@Derg2 So without the slavery, it's more... tonal things? Like it's just plain off to take what is a shorter than human race, apply malnourishment, apply only being 16 and a guy, and come out with a 6'5 wall of muscle. Something here doesn't add up.

Apart from that, if he's a Hundi dead set on following traditions, it might be advisable if the journey was actually concluded by the time he reached Estival. Weird engagements would otherwise be a risk. Though that could still be a thing in play, it's worth acknowledging.

Also, given the sheer number of people who have already posted a bio or expressed interest (here and in PMs), I think it's best if the roleplay stops accepting more people who have yet to say anything, at least until it's started and the stable player base is clear.

In light of the recent issues with following setting, I think it's best I knock move him up to 18 and call his journey done. I'll say he went to estival, and decided adventuring was dope or something and stayed there.

Malnourishment wasn't an issue in the backstory. Between meals at the orphanage and food bought from working (which rex didn't have to share because orphans are mean) I imagine he ate quite well. Generally, the idea started off as "turbo big dog man" so I kinda want to stick with that if anything. I mean, what's life (or fantasy rp) without a couple outliers ;).
If you have any suggestions as to make this tonally better please lmk otherwise I'll probably scrap Rex and try for another character.

I made a post earlier but it kinda got swallowed. One of the first post's qualms was with the shirtless wooden sword thing being too weak for rank 4. This saddens me greatly, but I conceded that I would let him wear some armor and have a better sword. Say leather armor and a bronze sword. Would this satisfy the requirements for rank 4?

for the record I didn't mind being told to fix lore stuff.

In fact, you're welcome to berate me any time GMs 😉.
@VitaVitaAR My gratitudes for the review. The mana thing was a meme that would've been epic but I'm not too sad to concede it. And hold on... I'm getting a call from the CEO of social inequality in the hypothetical canon of yet to be accepted backstories. He says that slavery is no more! I have already made these changes in the initial post.

However, I draw the line at the ban on shirtlessness and I would like to plead my case. The very essence of my character has been crafted upon the foundation that is the absence of a shirt. I refuse to believe that platemail would provide any more protection when he already has abs of steel to stand in the path of incoming blows...

Just got a call from the CEO of making objects beyond their budget appear out of no where for characters who do not have alot of money. He says that Rex can have metal stuff. But that doesn't mean he's wearing a shirt* outside of combat. Provided this is enough to pass the bar for rank 4, I will make these changes.

ok now please accept me.

edit: *unless someone politely asks him to IC in which case he most certainly will.
This one is quite quick: no.

oh god this means my rejection will be slow and drawn out D:

The drink that once resided in Cain’s hand seemed to fall in slow motion. Gwendolyn, who quarreled in front of him, was the first thing he registered in his view, and by the time he noticed her abrasion had jostled his drink out of his hand, it was too late.

...Or, that’s what Cain had believed. While the drink appeared to fall in slow motion, Cain realized that he himself could move just fine. With a degree of finesse he had not known himself to be capable of, Cain plucked his glass out of the air without spilling a single drop. Though he was unsure as to what exactly just happened, he was nonetheless impressed with himself. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, it seemed that no one had paid attention to Cain's tremendous feat of dexterity.

Still riding the high that is self-admiration, Cain turned to his side and was met with the gaze of a young woman. As he gazed upon her pale skin, Cain’s stomach once again reminded him why he was drinking tonight. He looked away dejectedly.

It was only as he once again felt the carnal vampiric drive well up within his chest -- what’s left of it at least -- that he began to size up the crowd as if he were a lion stalking a gazelle.

Like a beacon, Rose attracted Cain’s hungry gaze. His eyes, like those of a snake about strike, softened and he shook away the haze of bloodlust. While he could tell that she spoke with Cain’s wellbeing in mind, he also sensed the caution about her words.

”Don’t call me bud.”

Dismissing a girl like Rose went against everything Cain had learned in highschool. He was grateful, truthfully, to have someone who drove his attention away from his hunger. And somewhere buried beneath the cacophony of vampirism, the fraternity side of Cain was screaming.

But Cain knew that Rose was right to have caution. In his current state, a simple conversation could lead to something Cain could never go back on.

there goes my plan for Mr. Bones
Sapient undead still for the most part look like they're alive; since they come back at the moment of death and have explicit regeneration.

An intelligent undead that isn't would be a lich and you can imagine how poorly a terrifyingly powerful evil necromancer fits in. :p

my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined

  • Sapient Undead: Living beings who have, for whatever reason, revived after death with their mind intact. Usually this process only occurs with the recently dead. In place of the inherent life of any living being, they possess what magi refer to as a "mana reactor", a wellspring of mana simulating life and allowing a corpse to be animated. Their bodies do not decompose, and they are immune to poisoning or the effects of bloodloss(though their blood does indeed flow it serves no purpose). The "mana reactor" allows their bodies to heal, but decapitation is unquestionably death for even the most powerful of sapient undead. They can also be hacked to pieces, their bodies capable of healing but needing its parts to be fixed in place before such a thing is possible. One possible source of Sapient Undead is necromancy.

big interested.
