Do we really have to choose the masks our parents gave us? I don't think so, which is why I choose my own.

As a note, when I said former British colonies, I meant the Thirteen Colonies as well.
Interested. Reserving the UK and its modern day territories, as well as Germany and any former British Colonies that have not yet been claimed.

Your fine.
Still here, planning post

"Humans not originating from Earth."

Rather then use humans in your history, I advise you to use a generic bad guy alien Empire or something. Humans coming elsewhere then Earth does not make sense within this setting.
Note: Still active and writing my own app, however school has kept me busy. For anyone with a accepted app, feel free to begin posting in the IC.
From the answer I got it seemed that people did still have FTL. It's just that it's less Stargate wormhole drive and more Mass Effect speeds. So we can get to nearby star systems but not places half the galaxy away.

Can confirm
@wxps350 I like to see the tech section expanded.
The Reapers were mindless, the Zerg were(mostly) mindless, yet does that make them not interesting?

When it comes to mindless entities, their thought processes do not need to be interesting. The interest that comes from these types of entities is not in why they do what they do, but the danger and threat they pose to the galaxy at large. I did not care that the Zerg or Reapers had a purpose beyond their actions, only that their actions could lead to the destruction of the galaxy. It creates a interesting threat that can help create conflict not just in battling the entity, but in the conflict that can rise as refugees and such as they flee the entity.

Just because a entity is mindless, does not mean it is not interesting.

Great! My idea for the zerg/tyranid-like entity's backstory is that it was created by a civilization to wipe out other civilizations so that the creator civilization could colonize those worlds. This creator civilization may or may not still be around. Whatever works for story.

Though if you'd want this entity's backstory to be something else I'd be cool with that as well.

Send me a PM with some of the entity's details. I need to find a way to fit that in with the whole Precursor backstory.
