Is this RP still accepting players? I have an idea for a electricity based character but would love to hear back before getting too far into character creation
“I am just a tad lost, sorry if I am invading your…trees…”

Asha studied the miserable figure before her and took a step back, lowering her bow slightly. “Hello Alarand, the Cold and Miserable. I am Asha’ren the Soaked and Starving, sovereign of nothing. Only a fool would claim ownership of land as miserable as the Storm Coast just as only fools would try to invade it.” Asha teased with a smile. Then turned suddenly and loosed her bow, smiling grimly when she heard it connect.

“Would you care to join me for breakfast?” Asha smiled, walking over and picking up the rabbit she’d just shot, holding it up for him to see. “I have a fire in a cave not far from here that will give you a chance to dry out a touch. And explain where you're going, I may be able to help you on your way. Though I don't claim ownership of the Coast, I do know it quite well and have some experience as a guide." Asha grinned, her grey eyes sparkling in mirth. "You may be cold and miserable Alarand, but you're also lucky I came upon you."

Asha’ren woke to large raindrops splattering on her angular features. Grey eyes opened to see that the waxed canvass she’d purchased during her last trip to the city wasn’t stout enough to fend off the weather that she experienced here on the coast. Cursing to herself under her breath she threw back her bedroll and pulled on her already damp boots before shoving the few things she’d left laying about in her tent into her satchel. She rolled up her bedroll quickly, happy that the drips seemed to have started over her face and not left her blankets soaked before she realized what was going on. It was definitely one of the disadvantages of her body running hotter than other people’s, she was almost always the last to realize when her clothes were soaked.

Thankfully she’d realized that this may be a possibility so she had camped nearby a small cave that looked like it would do for shelter. She quickly threw her few belongings into the cave along with her cloak and vest, leaving her clad in her shirt and leather leggings and boots only. She disassembled her tent carefully, making sure she didn’t rip the canvass. Though it hadn’t proved itself against the weather of the Storm Coast, she certainly didn’t plan on living here forever and it may yet prove of service. Besides, even if she didn’t end up using it again, she was relatively certain she’d be able to sell it to someone, maybe even at a profit if she was lucky.

Once she was in out of the wet she took the time to build a small fire and change into her dry shirt, buttoning the thick leather vest over it for protection. She laid her wet gear out on a rock to dry and lit one of the last dry torches she had to look around the cave. Seeing a tunnel heading out the back of the cavern Asha set a couple traps to deter anything that was planning on coming up behind her. She sat and dried off by her small fire, relishing in the feel of the heat against her skin. Asha dug in her bag and found a small piece of jerky that she chewed slowly and that only served to make her hunger grow. With a frustrated growl Asha grabbed her gear and headed out of the cave, happy to note that the rain had stopped and it was now a gentle mist.

Asha followed wildlife trails for a bit, trying to hunt down some small animal that would feed her for a couple days. Intent on her tracking, Asha didn’t notice the soaked elf until she was right behind him, though he hadn’t noticed her yet. “Who are you?” Asha asked, keeping an arrow nocked and taking a step back to give herself room to fire if necessary.

@Gate Keeper
@Saarebas Yes it is. I think I'm going to have to host the photo or something.
Name: Asha’ren (Asha or Ash)

Age: 31

Gender: F

Race: Elf-blooded

Nationality: Born in Kirkwall in the Free-Marches

Group Affiliation: none

Occupation: Guide-Though she started out as a petty thief and card-sharp, she’s found that life after the incident at the conclave her skills are much better used to help navigate civilians through the perilous wilderness, for a decent sum of course.

Appearance: Asha has auburn hair and piercing grey eyes that are always taking in the world around her. She’s a master at gathering information, whether it’s by making contacts within a city or tracking dinner through the forest. Though she has the build of her human mother, tall and solid, her facial features and ears reveal her elven father’s heritage.

Equipment/Weapons: Asha carries a well made bow and a couple mismatched daggers. She typically wears leather leggings, knee high boots and some combination of a vest and blouse combo with some bracers over her sleeves to protect the fabric from the bowstring. A brown wool cloak trimmed with fur from animals she’s hunted since leaving the city tops off her ensemble. She carries a small satchel that she wears slung across her body and that contains all she owns in the world, a doll her mother made her, a few necessary survival tools, bits of food and a map of the area she’d managed to lift off a merchant.

Bio:
Asha’ren was born to a Low-Town merchant and her elven husband who hailed from Kirkwall’s alienage. As she grew up she helped in her mother’s shop until her mother got sick and perished. Her father wasted away, mourning for his lost love. Several years after her mother died, her father followed, leaving her in charge of the small shop. Though she tried her best to maintain the business, other merchants pushed her out and she eventually had to close shop. After her business failed Asha tried to stay with her father’s family in the alienage but they turned her away, telling her that having someone of her blood around would put the rest of them in danger. As a parting gift, Asha’s grandmother gave her a gorgeous bow and a quiver of arrows to protect herself.

Heartbroken and homeless, Asha spent some time in the Hanged Man winning enough at cards to buy some food and a dry place to sleep for a week or so before being kicked out. She stole a couple daggers and some gold on her way out, fleeing to the docks and stowed away onto a cargo ship. As her luck would have it, she was discovered as the ship was just hitting the Storm Coast. She was unceremoniously dumped overboard and by some miracle managed to keep her things with her. She swam to shore and has been lurking around the Storm Coast ever since, hunting for food and scavenging goods that washed up. Occasionally she’ll act as guide to travelers who weren’t prepared for the perils of the coast. She has created a little camp and makes a tidy enough living to keep herself in warm clothes and good ale. She’ll occasionally foray into the city to sell the things she’s found but has become accustomed to the solitude she finds out on the coast.

@Rei Thank you for that link! I'm trying to move away from Star Trek as that's all I've done lately, but I may have to give it a look :)
Hi everyone! I'm Clanty and just found this site. I'm a longtime tabletop RPGer and have done some playing on Star Trek PbP sims before, but wanted to branch out. I've brought my own story to the site, hope to get some interest and play a game I've been wanting to run for a while. Can't wait to dig in and get some writing done :D

RP SAMPLE POST:

Prompt: You've arrived at Kinova Corp training. You've survived the mind numbing orientation and have just settled into your bunk for the night when you hear an alarm start blaring just outside the door to your room.
Welcome to Kinova Corp! This RP will be based around an idea I had for Pathfinder in space. Here are the deets:

Playable characters: from Pathfinder core classes: Gnomes, Elves, Half-Elves, Human, Halflings, Half-Orcs

Set 4000 years after the stories in the beginning of the books, the races have fled earth and spread out amongst the stars. Races of a kind, (ie undead, goblinkind etc) tend to stick together. So on one planet it would totally make sense for there to be gnolls and owlbears since they’re the same species type.

Weapons: All weapons would be energy based, like omnitool, and players would only carry a handle. The handle could be activated into any weapon (within reason, only medium weapons for example for a medium handle or even a handle has 2, 3, 4 options). This could be where magic comes in and it could be activated by thought. Could also have a tech side where weapons were selected via probes in the character’s head but I kind of like the magic twist. Would recommend players keep this within reason as not to break the game. Low cost version would have buttons and would be slower to activate. There would be a more expensive version that fit within the palm of the hand, a ring around the middle finger and a going down over the palm and around the wrist. It could be activated by thought but would be a VERY expensive item. Bows would shoot energy bolts of some sort, or energy arrows, also created by the handle, though this would be harder to visualize and make rules for. Could be determined by the handle.

Armor: Advanced kevlar like armor. Different armor strengths would look different, could go between looking almost like street clothes to being heavy armor like Shepard wears in ME. A shield bracelet could also be worn, activating an energy shield of varying intensity. For example, a small buckler like shield would be a ton stronger than one trying to shield multiple people. Also could be influenced by thought or chip controlled, just depends on what the world ends up being. Characters would probably wear the shield bracelet all the time, and it could be practice to carry their weapon handle all the time as well, so that random occurrences like bar brawls wouldn’t be totally cancelled out by everyone wearing heavy armor. The lighter the armor, the less conspicuous it would be, so it would be advantageous on jobs to have lighter armor despite the less protections. DONE

Rather than having a bag of holding, you could have some sort of tech like a transporter that held a bunch of items. Pills rather than potions, or even a hypospray type device instead of healing potions.

Magic: could easily be replaced with science, with elves getting bonuses to sciency pursuits like medicine and actual science pursuits. Half elves would get bonuses to charisma just like in D&D giving them bonuses and making them great natural leaders. Orcs would make great thugs/security officers a’la Worf and Jayne. Gnomes would make very good engineers with their tech leanings from D&D just amplified. Humans would be pretty standard catch all race. Halflings could be really good thieves, but as with anything, that’s a racial leaning not a rule. Anyone could play anything as long as it makes sense. Dexterity would translate to piloting and navigation

Some water monsters could be encountered in space, for example kraken. they could have evolved, or there’s just a similar race out there.

Transportation: would be more Firefly than Trek, hyperspeed travel but not FTL, want it to take time to do things. Travel between worlds could be treated like travel between towns for story’s sake, and space-stations would definitely exist. Ship would be small and maneuverable enough to go planet side. Definitely more Firefly than Trek, small enough that it can be manned by about 10 people, fewer depending on players.

Necessary positions: Pilot, Tactical, Medic, Mechanic, Captain

Ship design is here: colonialchrome.co.uk/Ships/Generic/G_C..

Drov’la (popular game): toss several disks into the air and then hit each one with the weapons indicated spawned from the handle weapon. Best played with obstacles in the way. Think parkour meets the multi lock from Fable. Score would be based on time and difficulty of targets hit. 20 targets total at different heights, at least 12 to complete the course. Extra points for each target completed within the 15 minute timeframe. This would be the most popular game, there would be professional teams, games would be presented via video feed and audio feed. Practice could be done in a cargo bay, with characters playing for fun/weapons practice.

Our first story would center around our characters starting work for one of the multi planet corporations and finishing their training through the Kinova Corp. Other than the basic setting, I'd really like to decide how this RP goes together, and I'm far more interested in writing a fun story together than anything else. I'd hope for 4-5 posts a week of decent size, and I will facilitate things to keep the story moving along. This is the first time I've created a game in this manner, but I'm SUPER excited to get things started and I will likely be posting every day.
