I'm around... for now.
Did you miss me?

Anyways, I'm going to let Wyvern take control for the next post so that he can get me and him closer to the main group.
Loaded into the SUV was a backpack liberated from the mall by Elder Rivers. Its contents included two changes of clothing, several reading books, some candy, and some vitamins. The backpack itself was a black nylon bag with two straps. It had two compartments. One main compartment which held his clothing, and another smaller compartment which held the smaller vitamin bottles. Rivers also grabbed a golf club- a driver. Finished with his "shopping", Elder Rivers walked to Rudolph and saddled the snowmobile, pulling the nylon switch once again, turning all the snow mobiles on.

"Here we go" he shouted, turning the speed to as fast as the machines could carry. He had on a mask, and his sleeves were unrolled, cuffed at his wrists to protect his arms- if only from blood. He knew that getting a bite or scratch would be fatal. Elder Rivers couldn't risk being bitten, but at least his face was safe.Elder Rivers stopped near one of the mall exits, but far enough from it to be clear of the door.

Elder Rivers cleared a path for Santa's sleigh so that he could head out- just there was one problem. Walkers awaiting just outside. He'd have to pick them off one by on as they entered, then clear the path again. That way, he could ensure his and Santa's safety.

He opened the front door for Santa and gestured at the door then reached to the back seat to grab his golf club.. Before saying anything, Elder Rivers ran towards the door, and forced it ajar. He made it just wide enough for the SUV to go straight through without any trouble, then ran back before he was in any danger. He clutched his gold club to his side like a baseball bat.
Ah. Site's back up, fresh post, fresh page. Life is good.
"I'm not sure what else we need..." Elder Rivers stated. He scanned around the halls of the mall to check for an exit. There was probably something upstairs that he could have looted as well. Of course, a Mormon has no need for silly toys or clothing. That is, if he were getting his own planet, Elder Rivers could have all that he needed!

The Mormon returned his attention toward Santa, who had seemed like he still wanted something. "If you want to look around the store, we could split up and meet back here. It's not like we have plans anymore." Elder Rivers suggested. Rivers took another look upstairs before turning back to Santa again. He switched focus between the two before finally taking his first step toward the broken escalators.
Elder Rivers glossed over a section of the store dedicated to saws- normal saws were too floppy to be reliable; chainsaws needed too much fuel and were much too heavy to be reliable. Then, he saw an axe. It was the only one in the store. The other axes seemed to either have already been bought or lifted during the chaos of the apocalypse. He took it, holding it in one hand near the head. It was too heavy to use on the sleigh, however. There was plenty of candy lined at the counter. Elder Rivers grabbed as many of it as he could, stuffing it into his fanny pack.

When Elder Rivers went back ot the SUV to load in his axe, he noticed that Santa wanted something from him. "Yeah?" he asked.
I didn't think Wyvern and I were really going all too fast.
Whirring noises and a chopping motion. Elder Rivers was certain this wasn't any sort of greeting or handshake- they had already been met. He turned around to see if someone was there, but as he suspected, it was no one. Elder Rivers wondered why Santa couldn't simply talk- or maybe he's been trying to but all the sounds were muffled by the mask.

Elder Rivers turned his attention back to the store, picking up a welding mask and protective gloves. He figured those would be the most useful against the zombies. He also needed some kind of a weapon- or at least one stronger than a BB gun. A blow torch and propane tank would work- but wouldn't be so effective while on the sleigh. He sat back and pondered what he could possibly use.
I wouldn't expect a ten year old to understand sexuality. Then again, ten year olds are getting sex change operations all the time; so what do I know?
Santa's growls were barely audible over the nine roaring engines. Elder Rivers turned back to check before noticing Santa point towards a hardware store. Elder Rivers turned towards the store, pulling the SUV with him. In front of the store, he stopped, getting off Rudolph.

"What could we do here?" Elder Rivers asked. He stepped towards the SUV to help Santa out of the car, opening the door for him. Elder Rivers then stepped into the store himself, having an idea. He looked for masks- something he could see through but could still protect his face from being bitten, lest he begin to turn and have to wander the rest of his days on Earth as a zombie instead of dying happily and getting his own planet.
