I feel like we've met before. We were in a Roleplay before? Your name sounds incredibly familiar.

Welcome back to the site! Hopefully you're able to get back into the swing of things again without too much of a hassle.
no, the edgelords have their place.

We have ours.

I beg all of you to return to fighting in the status bar. It will become all edgy statuses again without it.

is this the new unpopular opinions thread
Day 25 // An acoustic song you love.

It doesn't actually matter to me how this song it played, because regardless of how it is played, it is still an incredible song and can probably be considered to be one of my favorite songs in general. This much can be indicated by the fact that I have this song "favorited" on Pandora whether it'd be the original version, the acoustic version, the live version and whatever versions out there that exist of this song. For the sake of this challenge, however, I'll go ahead and say that the acoustic version of this song is superior, even though I still believe that this song is superior regardless of how it is played.

Day 26 // A song by your favorite band.

Although Bastille is officially my favorite band, I've already used their music for three challenges already. For this reason, I'm going with a favorite band of mine from about two years ago: the enigma known as Junior Doctor.

Junior Doctor only released one album before breaking up and are virtually unknown because of this. This, however, was enough for me to declare them as one of my favorite bands of all time. Not only do I believe that their music incredible, but I also believe that they are incredible. I was Facebook friends with the lead singer's wife and she, along with the band itself, believed in "healing through music" and often put their revenue towards charities and donations. It was very bittersweet when they decided to break up because they did it for their families, but they managed to leave behind a legacy of healing and fluffy music in their wake.

Polaris Yukon

Location: At the edge of the capital city || Time: Just before dawn || Interacting With: Everyone.

Polaris was about to respond to Cas's nonsensical comment about the king's illness and how poison would've killed him by now and how not even the best healers in the land knew what the disease was, so how would he?, but he was cut off by the arrival of the aforementioned trio. It seemed that his presumption was correct and they would be traveling with the gathered group. One was the hot-headed woman, another was named Illistrianna and the last one was named Malakaus. The second individual seemed to have Elvish descent and the third was of orcishkin. Good to know.

What was also good to know was the forming tension between Illistrianna and Vauldis. Good to know.

By Polaris's count, there was twelve out of thirteen members and this meant that they were missing one. When that last member came along, what then? Would they leave? Where exactly would they be going? All these questions that Polaris had were apparently going to be answered as indicated by the appearance of a new trio that he only faintly recognized. One was a blond man dressed in royal blue who was not much older than Polaris and the other two were obviously servants of the castle. The first one was King Horace III's top advisor, Elijah Hopkins. Polaris met him once in a strategy meet many years ago. The other two, the servants, he simply knew as Florence and Oliver. He met both of them once during one of his brief visits to the castle where they were both well-liked. Aside from the fact, he knew nothing of the two.

It was Hopkins who spoke after he scanned over the crowd, "Twelve out of thirteen. Not bad, not bad. We didn't think any of you would respond," a soft chuckle from the man. "Allow me to introduce myself, I am Elijah Hopkins, the royal advisor of King Horace III. I'm also the one who mapped out your journey, but it is Florence and Oliver here," he gestures to the two servants, "That have your maps. Along with a small fund to get your journey started: 5000 gold from the Naviance treasury." Small fund? That wasn't small at all. Perhaps this journey was more dangerous than Polaris had initially believed. This much could've been indicated by the party's size as well.

Had they been planning for some to not return?

"They will explain the course of your quest and take you to the stables. All preparations have been done for you aside from buying supplies and choosing a leader for your company. I suspect that would be best left to the rest of you. Now then. Any questions?"
Oh yes! Jenson makes a good point. PM me your Skype if you want to be added, haha. I already have Luci and Luna added to my Skype, so hopefully they won't mind me adding them.
I'm feeling much better today so I plan to try and post in order to move the story alone. Woo!

Anyway, on a side note, I've also considered moving our OOC Chat over to Skype as it would be much easier for me to track (I forget we have an OOC chat sometimes) and it may also help Luna's issue of not being able to access our current one. Thoughts?

I'm going to try to respond to this the best that I absolutely can, but I have been sick for about two days now (including a rather nasty fever yesterday), so I apologize if there are some discrepancies or notable spelling errors.

In response to your first comment: I without a doubt agree with everything you have said and there is nothing there that upsets me. Despite the fact that people on the Guild seem eager to paint me as a snowflake, I am far from such and do not endorse SJWs or feminists. I proudly wear my anti-feminist label and think that some feminists are FAR too quick to paint liars as innocent. There's nothing that makes my blood boil quite like the stories of Mattress Girl aka Emma Sulkowitz. This psychopath lied about a man raping her and was even responsible for clearing his name after basically proving she was stalking him. Was she punished? Nope. She was put on a pedestal and is basically worshiped on college campuses worldwide. Scary.

I have also seen false rape accusations happen in my personal life. Twice I've seen ex-wives hurt their ex-husbands by lying about rape. In one particular case, the ex-wife got their child to lie about being raped. I forget exactly how he got his name cleared (I think the child admitted it was a lie?), but that woman got away without a punishment. In no way is this an "equal" society and this may be the closest example I would have in regards to there being a "rape culture" in the western world: a women can lie about rape and ruin a man's life without anything being done? If she's caught, there's no punishment? Absolute bullshit.

In response to your second comment: Out of curiosity, what martial arts do you partake in? I do Jiu Jitsu and I may go on to learn Krav Maga. Anyway, in my case, I actually do want to learn fighting styles and become a fighter as I'm curious and I simply enjoy it. While it isn't exactly what I would recommend to people for self-defense, it is something and it seems that most dojos (at least around here) offer actual self-defense courses as well.

I hope that clears some things up and as I said: I haven't been feeling too well and there's a likely chance that I misread some of your commentary.
