Current The hidden benefit of wearing 8 rings total? They double as a pair of brass knuckles in case you get into a fight.

Just as we would turn around and condemn or laugh at our ancestors for their barbarism, our descendants will do the same.

I'm happy with participating in a single RP - Something tells me I'm the only one?

In Batam for a month after quitting my job. Been powering through my writing since. I guess this is where I call myself a full-time professional writer.

@DarkravenWell, I believe I will allow this character. However, being a demon means that the Gods that allow Paladin and cleric magic wont answer your calls, so you might wanna choose a difference class. Also, your character will be particularly...thirsty.

And anyone who has holy items that ward/sense demonic taint will be able to detect you.

Oooh, that's a toughie.

She'll probably be a Knight then, of an order that hunts demons.

What else could detect demons? Like, can a person of strong magical power sense them?

Would a heavy flesh-and-blood disguise make the 'demonic essence' harder to detect? I'll need to determine how she's been able to avoid detection for so long without even knowing that she's a demon...
So... Should I work on my character sheet?

I'll probably need help. The lore looks like it came from Tolkien. :)
Oh no! I struggle every day to stay away from TV tropes and not spend my day browsing it, and now you bring it to my doorstep!

Excellent, all according to plan, hyuck hyuck.

But really, I don't know why I quoted from TVtropes... Just felt like it I suppose.
@DarkravenMy apologies I told you I'd get to this much sooner. OK.
Well that character design might work later, but since we have just begun I'd probably like one of the previously listed races. Though...hmmm...I suppose it might be possible, but Demons are based upon sins. What sin would this demon be?

No worries, roleplaying is a long game. Would be happy to do this over the span of years, if you'd allow me.

I guess I'd have to regress the character design by one step, but it's no less a character. Basically, it's based on this:

It's a succubus. So... Lust. That pretty much covers why it could shapeshift and disguise itself very well, so well to the point that it could forget itself and become a member of any race for a lifetime. It'd just grown a heart, turning into a Jerk With A Heart of Gold. It'd taken forever as a demon, a cataclysmic war and some stunning realisations in a deep infiltration mission, but yeah, she's looking to ascend one painful lifetime at a time.
... Blimey

Lol... That's what people say when I told them that story of how we'd each sooner or later dream that we were butterflies, only to realise that we were really just butterflies dreaming that we were human.

@DarkravenThat doesn't necessarily fit with the lore, but once I have more time to think on it I'll get back to you^^.

Thanks! Take your time. With roleplaying, we've got plenty of that. I'd be glad to tweak and change the character here and there to snap her into the lore.
Are you guys accepting new people?

I'm thinking of a rather wild character concept that worked for a time in the past until a combination of my comparatively poor skills, poor RP etiquette and other things ruined it.

Basically, a shape-shifting demon that'd escaped annihilation by disguising herself as a human being. She grew fond of it, and decided to live amongst the many races. Every time she does this, she would throw on a disguise so heavy that her disguise would become substantial and she would forget that she was a demon... Only to emerge in a shower of blood and gore when her disguise's life runs out and she would remember that she was a demon all along.

I'm thinking her current disguise (at least initially) would be that of a human or Elven paladin or priest/healer.

What do you guys think?
I mean it sounds similar to willy's Martian's ideas. Plus the abduction and stuff wouldn't work as much anymore as 99% of us have super high tech weapons.

Martians? What's that about?

Also, I plan to incorporate how humanity having super high tech weapons and how the Greys having reduced scientific output and stagnated in the past millennium will lead to their missions being tougher, progressively harder to execute, with a high chance that their presence will be discovered, forcing them to take part in the conflicts and politics of humanity, which they previously never did.
Hi guys, I saw the welcome sign up front.

I'm wondering if you guys are open to the idea of a wildcard civilisation, one that could prove to either be a help or hindrance to anyone, and can be unpredictable, all in the name of their great 'Final Plan'.

I'm thinking of a grey alien-esque kind of civilisation that used to routinely abduct humans and to a lesser extent, other species, and has decided to resume its abduction, espionage and interventionist activities after a millennium of absence caused, in part, by a previous crisis and change of leadership that favoured other kinds of pursuits.

It'd be responsible for many weird happenings and phenomenons. Here's a little teaser of what their military would be like:

- UFOs: Their standard ships, not military mainly, but are used for science missions, reconnaissance and yes, abductions, espionage and special ops. Their weapons are mostly non-lethal, and can stun both hardware and people.

- Engineered Human Ships - Humans evolved and bred for various purposes, including military. Ships piloted by these beings are the elites of the greys' military.

- 'Chapter' Ships - Humans who are bred and given simple genetic modifications, making them indistinguishable to other humans. They are descended from humans from various parts of history. They are organised along the time and space from which they are taken. So we can have fleets comprising of anachronistic WW2-styled ships of American or Japanese origin, to even fleets inspired by fiction, like Star Trek, as the Greys examine those too, having come to the conclusion that Humans value art above all else.

Their territory is such a well-kept secret that it can only be described to be a sphere of darkness in space where ships that tried to enter it would never be heard from again... Something along the lines of the Bermuda Triangle (which, in reality, isn't so dramatic, but still).
I'm afraid I can't roleplay even if I wanted to. Ever since finding a proper job, I've finally understood what being swarmed means. Work alone wouldn't have killed it for me. I've already got a regular commitment to my own writing, and for entertainment, I'm very committed to Robocraft - I'm a prominent member of its community and I even have a Youtube channel dedicated to the game.

I'm afraid I have to roleplaying for good, and trust me, I didn't want to. I even have an idea for my own roleplay, based on Game of Thrones, but nah, I give up.
My idea is that he was kidnapped in a conspiracy for the US to maintain communications and diplomatic ties with Asia... He was supposed to assist with the CDC operations, but was taken from his unit.
