ire Nation culture:

There is no fire lord. The monarchy does not exist and doesn't exist for thousands of years. Fire bending is a trait that elevates bloodlines in the hierarchy of their society. The fire nation comprises of a ton of islands and each island governs themselves. They partake in tribal warfare as well, but that's beside the point. The familial hierarchy of the fire islands is tier based. If a bloodline possesses the ability to fire bend they are most likely to be nobles, governed by the strongest and most resilient of the families on each island. Nonbenders would be the "peasants" in this tier based culture. When a child is born with fire bending abilities they elevate the family's status, and they are trained from the youngest possible age to hone their bending skills, further elevating the family's status. Agne Kai can be utilized to challenge the ruler of the ruling family to reorganize the power structure on an island to island basis. Failing to meet family's expectations can lead to disgrace, not only for the individual, but for the family as a whole, because families as a whole are also held to certain standards and expectations as well depending on the tier they possess within their culture. Great deeds and achievements, feats of notable regard, etc. also elevate family.

Earth Dynasties:

The Earth Kingdom will not exist for thousands of years either. This giant landmass is divided into several dynasties, of which also partake in tribal warfare. These dynasties are ruled by those chosen by each territory's respective spirit. The divine right to rule is passed down via bloodline until either the bloodline is wiped out or the territory's spirit selects a new ruler. These rulers are worshiped as gods by their people and they demand unyielding loyalty from their subjects. How they choose to govern their dynasty is completely up to them, however, the spirits can intervene however they see fit, removing them from power. Nobody knows what reasons the spirits might have for doing this yet as spirits are immortal and humanity has only gone a few hundred years without the lion turtles protecting them.

Water Tribes:

The people of the water tribes are very community oriented, and unlike the fire islands and earth dynasties, the water tribes do not partake in tribal warfare. There are no rulers within the water tribes either, but instead, it is every water tribe citizen's duty to provide wisdom and conflict resolution as they become the tribe's elders. The elders of the water tribes are deeply respected and regarded as arguably the most important people in the water tribes. Regardless if someone can bend or not, every citizen is viewed with equal importance and treated with equal dignity, and are trained to do their part for their tribe to the best of their abilities, whatever that might look like on and individual to individual basis. However, those who do not pull their weight, or those who repeatedly burden the efficiency of community, are often exiled for a period of time and able to return once they are able to prove their worth after living in the wilderness of the tundra alone, if they survive. Despite their station or occupation, all water tribe men are trained as warriors and fishermen as it isn't uncommon for people of other nations to attack them, believing them to be weak. The Northern Water Tribe is the heart of both water tribe's spirituality and philosophy, whereas the Southern Water Tribe acts as the tribe's wisdom and worldliness, as it is far more common for southern water tribe to venture to the north pole than it is for anyone in the north to venture to the south. Every few years people from the southern water tribe trek to the northern water tribe and a festival to celebrate their travels and arrival takes place, where the two tribes will exchange knowledge and teachings, stories, wisdom, goods, etc.

Air Nomads:

I think this one is a given. They've basically been established to be peaceful, spiritual monks since before Wan's era, and this has never changed. Only thing that has changed is the establishment of the air temples which presently have not existed for very long. 200 years max. Maybe 100. Flying bison have not yet been discovered either. Most air benders at this time are primarily nomadic, using the temples as way points, educational hubs, and for reunions. It is where young monks are born and raised until old enough to live the nomadic lifestyle (in smaller doses at younger ages and more and more as they get older), something every monk strives for. No monk remains in any temple for too long unless they are too old to travel, in which case they'd end up serving their people from the chamber of elders. Air nomads are universally adored and respected by all people of the world as they are neutral and will provide help and wisdom to anyone despite their nature. For this reason, it is a normal occurrence that, when an air nomad makes their presence known somewhere, they are always given a place to rest and food to eat.
@Crimson Crusade Hi! I'm sorry to bother you, I'm almost done with my post, but I just wanted to fact check something first. You said that the town that Dorje is currently in has easy access to the other nations, right? So I just wanted to ask if that means that it might have a port, like a place that waterbenders on their way to the North-pole and back might stop to re-supply? Sorry if I'm assuming a lot! ^^;

Edit: Posted! Let me know if anything needs to be edited or changed! ^^

There might be a port nearby but the way I have imagined the tavern is it is isolated along a forest and river, off a path that travelers use. It isn't in a town per se, but outside of that yeah if you want to mention there being some sort of port nearby go for it.
I've been wantin' to make a new avatar oc for sooo long. Interested!

Well we now have an airbender and a water bender, both male, if you wanna come up with a character and write a post in the thread! How familiar are you with ATLA and LOK lore?
Alright, awesome! 😁 I am pretty familiar with Avatar, having watched the Last Airbender a LOT, my knowledge of the Legend of Korra admittedly has a gap here or there, though nothing that a quick Google search can't fix! For a character I was thinking about a waterbender who, born a man, was kind of pushed into training as a warrior, but he really wanted to be a healer, so whenever he had a second to spare he'd badger his grandmother(who was quite a talented healer in her days) to teach him everything that she knows. In a group dynamic he'd kind of be the dad-friend. 😁 If anything needs tweaking or changing, let me know and I'll come up with something else!

Sounds good! Feel free to reply to the thread whenever!
Hi, just dropping by to say that this looks really interesting and to ask if there were still spots open? If yes, do you have a character sheet that I can fill out?

I do not have character sheets sorry. So far nobody has jumped in so as far as I know all slots are open. Are you familiar with avatar the last airbender and its lore? Also, the first post of the thread is The link in the first post on this RT. I am hoping to build a team avatar type group but I am flexible. No the avatar will not be involved as he or she is only 8 years old at this point and somewhere in the earth dynasties. The tavern in the post is somewhere in the south western corner of the earth dynasties with easy access to the other nations. Let me know if you have any questions.
Is anyone going to post?

Corbin watched the vampyress flee from the tavern through a scornful glare. How dare she dismiss him so? That vile wretched...his fuming anger drove his hand over the pendant he wore around his neck. The pendant that housed the essence of a winged demon that would obey his every command until the day he set it free...if that day were to ever pass. The pendant began to turn black at the edges then stopped. His apprehension consumed him. If he sent his minion after the bitch who didn't even have the courtesy to introduce herself before completely dismissing him, as if a chance encounter with another of their kind wasn't a big deal, then he'd be left flightless for the time being. His rage nearly got the better of him as the edges of the pendant began turning black once more, his eyes staring venomous daggers at the threshold in which she had just passed through. Damn the wings...she would pay for her transgressions, she couldn't get too far and...

How did he not sense it sooner? The hand that he held over the pendant dropped to his side. The further the unnamed vampyre got from him the clearer the remaining patrons of the tavern became. By this point he had returned to hiding behind the bar from the mage who was looking for him, but the guard found no luck here and had just left. Corbin stood up and couldn't believe what he was sensing...it couldn't be...yet another vampyre? Two others of his kind in the same place on the same night? After having gone over a century believing he was the last of his kind? It wasn't as though he'd hidden away for all this time...he had traveled extensively, even beyond the material plane. He'd taken multiple pilgrimages to other planes of existence in search of answers and meaning and never so much as heard a whisper of the existence of his kind here or elsewhere.

Corbin zoned in on the other vampyre. This one was also female, and compared to the one that had so easily dismissed him...he felt his blood begin to boil at the thought...this one seemed more...to his liking. Whereas the one he'd met first radiated femininity and beauty, this other one seemed as if she'd enjoy soaking a battlefield with blood much like himself. She appeared in every way to be a warrior of some sort, more aggressive and in tune with what she was, whereas the other one rejected the blood he had so generously offered. Corbin found himself smiling at the potential, but reminded himself that hope was for the weak, tempering his expectations as he approached the silver haired vampyress.

Her golden eyes, much like his own, pierced the dim lighting of the tavern and filled him with excitement. The strange rude creature with the flower sticking out of an eye socket was seated at the bar with her...Corbin groaned at the misfortune that he would yet again have to interact with the thing that spoke as though it had never lived a day on this planet. Rolling his eyes and deciding he didn't care, Corbin took a seat at the bar with the two women. He offered the flower-eyed woman a knowing nod and turned his attention unto the vampyress. Still sipping his chalice of blood, Corbin met her golden orbs with his own. "I haven't seen another of our kind in over a century and now I've come face to face with two in one night..." Corbin said bluntly. He turned to regard the flower lady. "Does this have something to do with you then?" He wore half a smirk across his face when he turned back to the as of yet unnamed vampyress. "The name's Corbin..." He said to her as he held his chalice up in toast. "What's your poison this evening?"

Corbin was taken off guard when the vampyress rejected the blood. He cocked an eyebrow and studied the woman curiously. "No?" He asked as he poured the contents of her glass back into the vial and drank his glass. "What brings you to a place like this?" He asked. Corbin couldn't help but notice that the woman seemed distraught, distracted and uncomfortable.

She seemed to keep glancing in the direction of the entrance to the tavern as if she had somewhere else to be, and wondered if she wasn't as excited to see another vampire the way he was. "Have somewhere to be?" Corbin asked her. "Need a lift?" Corbin slid closer toward her with his drink, hoping the scent would tempt her into sharing the blood.

As they stood behind the bar, and they each glanced toward the entrance periodically, he felt the slight tingle of magic in the air. A moment later the entrance opened and a mage walked in, not just any mage though...this mage was city guard. He carried a decapitated head. The mage was asking patrons questions as a spell projected the head's last moment through its eyes. A projection of himself appeared before the face.

Corbin could easily take care of the mage and be rid of the head once and for all, but he had a feeling this vampyress would look down upon him for such a thing and he wasn't ready to part ways just yet. He grabbed her and pulled her below the bar. "Alright, well..." He went on. "Where did you come from?"
