Something lurks within Maysville, NC. From dead rats falling from the sky to statues moving at night, nothing here is what it seems. A strange allure keeps the town from realizing its true nature, citizens chalking it up to hallucinations or urban legends. Put your ear to the ground, and you can hear the town’s secrets being whispered in your ear.

On June 13, 2010, several citizens of Maysville disappeared in the near Hofmann woods for 72 hours. Nobody knows what happened in those unaccounted hours. They were spotted unconscious on June 17, at 4:47 am, everyone having a strange scar branded just below their collarbone.

Worry not! I have confidence in your ability. Your initial post gives me much hope for an interesting RP. Out of curiosity though, will this use a game system, or is it more of a free RP?

thank you :D i was thinking major events/combat could use some altered 5e system and everything else would be mostly free rp. nothings really set in stone yet but i do want to incorporate some 'leveling up' mechanic or just get more stats based on what you do in the rp. example, if you're a bookworm and spend most downtime in the library, you'd gain more intelligence points or something like that.

have any of you seen roleplays that worked like this before? i still want to keep the casual/free aspect of it and make it easy for beginners to pick up

Psychological Lovecraftian Horror set in early 2000's

Inspired by Kollok 1991, Stranger Things and Monument Mythos, this RP will be taking place in a fictional town of Brookhaven, Mississippi. The internet was still growing its roots and technology was advancing quicker than ever.

In this town lies a deep conspiracy, resulting in mysterious disappearances, monsters in the woods and urban legends. A group of teens (our protagonist) go missing for weeks before they are found unconscious in the woods. When they awake, the town and its people are slightly different from before they woke up in the woods. Buildings were there shouldn't be, names spelt wrong, whole states and countries not existing, internationally famous people they haven't heard at all.

They seek to uncover the mystery of their strange new world and discover and unleash beings beyond comprehension.

Modern supernatural royal everyday life: romance, ordinary days, friendship, adventure, and sheer randomness abound.
