@Cute Bumber hey hi! I've got no suggestions unfortunately. XD Any type of character you might find in a sci-fi setting, only must be human and no space travel. Technology levels can be pretty high (flying cars and nanobots) feel free to make stuff up. Most characters have spent their lives inside the city, but nobody is forbidden from leaving.

This one may be quite a few posts in, but nothing much really has happened and the PCs haven't moved away from the starting point. You could totally still just wake up as everyone else has thus far, and the doctor/mechaniker NPC will do his orientation thing before dropping you off outside, haha.

As of right now in the RP, the sky above Periphery has split in two -- half daylight, half night. The population of the city has been turned to stone: their souls have been separated from their bodies and now exist as pink glowing gems. The Grit have invaded, and wander freely through the city, collecting these soul-stones for a yet uncertain reason. Our heroes are currently attempting to establish a base of operations from which to find and rescue their loved ones.
New characters would probably have missed being turned to stone, or have just been revived by a mysterious benefactor. There's a lot of noise going on in the house where the other PCs are, so it'd be a pretty clear place to find other living humans.
Otherwise, there are emergency transport sigils located at most road intersections, which have been activated for the first time ever. They will transport the PC to the cavern underneath the queen's tower, from which the queen can bring the PC up to speed before sending them off again.
