James spent the early morning at the ATF office, he was going through some files and prepping for an upcoming raid on a local motorcycle club that suspected of gun smuggling and trafficking some serious drugs into Boston. He wanted to make sure he had his ducks in a row before committing to any sort of action. James was taking the afternoon off to help his mom and dad out with taking care of his nephews, as his brother and sister in law where out of town at a medical conference in Michigan. James was planning on taking them camping, letting his parents have some time off from watching the kids.
James got up from his desk and walked towards the stairs and proceeded to walk down two flights of stairs to the main lobby. He exited the building and walked over to his 1994 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab, it was red with the classic design of the white strip going from the hood to the tailgate. Once in, he started up his truck and started to drive to his parent's place. He had the radio going, it was set to a news station and they were talking about how people were being abducted, mainly the homeless. JD was sure that Boston PD was looking into things and if it was serious enough they would have called in the FBI, he would however look into things when he got back to work after taking his nephews camping.
Once JD got to his parent's place, his mom, Ava ran up and gave him a hug and said that the CDC was placing some cities under lockdown and Boston was one of those cities, and that Samuel was at the store getting supplies. James told her he would go and check on him to make sure he got everything he needed. He got back into his truck and drove over to his father's military surplus store.
Late November 2017
It had been a few weeks since the city was place under lockdown, James and his parent as well as his nephews were hiding out inside of his parent's bomb shelter. They had enough supplies to last a couple of months, the one thing that they will need once the power goes out is fuel for the bomb shelter's generator. James was the only one that would be able to go and get it as he was the most fit and the fact that he had the most experience using firearms that they had gotten from Samuel's store. It wasn't until the end of November did the power go out and they needed to the generator running. A couple of weeks and their supply of fuel would be empty and he would have to venture out and get some more.
The radio and tv news reports had all made the same statements that people got sick and then they died and within a matter of minutes to an hour they came back to life. James really didn't want his nephews to go out until things got better. James knew that his parents were worried about John and Linda since they couldn't get a hold of them since Boston went into lockdown.
