Rebekah Green
Having done with her own fight, Rebekah found it much easier to relax and reflect on the experience. Sitting back in the bright, warm classroom filled with the chatter of other students, it was easier to look past the fact of her defeat and see the positives. She had done well, and even Mimic had said so. She could be proud of how she'd performed. His suggestion for her suit seemed like a good one, though she wondered if she could ever abandon a bag completely. His advice to work on her speed was good too. She could do that - it was a concrete, tangible goal for her to work at.
Yes, she could see the benefits of Mimics methods now that she was out the other side. When she had been in it, it had been difficult, frustrating and a bit frightening, but if that was what it took to make her a better hero, then so be it. She was determined to be more than just the screw-up who got expelled from Super School for nearly levelling the place.
Another benefit of having volunteered early was being able to devote her thoughts to looking around her at the other students in the room. They seemed a pretty diverse bunch, and for the most part she couldn't do much to guess at their abilities just by looking at them. Perhaps the girl with the large jug and a flower in her hair could do something with water, and a girl next to her seemed to glow with a faint luminescence, but other than that, she couldn't speculate too much.
A few more students entered, and another got up to hug one of the new arrivals. A lot of the second years seemed to share an easy companionship, talking and laughing with each other amiably. Seeing them made Rebekah miss her old friends, and teammates especially. Starting over this year meant leaving them behind, and they left a definite gap in her life.
This seemed like a good time to go about fixing that, and start talking to a few people. She had seen enough of the Academy already to know that it was a seriously amazing place, but even with all of its charms, a year of her life spent here without a few good friends by her side would seriously suck. She had already made one sort of acquaintance, companion, or something in Toto, even if he didn't want to be called her friend, so that was a start, but it would be good to have some more human people to talk to as well. Talking to people was the first step in making friends, so here goes nothing, right?
Rebekah leaned over to the glowing girl at the next desk. She had very light hair and wore a bright white dress that made her seem all the more shiny.
"Hi there" she said softly.
"I'm Rebekah. And you are..?"
