Dragon Ball

Goku. Gohan. Vegeta. Piccolo. They are all among the strongest heroes the universe has ever known.

Frieza. Cell. Buu. They are among the strongest villains the universe has ever known.

What would the universe as we know it look like had none of them ever existed? Let's take all of them and just clear them off the table, and then take a gander at the universe without them. New challengers for both good and evil are destined to step up to the plate, and you will be filling their roles.

The object of the role play is to have fun. I have nothing overly ambitious in mind for this project, and my only goal is to give everyone a taste of the fun that is being powerful.

Ask as many questions as you wish!
Glad to see all the interest. I just git back on, so I'll start putting the actual thread together now. Stay tuned!
.
I'll put up a thread later today.
Could we play as androids or human mutants?

Go right ahead. Just keep in mind that the characters are going to be relatively weak in the beginning, and that improvement is a necessity as time goes on.
I'm willing to give it a shot.

Fantastic! Glad to see some interest.
This idea is more for the sake of having fun than anything really ambitious. What I want to do is basically take the Dragon Ball Z universe and wipe it clean of all its canon characters. Then, I want to replace them with our own. It's incredibly simple, really, and I just want all participants to be able to have a blast.

So basically, you will have at least one character. The one character will be your main fighter of high power compared to the rest (e.g. Goku, Vegeta, Gohan). After this, any other characters you want to make will be low-tier fighters or average beings that will fill the roles characters like Krillin, Yamcha, and etc. have. The flow will work similarly to that of the Dragon Ball Z show, in that each of our characters will have a crack at the present villain, and everyone will get a turn at having the final blow. Power levels will vary, as characters are bound to train to try and surpass one another, or just simply to surpass the foe.

I feel like I've done enough explaining. I'll answer more questions as people leave feedback/express interest, and I hope to mix in a little bit of something for everyone involved to enjoy. And again, keep in mind that this role play is not a project of ambition, but simply a project where the goal is to have fun with incredibly powerful characters.
I'm dropping this due to time. Sorry mates.

How does it work?

Energy to maintain the projection is one of the variables that helps to determine approximately how powerful the projecting being is, as is energy output doing simple movements and actions. Energy output when performing attacks in fights gives more accurate numbers, but the prior variables for energy give a good enough approximation. Beyond this, advanced scanners analyze anything metahuman in their motions, actions, or anything else, and compare the amount of energy needed to maintain these things to the power level one would have to be to be able to actually have abilities X and Y to the extent they do. I'd say a constant based on what is already known about the vast majority of superhuman beings also has its place. I'm not sure if I forgot anything or explained something too poorly, but I reread it and it makes sense to me.

I thought you meant like a light production. Though, energy itself doesn't tell you very much.

It's a variable in a science-fiction mathematical equation.
