@Rockette Cool thanks, but heh as for joining I was looking for an answer for how people join the regulars and not becoming a SOLDIER. From the general grist I'm getting I assume at this point that one would just enlist into the army like normal. Unless I'm misunderstanding you. Anyway the background I got in mind for my character is they were pulled from the military so I'm making sure its plausible for someone without much political pull to even be enlisted in the first place, and yeah I think "volunteering" is how they become a SOLDIER.

Also thanks for the explanation about the ranks. For a Third class I imagine their powers would be relatively weak, maybe even not having a full arsenal of powers to use either. Still would be a hell lot more powerful than a squishy human though. Am I wrong on anything here?

Well I'm right in the middle of making a character and I got a few questions now. First, what exactly are the differences between the SOLDIER classes? I get that Commanders are the most powerful, but how much more than say a Third rank? Then I'm wondering what the normal military is like. Would it be comparable to a modern day army just using more advanced technology? Also how do average citizens go about joining, if at all?

Alright, cool think I got a rough concept for a character now. Thinking something along the lines of another close quarters fighter, but more like a shotgunner, perhaps with a melee weapon on the side if possible just not necessary. Guess the biggest inspiration here would be Rangers from XCOM 2 if anyone knows them.

For cores I'm not 100% sure yet, however my gut is telling me to go with Red & Green or Red & Blue.

Oh no, I don't mean anything bad about feeling like an outsider, but figured it would be good to say as much. It just feels odd to be late to the party so to speak, and as I've said I'm sure that feeling would definitely fade once this RP is well underway.

Well, looks like I got a bunch of information to digest first, which I'm completely into by the way. Gotta say it does feel a bit weird to be an outsider to some previous RP, but eh I think that feeling would fade soon.

Anyway no idea what character I want to roll with yet, but I will be thinking, actually more like reading.

@ClocktowerEchos Guess as some input, partly what killed it for me in alpha run was where our characters were separated from the start. Didn't leave a lot for engagement other than writing out a few very simple combat posts.

Maybe if there still needs to be a alpha run then it should have characters together?
