Bio
Been writing for years. Waiting for the day that I get "good" at it.
What I expect of you:
1. Common courtesy. I haven’t run into many unkind people on here, but kindness is only one part of courtesy. I also expect that you will make a decent attempt to answer my OOC questions/comments. I would appreciate a heads up (if possible) if you are going to be unavailable for an extended period of time. Finally, if you are bored of our game, just say so. I wear my big boy pants most days.
2. Thick skin is an absolute must. If I make a suggestion that something in our RP doesn’t make sense, or if I have to tell you that things just aren’t working out, please don’t be a drama queen. I promise not to be a jerk about it.
3. I would appreciate only people over the age of 18 contacting me.
4. By no means do I believe myself to be an awesome writer, but it would be great if you are as good as or better than me. Looking back over the years, I realize that my writing ability grew the most when I was matched with a superior writer. Since I’m looking to improve myself, you’ll understand why I’m so picky.
What you can expect of me:
1. I am fairly literate and I make an effort to proofread my IC posts. Though don’t be surprised if my OOC communication isn’t as polished.
2. I can commit to being available three times a week at least. I typically prefer to be online for longer periods of time and to get a lot of RP’ing done at once. But I recognize that’s not easy between differing schedules and time zones. Speaking of which, I am in EST.
3. I will happily contribute to plot and setting planning. That being said if I’m not careful I tend to take things over. Don’t be afraid to put your foot down on details and decisions that you feel strongly about. Besides, I appreciate someone who is just as active as I am in contributing ideas.
4. I can play either gender and typically prefer my main character to be male. **HOWEVER** If you have a habit of telling people, “Sorry, I really only want to (can) play female” then please don’t bother contacting me. I feel it shows a serious lack of creativity to limit yourself to one gender. Besides, playing multiple characters is almost always required if the RP is going to have any depth to it whatsoever.
Preferred Platforms: It seems the platform of choice around here is PM. That’s fine with me. However, I am most interested in doing an RP over TitanPad or a similar program. TitanPad is really cool because it allows us to type in real time to each other in a streamlined document. In addition, there is a live text box to the side of our main document that is perfect for OOC chat. If you’re not familiar with this platform but are curious, let me know. It’s really easy to learn how to use and of course it’s free (you don’t even need to make an account).
Genres and Settings: Things I don’t like Anime Most Fandoms Slice of Life Steampunk Dystopian Society
Things I like a lot Post-Apocalypse Historical Time-travel Wartime
(Rough) Potential Plots: I am currently interested in doing a “woman thrown back in time” type of RP. The year/setting is flexible but I think I’d be most interested in Norse, Medieval, Roman, Greek, Hebrew, Western.
I am always up for a good post-apocalyptic RP. The focus can be heavily upon the element of survival, or it can be more political such as in the case freedom fighting or territory wars.
If after reading all this you are still interested send me a PM with the following… 1. A sample of your writing 2. Your current time zone 3. Preferred platform (PM, Titan Pad, E-mail) 4. What kind of RP you are most excited about 5. What type of character you would potentially like to play
Ok, so you are in the Pacific Standard Time zone (PST) then. Okay, I have a job interview that I plan to be home from at no later than 0900 (your time). So, we can start the collab at 1000 (your time) and I will need to be finished by 1315 (your time). Have a darn work competency that I have to go take. Do these times work for you? What will the circumstances/scene for our collab be like? I prefer to start brainstorming now if you have the time.
@Aeonumbra Wow, lol, I keep posting and then seeing other things you wrote. Hold on a second. Let me read your last post before you respond to me. Haha.
@Aeonumbra Well you have an incredibly good attitude about things. I kinda feel like an idiot for complaining to my co-workers tonight about how rough things are there. Props to you. Just stay safe.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I am very flexible when i comes to my character dying off. I will happily write a new one to take his place if the time comes. I realize that this particular setting comes with hazards and that realistically, not every character should make it. My point is, let me know if David's usefulness to the plot has run its course. I truly don't mind and prefer to shake things up now and again.
Also, I'm always down for dramatic entrances. Care for a collab in which David and Abigail meet under "less than ideal circumstances"? That offer is valid for any character on here actually. Just saying. If no one speaks up soon though, I'll probably just go ahead and post.
(UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) 6:06 and reading your cs now.
Heads up to my players, I've recently become homeless (but no worries, it's all good hombres) and I have limited access to internet for the moment. I'm usually able to get on either in the mornings, or the evening, maybe both, or I can (Painstakingly) do things on my phone and do things over Wifi whenever I want, so don't worry about me not being around. I've just been busy running around lately, but I hit up the library pretty often and they have free wifi.
I'm also looking into getting a chromebook (gonna be like 150$, sweet) so I can write using wifi better than on my phone. But no worries, I'll still beable to collab, post, and manage this. Just forewarning you all of my limited time, or that I may not be able to do things as quickly anymore. For the most part, it shouldn't effect things too much. I love roleplay too much to let it.
I was so excited about you accepting me into the RP that I totally missed this bit. Sorry to hear about the housing situation :(. I am glad that you think you'll still have time to run the RP though.
Awesome! And, thank you. So, I may throw in a couple of minor details and change some things... may have David's sister turned into a brother for example. Would you like me to check with you on these changes before throwing in an initial post? Also, would anyone like to collab? I would be willing to wait to join in until there is a more opportune moment in the story.
Been writing for years. Waiting for the day that I get "good" at it.
