Alexei Dargunov | Yoshida Book Cafe

Elena finally served the full order at the table she waited on. Alexei had finally manage to make good of the canned tuna in the fridge for making pickled Tuna. It was nowhere near restaurant quality but it was certainly good enough to be served. There wasn't much traffic after the original occupants of the cafe left for various reasons. Toma was quick and efficient in putting things away properly and in order and they managed to shut food counter orderly.

Elena had done a good job in supporting Toma through the whole thing and at the end he was gracious enough to hand her a 5K yen tip that she had earned. Though it had been dubious at best since the one who left it hadn't ordered anything but Alexei's argument was snuffed seeing the happiness on his baby sister's face.

They parted ways with Toma and went shopping for supplies for the week. Starting tomorrow the schools resumed which meant meal management and stockpile of ingredients on Alexei's part. He was going through the list of things he would be making for his sister as they walked absently towards the store. He seemed to be absorbed in mental management of the coming week even as they shopped. Elena had thought of breaking the silence but decided against it.

As they were walking home, she finally spoke after more than an hour of silence, "I'm tired, Onii-chan."

"Huh!"

"Carry me home." she said drawing her arms in front of her. A pout appearing on her face. Piggy back rides had been a staple of her growing up. When she was small, she'd ride the back of Alexei for hours though he never complained.

"Now! Are you sure?"

"Yeah! I am very tired. Carry me."

"Won't you be made fun of if your friends see?"

"I don't care." Alexei shrugged at her response and bent down next to her. She wrapped her hands around him and soon they began to move again. To Alexei who carried heavy beams and equipment almost daily. His sister didn't weigh more than a feather. But Elena's eyes were moistening a bit. She didn't know why she acted this way, why was she testing him but it seems her brother would never say no to her demands. She felt a pang of sadness as a few stray tears roll down her eyes.

'I better grow up soon and marry.' she thought to herself, that was the only way to not burden her dear elder brother.

Warakuma high

The Golden Week was finally over and many good things had happened over the week to keep the classmates gossiping but Alexei was rather surprised to learn of another kidnapping. This time of a girl who was a known face among the kids here with him. She was some sort of idol. Alexei remained focused on the lessons that slowly passed by. The day was rather dull and dreary but he had remained in thought.

'There has to be some relation.' The kidnappings had a few similarities but many differences. They all had involved people getting abducted and then left near their home. They also didn't have any physical injuries or mistreatment. All the kids had made a surprisingly fast recovery. Plus, they weren't target a particular sex. It was a bit dumbfounding. Alexei had thought of asking Matt about the circumstances of his disappearance but had decided against it.

In the end he had decided to just practice with his two friends at the gym. There was no drama club today, nor he had done the sketches for the manga strip he was planning, so it didn't seem like he had any pressing matters to address. Thus a tough practice would put his mind at ease. He practiced for a few hours before packing up and leaving for work. He dropped Inoue at her home asking her to be careful. He then went to work, there was a site he had to visit regarding faulty wiring.
@Reaper

If you are reassigned to Class 3-1 then I think you're the second Yakuza girl there. If in Class 3-3 then you are with some who have had some experience against the yakuza. xD
still here. Although barely. Waiting for my dungeon, hopefully.
Elena Dragunov | Yoshida Book Cafe

"I'l just take a look and let you know." Elena politely replied to the gentleman who had finally decided on his order. She quickly sauntered over to Alexei to look at what he was doing at the little counter literally too small for him to move around in.

"Nii-san! got any thing going? The guy sitting there wants to know if you have spicy tuna." she said in a light tone. Alexei was quite averse to the idea of pickling or spicing up sushi but it was all the rage among the people his age and it was easier to go towards public choice than stick to your choice. He had already prepared the spice mix for the curing of the tuna he had finely sliced.

"It will be ready in about ten minutes. Give him his beverage till then. The pickle would settle in well till then." he replied calmly, occasionally stealing a glance at Shizuka, who seemed to have settled down now. His tense expression seem to loosen up a bit. Elena flashed him her affable grin to give him some cheer before hopping back to the man settled at the table not far from the scene of accident.

"It will be ready in ten. I'll serve you your Americano first, or would you like to have them simultaneously?"

Elena looked at the boy curiously, it seemed that he too knew the unfortunate girl in question but when he asked her for her thoughts she could help but be blunt.

"Well it will only make it more crowded, I can count atleast two more people than it is needed to help her out. You could always wait till things calm down a bit and then maybe check up on your friend there." she said pointing at the girl.

"Anyways, I'll get you your Americano. Would you like to order something on the side." she said, stealing a glance at Alexei behind the counter. The serious look in his eyes and the way he held two knives, she knew it was sushi made to order.

"Looks like we'll have shrimp and Sushi soon. Would you like some?" she said in a polite soft voice. She stood a little bit afar so as not to tower over her guest.

Alexei shook his head at her words and dismissed them with a strained smile. "There is no need to return anything, it was no favor. Just genuine concern, should you need help in future don't hesitate to ask." he said gently before leaving the table to give them more space. The rice would have cooked till now, he checked on them and then put the seaweed on boil. It was time to cut the fish which had been kept deboned and cleanly.

Sharpening two knives against each other like some restaurant chef, he quickly and expertly began slicing the fish as rice were transferred into a pot of vinegar.

Meanwhile, a new customer had walked in and Elena had noticed him.Just then the guy she was waiting on decided to throw the onus on her, her eyebrows twitched at the response but she displayed no emotion on her glass face before smiling a bit with a nod of agreement. He was probably like those people who couldn't decide on one thing. Watching videos over the internet and practicing in the club she was in, Elena had a fair idea of Latte art, she thought that maybe that would be a good surprise for the male.

She sauntered over to the new boy and asked politely in her honey sweet voice.

"What would you like to order, sir?"
Is there someone who wants to write with me so I can get back into the swing of things here? I've been gone for a while, and I want to prove that I'm still good for writing for you guys.
