Been here on the guild since April '08, seen a lot of change but still love it. I've been on and off, I've GM'd fantastic projects and train-wrecks, it all comes with the territory. I once tried to make a YouTube ad for the guild because I'm slightly insane. In a weird place with the Guild right now, seems like so many names I knew are gone, but more than happy and ready to meet new people. Been writing casually for over a decade, a lot of that practice has been here. I have some small short sci-fi stories printed in anthologies but those are so heavily edited they don't even feel like mine any more.
When not on the Guild I'm most likely working, playing FFXIV or the Souls series or (insert recent must play video game).
Anyone with a passing interest in sci fi needs to read Saga by Brian K Vaughan.

I should have a bulk of more info during today. Enough to start a proper RP thread and gather more interest.
The first question I have for player is how much background do people want?
Is "this is a map of the world now and this is why" all that people want? Do people want mini-nation sheets for each nation? I've put up the timeline of events that caused the War to begin, do people want a detailed history of the war itself? Bare in mind the plan is to start the RP in Europe, in the wake of the War, focusing on rebel factions. Other ideas would be the African front, and the established rebel group in South America.
This is the idea spitballing idea so I want everyone's input!

Just curious, seeing as there are mechs, is there a chance for a nation/group/player to utilize warships instead?
Probably, RP wise, they would be at odds in battle against mechs. Unless it was an assault carrier/battle carrier.
Well any nation with an armed force would have a navy? Saying that mechs are a combat unit doesn't exlcude everything else! And likewise, an armed force of just naval ships wouldn't really do much considering that most conflict is inland. However, perhaps you mean you'd like to be involved in the naval aspect of a larger group/nation?

I'll more than likely do brief summaries of nations, key concepts etc, and then have hider-based expansions of the lore. The former will be considered the 'mandatory' reading for joining and the latter, to be read at leisure in order to understand the world more. I'm also more than happy to hand some of the creative power for anyone with ideas.
I'll have full info on the mentioned nations, and exactly what I plan the RP to be, in the coming day or two.

I enjoy the game. Played heaps on my DS as I'm not into collecting the cards and spending money, but it was good enough for me. Sadly it only ran the old rules without the black/white cards so I have no idea what's going on now.
My main deck for the DS used to contain a Golden Homunculus and relied on Remove from play heaps, as well as Thunder Dragons and their Fusion. Probably not the best deck, but it was fun at least. :)
Ah! There's plenty players like yourself with this casual interest whom I'd love to encourage to get into the game proper! The scene is welcoming, new meta is always fun and the complexity of the game is as deep as you want.
