RP INFO

Ok, here's the thing. I'm tired of scouring the interest checks for just the right partner. So I figured I'm gunna add a little plug in here for all to see!

I am collecting rp buddies because I wanna have myself a craving, and be able to feed said craving (without driving my boyfriend nuts). Its faster to have a group of friends at hand that I can brainstorm with, then edit my interest check and wait....possibly lose my craving and move onto something else.

So here are some things you need to know about me!

Common genres: adventure, modern fantasy, classic fantasy, dark fantasy, soulmate stuffs, romance
Things I don't really like to play: zombie apocolypse, slice of life, canon fandom stuff, pokemon?

Zombie: I just find it...repetitious and without a real goal?

Slice of life: I don't want to roleplay vanilla human lives. I have one of my own, and rp is my escape from that.

Canon fandom: lots of times, I have no idea what Im doing XD

Pokemon: Well...I like pokemon (up to a point) but...I always wonder about the mechanics. I dont want to pay attention to stats, and I dont want to focus on 'catching them all'

I do MxM and MxF. I would do FxF if it was alluring to me, but its not.

Now that that's out of the way, the sticking parts:

I would prefer RPing here in threads, or switching to discord, where I am much more accessable. I dont know if you've seen my profile, but i have a terrible habit of drifting off for long periods.

I will NOT guarantee a post a day, every 2 days, every week, or hell even every month. I will post what I can, and when I can. I'm 25 years old and damn it, I got adulting to do! Sometimes, I don't even do my duty to tell you if I'm going to disappear. Why? because something came up, I'm in a slump that lasts longer than I think it is, or I found something shiny and new and just have my head stuck in the computer. ADHD. ANd ADHD is why I say that my partners here should get ahold of me on discord, i am also crawkid there too.

Days fly by for me.

I need someone who is patient and understanding of this nature of mine, while still looking forward to rping with me. (I do try!)

If you're still here after all that, congrats, you're a rare breed.

I know I said that I will post what I can and when I can...but I do tend to give each post a good amount of thought. Still, if you find that my posts are getting smaller and smaller, don't be afraid to talk to me about it.

Also, I like rp partners who get excited about brainstorming, and who want to try new flavors and pairings. I want YOUR thoughts, and I LOVE it when we're in the middle of an rp and suddenly you decide this side character that was you main's uncle gets bitten by the vampire queen and...I dunno...but its sudden and interesting! AND you can bet I'll want to shove my own sudden and interesting plot twists in there too! (but of course one that'll make sense) This...makes it feel alive, and I love it so so much. :3

I just don't want to be forced to come up with every detail, plan everything out, beg you for ideas, and then have you flake out because its all 'my rp' and you lost interest in it 3 days in. Had it happen. If you're that person, sorry, that's boring. I don't WANT responsibility for everything. If I did, I'd be writing a book, not seeking a cooperative narrative with a stranger that might be on the other side of the planet.

Heh...think I like cntributing to this a bit much XD
Name: "Purple Ore"; "Bright stone"; "Magician's Stone"; "Magician's Ore"

Nature: "Purple Ore" is a mineral that occurs in veins, where its most common form comes in fine metalic crystaline structures. Occasionally crystals may grow in bigger solid masses, and that is what's most commonly crafted with and sold.

Location: Usually found around deposits of slate and black granite, veins of this mineral stand out against its darker earthy neighbors, not only because of its bright and reflective color, but also because it gives off a faint glow. As far as research has been able to tell, this glow isn't dangerous. Still, it is considered a sign of power. The brighter a piece of Purple Ore glows, the stronger its abilities are.

Abilities: In a quarries where Purple Ore is abundant, it is reported that the air feels heavier, thoughts/Ruse are easily manifested, and magic is easier to cast and with less strain. Sometimes large rocks containing a significant amount of Purple Ore are found floating in mid-air. Because these abilities are seen as dangerous by some, mining and sale of Purple Ore has been completely and strictly banned in many countries. Therefore, it fetches a high price in the black markets.

Common forms: It's not often that purple ore is sold as a solid chunk in its natural state, but mankind still has not found a way to properly melt down the ore to a liquid metal. Most often, it is found as a glittery powder, or larger crystals may be carefully carved into jewelry.

Seems to be going in the direction of supernatural/dark fantasy at the moment...but good natured stuff and basic fantasy elements could always be put in :)

Thanks :) love contemplating the idea myself, and I felt the mysticism and mysteriousness of this guy I'm kind of piecing together would fit and stuff.

And if he was the very same guy, I'd think either he goes by many names or..maybe the name he used for the article was from before he disappeared? Otherwise, I think it'd feel like her goal was too tangible for the difficulty its supposed to be at? Dunno
The Web of Fate

The word "Fate" is a well argued philosophical point. Some think it is non-sense, some think it is an element of mystery similar to the Ruse, And yet more think that there is a deity out there that controls everything.

For the most part, everything is speculative and one's belief in the concept only goes so far as how comfortable they are with the idea itself. But in the oldest library there is an article filed away, explaining a phenomenon that's been perceived by many great philosophical minds in the past.

"Fate" is another word for The Inevitable. Men and women of the mind have for many ages wondered what The Inevitable is, and why it is so. Surely, Death is the most known Inevitable. But then why is there life and death in the first place? And why must some people suffer more than others? Why are there prophecies? How even can such insights be made? What happens to the Inner Mind after life comes to an end...as in, where is one's consciousness fated to go?

We've looked into this for so so very long. I've been out here contemplating, thinking that perhaps solitude would help. The very base of philosophy is made up of one's mind, but more particularly, of the questions it asks. And I ask myself, "What if Fate is not the same as The Inevitable? What if Fate is guided to The Inevitable, but may still be changed and chosen? What if the true name of Fate was 'choice'?

Surely, no one would choose a life of suffering, one might retort. But listen closely, I say, for that is not what I am implying.

Since the beginning of life, there has been choice. Whether it is the choice of a deer to feed on a particular tree, or the choice of man to believe in a god. But each choice one creature makes, creates choices for some other. One could say then that the wolf who was scouring for prey came across the deer because that deer chose to eat from that tree. But if that hungry wolf has his hunting pack, and there are not other prey around to be seen, he will not choose to not hunt that deer. Therefore, the deer is fated to be hunted, as the wolf is fated to start the hunt, because while the choice to not hunt is there, it is against the nature of the wolf to make that choice. And that makes it to seem as if that choice wasn't there to begin with, that the hunt of the day was fated to be that specific hunt.

In this way, if one believes this to be the way of things, it is easy to say that humans can control their own fate, but are limited by their very nature. And maybe I am right, for after 5 days of contemplating this, The night sky appeared different to me. It was as if against the light speckled blanket of darkness, I could faintly see golden lines. There were so many, it was a wonder that they did not block out the sky itself. And it was never static, but changing constantly, as if being woven by a temperamental weaver's hand. This of course, only brings up more questions, doesn't it?"

Thinking perhaps the town is now flooded with ruse..maybe the fog itself is one~

Author: ok this is good. One mysterious author, and another character on a manhunt(?) to find and speak with him.
The Town of Goldenport.

This is a quiet little port tucked away in some coastal peninsula. The history books say that it used to be a happy, thriving community. Everyone was cheerful and productive in their own trade. Homelessness and bad luck were hardly heard of, and everyone was willing to give a helping hand to each other, especially new comers. There was a constant stream of merchants and tourists. The people there had a deep rooted, down to earth sort of pride that was probably rightly earned.

That was, until the mayor was found face down and drowned. With no leads on the cause, people became more on guard and suspicious, especially in the beginning day. If it was a killer, would they do it again?

Perhaps this suspicion and fear is what brought the era of happiness to an end, but it also attracted other odd and frightening happenings. Sailors began reports of strange shadows that seemed to follow them. Then they began to occasionally go missing. Pets too. Rats became an increasingly common occurance. The skies became overcast, even though it almost never would rain. And then there was the fog. People in town started drinking more, business was done quickly and with little to no conversation. Taverns and bars built inns onto themselves for those who avoided going out in the night.

Those who didn't, or who watched out the window, would start seeing figures n the fog. They took the shape of many things. Animals, people, even out on the bay, there were occasionally ships seen that would just...disappear after a couple seconds.

Hey, that article you wrote about the Ruse that's in first person? Is that officially published? Might like my girl to have started reading it...
