Oh, I'm still brainstorming on how to proceed. Right now the main issue is that my mall might be too big. Another issue is increasing complexity and how to simplify the RP. Also, I'm finalising the NPCs :). Otherwise, I've got most of the detail in. The worse thing though, is that this is extremely experimental where RPs are concerned, and it's liable to fail. What I'm doing is a first, so I have no example to go by.

On the real life front though, I've got lots of stuff to do, so the Five Nights at Freddy's RP isn't the first thing on my mind. It's more of a side thing really.

EDIT: Moreover, there isn't alot of interest, which is perhaps what explains why no one did this before me. It won't stop me from trying though, you have my word on that. It'd take more than that to stop me.

The ANIMATRONICS stay in one place and screw with stuff, and the SECURITY GUYS(Or girls, whatever) have to do shit about it. I don't know how that'd work, but you have to admit that's a somewhat interesting concept. Maybe?

And yeah sorry again. I mean I don't really like FNAF or the Fandom but I really need to be less of a dick, huh?

I've thought of that, but that would mean that one of the fundamental concept of roleplaying would be violated. By playing as the animatronics, character creation is very limited, as what animatronics there are would have been decided

And I think we've covered the bit about you being a dick. I don't think you are at the moment, although I must say the strikethrough on that last sentence confuses me a bit. There's something to be said about plain text with no caps and strikethroughs though in that it doesn't send down the wrong message, if that's what you're worried about.

Admittedly, this is hard, as I find that it's easy to fall into the trap of making it too gamey. One solution is to make this a tabletop, and the other solution, which I'm currently trying to favour, is to offer something drastically different from what the games have. I'm definitely going to make it such that PCs have a much wider range of options when it comes to dealing with the Animatronics, other than just sitting there and looking at cameras. Other than that, I have a bunch of other general ideas to make this not so 'gamey'.

It would be a great idea. I have my own custom security guard, Katelyn. She should probably work the shift, after he last shifts. ......... Brrr!
@Darkraven She has more knowledge from her previous nights at another shift. At the end, she as worked there. And she has seen what has happened before. So she probably knows what to do.

@Darkraven Okay, what I think you should probably do. Is if you don't want it like REALLY like FNAF. It should take place in the mall, there are Freddy suits lying all around. I've even seen a animatronic robot in a mall. But the animatronic suits are hidden away from public. 12 AM, the night shift. A guard is hired to work the night shift and survive 5 Nights at Freddy's. I think that's a good idea, though Golden Freddy I think would be a hard one to find! And the player can look around and examine the mysteries of Freddy Fazbear's. A nice horror idea, animatronics roaming and trying to stuff the guard inside of a suit.

Interesting idea... I've never thought to put Freddy suits around the mall. I'll probably mutate that idea beyond recognition though haha.

Oh, and since it's not a 1x1 RP, there's going to be more than one nightguard. It's a mall after all. But of course, there can't be too many now can there? No, that'd make it too easy. And too much company = not scary :)

Well, cool then. I'm going to watch this for the giggles. As long as you crank up the spookiness and make sure to brutally murder anyone who screws up juuust too much, I think you'll do fine. Don't know about you guys, but it's always been hard for me to get scared by text. If you want to be spooky, go all-out to compensate for how strangely difficult it is. OFC that's probably just me, but I'd still do it.

And yes I'm absolutely going to provide snarky commentary. And I'll be honest, I have very little hope about this going decently at all. It's extremely easy to mishandle shit like this and just make it go fucky. That's why I'm saying good luck, really. I think you'll need it. >.> No offence to anyone's skills or intelligence intended.

No problem, at least you're being generous with the suggestions and you're honest and apologetic. I've met much, much worse: Guys who are extremely severe, holds grudges, unforgiving and completely devious. Don't worry, you're fine.

I sure as fuck ain't doing this personally but I do want to watch.

Well, since they're security guards for THAT shit, you DEFINITELY need plenty of spoopy planned. Make sure the players know from the outset they can and WILL die a few times. Give a high PC turnover rate. Also, study the large amounts of lore of these games so you're absolutely, positively sure on how these dumb spooky robots work on an 'individual' basis. Like, which ones are you wanting in this one? Are you going to make your own to spice things up a little? If so, make 100% sure they fit in decently enough for minimum bullshit.

Also, get a good feel of the layout of the place, I'd make a simple map somehow. I'm pretty sure there's stuff for that online, search up 'RP House layout generator' or something, or just use MS paint, pretty sure everyone here is chill enough to not give a shit. Also, will the security guards have to do crap like, "Ah crap soccermom #381 accidentally left one of her kids...B-BUT OUR ANIMATRONICS ARE STILL OPERATING. OH SHIT!"? That'd ramp up the panic and add some awesome 'Oh crap I have no idea what's going to happen next!'.

In any case, good luck with this! Do tell what you're going to name it and where you're going to place it, I'm going to provide snarky commentary. If that's okay with you, anyway.

I'm not going to reveal what I've planned because it's gonna ruin it, but I agree with your suggestions whole-heartedly. I've been watching a ton, a ton of videos theorising about FNAF series as well as fan works, been playing the games and reading up about them. There's a lot to take note of, not to mention a lot of material too... Hyuck hyuck.

I'm just gonna say this. The RP is going to both stay true to the games and depart in some ways from them as well.
