The Premise:

The town of Aikari is located in a hilly, forested region of Japan, surrounded on all sides by tall mountains and located by a river which leads to a nearby lake. Although Aikari is just a half an hour drive from the nearest city, its mountainous borders doesn't exactly make it a common road trip destination. It is a quaint little town with a small population, but it nevertheless boasts an impressive commercial district for a town of its size. It contains a large mall, several arcades and karaoke bars, and a few small cafes that line one particular plaza. There are three residential districts that surround the commercial blocks, which feed into five grade schools and three high schools. All in all, not quite a bustling metropolis, but it has its charm.

Of course, a small town like this still has its fair share of rumors, and perhaps because of the town's small size, those rumors can spread fast. And in the largest of the town's three high schools, Shirafuyu Academy, one of those rumors is prevalent throughout the student body.

They say the old school building holds a secret; that's why it's been blocked off. Barricades have been erected at every entrance, and at every door inside the building. And recently, strange sounds have been coming from the inside of the building. Students have seen strange figures in the upper floor windows of the building. Things like that... little whispers of the unknown, of the macabre, and of wish fulfillment travel around...

But... not many people take those rumors seriously. Of course not. How outlandish would they have to be? It's just an urban legend, after all. Who would be be so stupid as to actually fall for such a thing?

Your phone buzzes. It's a text. You open up your phone to see who it is.

...What the hell? The message make makes no sense at all.

Who sent this?

The Details:

You play a high school student at Shirafuyu Academy that, for some reason or another, finds themselves drawn to the old school building. Maybe it's because of the rumors that surround it. Or maybe it's because of that strange text message you got, telling you to go there.

Whatever the reason, you find yourself inside the old school building, knowing full well how much trouble you could get in. But as you look around the building, you notice something odd about the place.

Seems like you could get into a lot more trouble than you thought...

This RP is a horror/exploration/mystery RP. There are many things that you won't know from the beginning. OOC information will be provided as players discover things IC.

Although the main meat of the RP takes place in the old school building, there will be segments that occur in the outside world. These segments are for character and relationship development. Make friends, spark romances, whatever it is you want to do. Maybe, if your characters survive the ordeal, they'll find themselves with stronger connections than when they started.

If.

The Rules:

1. Standard Guild rules: no godmodding, powerplaying, or metagaming.
2. You know what's cool? IC drama. You know what's not cool? OOC drama. You know what's even less cool than that? Bringing IC drama to OOC, or vice versa. The point is, don't do the latter two.
3. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. However, be aware that I reserve the right to refuse to answer questions that could be considered spoilers for the plot.
4. Most of all, have fun!

The Character Sheet:

Name: Surname, given name.
Gender: What is your character's gender?
Age: How old is your character?
Class: x-y (Where x is the year, 1-3, and y is the class number 1-3)
Appearance: A picture is preferred, but if you can't find one a description will suffice. No RL photos. Please put pictures behind a link or under a hider.
Hobbies and Interests: What does your character like to do when they're not in school? Are they part of any clubs or school teams?
Personality: How does your character act and react?
History: What events have shaped your characters life and made them who they are now?
Jun-Sang Kim

Capture the flag, huh?

Weird. Though, he guessed he didn't have any right to be surprised. When he came to the institute a few years ago, he had to go through something similar. Not CTF, but something in the same vein.

Jun-Sang wasn't really a fan of it.

As the teams were decided and the game started, Jun-Sang wordlessly slid up beside the group of teachers watching on the sidelines.

"Don't mind me," he stated flatly, "Just gonna observe, if you don't mind."

Rumi Kataoka

Why did she come to the school?

It didn't take her long to come up with a response, to be honest.

"Why not?"

It was true, in a way. It's not like Rumi had given it much serious thought. It might be fun, right? And what could go wrong? This is what Rumi thought.

And then they were walking to the flag, up next to the big guy.

Musashi greeted him with an energetic gusto, and Rumi couldn't help but giggle at that. She gave a small wave to Zeke.

"You doin' okay?" she asked him. He seemed a little out of it, if she was going to be honest.

Ryousei Aoyama

One does not simply try to punch someone in the chest after that someone just saw someone getting kicked in the chest. As Ryousei moved, he saw a flash of movement and leapt backward, just narrowly avoiding the other boy's punch.

"Not bad!" he said, thumbing his nose, "If I hadn't just seen someone fall the exact same way you might have gotten me."

He straightened up.

"I don't suppose you're going to let me slip through, huh?" Ryousei said.

Without waiting for an answer, he got into a fighting stance.

"Don't worry, the edge is blunt... well, relatively speaking."

Then he charged, aiming at the boy's legs in a wide swipe.

@Western Robot

Okay okay thanks!
@VitaVitaAR Just to be clear, both of them are accepted?

I feel like I'm asking a lot of questions.

@VitaVitaAR

I presume that multiple students can be the same rank? (As in, it's more of a tier or division system rather than a ladder placement of the top 50 students)
@VitaVitaAR

Multiple PCs can be part of the same club, right?
Ryousei Aoyama

Ryousei had been keeping an eye on Akiko, trying to catch up with her before someone else got to her first.

But alas...

As the guy landed his feet on Akiko, Ryousei facepalmed, before turning off between the trees. Hopefully, the guy had been so preoccupied with bringing Akiko down that he didn't notice Ryousei dashing off in another direction.

Of course, Ryousei had to be more vigilant than Akiko was. So his eyes scanned the horizon, looking for any threats that would come his way... or that he'd have to meet.

Rumi Kataoka

"Ooh, that seems helpful," Rumi said, "especially since everyone else seems to be more close-ranged."

She looked around. No one from the other team seemed to have even crossed the line yet, but it paid to be vigilant. Who knows what crazy powers they could have.

"Alright," Rumi said, "Let's get next to the flag. That way we have the most time to react to someone coming."

She held out her hand.

"My name's Rumi," she finished, "I can make other people's powers stronger as long as I'm touching them."

She nodded, then smiled.

"What's your name?"
