he proceeded to jump into the warehouse. Ray's device had pointed out that Diane had to be somewhere within this area. Besides, the young man would love to get on a ship.

He had a goal all along. And he would only be able to fulfill it now.

The young man quickly put the sword in his makeshift scabbard. He had a metal lady to find and a spaceship to board.

@JaceBeleren

sorry for the half-assed plotline :P
@Dezuel
Wait, so you've rolled dice to see which user starts with which character? Or which character starts with which other character?
@Letmehaveone2

The man's statement was rather threatening in nature, but Nico could sense the immense worry on his face. The child wasn't one to get intimidated, either.

"Don't worry, your secrets are mine for the keeping. I don't break promises, and that's a golden truth."

Nico walked ahead and turned around to face Price.

"You're name's Price, isn't it?"
If you don't mind, can I see who you plan to use against Mairyell (Mai for short)? Additionally, do you mind if we have a posting timer (something like a post every week sound reasonable?) just so that the fight doesn't drag on forever resulting in us maybe losing interest? We can always put in notice if we have some stuff coming up if we need more time. It won't be strictly enforced, but I imagine it'll help things go smoothly.

Beyond that, do you want me to make an battlefield (I've been told I'm pretty good at it), or would you prefer to pick an existing one? If I am to make one, I'll be sure to be fair about it and not to have it impede either of us unequally. Meaning that if it has any special traits that might act as complications, they will act as complications to BOTH characters rather than favoring one or the other.

I'm still working on the CS. The concept is that the character is a former assassin who uses magic to debuff and blind her enemies, and I'll be throwing in some gnarly mobility boosts as well. Her fighting style is most effective against fighters who are similar to humans. As for my posting timer, I'll be very active until August 7. When that date comes, I'll have to focus on school (they dish out tons of requirements there), and my schedule will be greatly altered. Maybe a post every week would do.

For the battlefield, I'd suggest that you go for something that draws the line between modern and futuristic. I'll explain why after my CS is intact.
