The 'Plot' | |
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Currently, the RP lacks any plot and I can assure you that this is entirely intentional. The roleplay will be heavily reliant on your writing skills, and as such a large portion of the roleplay and its' plot will rely on your ability to come up with interesting quirks for your characters, and things they can and will say to other characters.

However, if that was all there was, this would not be an RP that lasted long. To amend this there is a vague hint of a plot available, did you wish to pursue it. And it's an obvious one; what even is this place? It would be interesting if one character could bring other characters together after getting to know them and spending time with them, to figure out just what this lounge they are in actually is. And the answer is likely more convoluted and strange than they might even expect, if they find it at all. In the history of the lounge, nobody has ever found out much about it, so keep that in mind when you go exploring and realize; every step forward is a step that nobody else has taken, most likely.

The Setting | |
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Suddenly, you find yourself in a strange environment. Behind you is a set of locked doors with blurry glass in them, and when you look through them you can make out little more than what seems to be total darkness. It must be night, it seems. Through the heavy, double door in front of you you can see a large area with bright lights and jazzy music playing. A sense of calm has taken over your body since the moment you entered, but it is only now beginning to settle in you that you feel remarkably.. relaxed. Even more so, you suddenly realize just where you are; a lounge. Then.. surely your purpose when you came here was to sit down and, well, lounge? Through the double door you will find an exceptionally equipped lounge, where doors somehow magically appear with new rooms behind them that somehow fit your imagination. The vintage and rustic looks of the lounge seem to put you at ease even more than the strange effect did when you entered. Hm, perhaps this place isn't so bad, after all?

The Time Pocket Lounge is a lounge set in some alternate dimension of spectacular design. Not only is time irrelevant here, as evidenced by the fact that people from all era's are in the lounge, it's also in direct contact with earth itself. Nobody quite knows how or why, but some people just happen to find themselves in this lounge all of a sudden. Faced with a sudden new location would be entirely alarming, but it seems that this universe has accounted for that, and the moment a new arrival appears in the entryway, they feel a sense of calmness and familiarity overcome them. Not only that - no, that would not be enough to prepare them for the technological shock they were about to endure. Besides the calming nature of the universe, it also somehow informs them of the workings of the lounge at the moment of arrival.

There will be no cavemen swinging their giant club around because they are confused with the concept of beer, oh no!

The machinations of the Time Pocket Lounge are mysterious and none have quite managed to figure out how it works, but really, what need is there to figure anything out at all if you are faced with such luxury! You have but to imagine it, and it will appear. This Soviet Cosmonaut wants to have a karaoke hall? So be it! A door opens and a cozy karaoke hall presents itself! The Cherokee warrior wishes for a smoking lounge? So be it! Yet another door opens and presents itself with a cozy smoking lounge!

Thus, opportunities are endless, but if amusement is not your thing, fear not, the wide variety of drinks (namely, every drink to exist and have ever existed before!) will be more than enough to sate your alcoholic desires!

So, take a seat, and enjoy your stay in the Time Pocket Lounge! It's not like leaving is an option, after all!

The Premise | |
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

In this roleplay we will take on the roles of characters, original or 'canon', from historical era's of our world. So, think among the likes of cavemen, hunters and gatherers, geisha's, samurai, cowboys, soldiers from world war one or two, etcetera. Any era is possible, so long as you remain in the existing history of our world. Know of an interesting historical figure you'd like to portray? You can play them too.

Suppose they somehow arrived in this lounge where they can relax and hang out with other people from other era's (or the same, if luck favors that). They can talk and discuss, they can engage in activities together, in short they can interact with each other in any way possible. Always wondered what a Soviet soldier would say to a samurai? This is your chance to find out (or rather, fabricate it yourself). Nothing, thus, is out of reach.

Or is it? Although this is an RP that focuses on the interactions between characters, and yes, that might mean characters that are radically opposed to each other would meet, this is not an RP for fictional battles between historical figures or ideologies. Let's suppose that there's some sort of effect over everyone that prevents harm from befalling anyone.

This means that the RP is highly based off of dialogue and interaction. As such, the players make the game. The way this will take place is thus entirely dependent on the players and how far they are willing to go to create interesting dynamic and dialogue. Consider it, if anything, a way for aspiring writers to improve their dialogue writing skills, and their ability to immerse themselves in a character. That means, yes, you may and should create a character that has interesting views, view that are outdated or that you disagree with. For the sake of character development, why not?

You're also allowed to just make your own, as long as the character sheet is well taken care of and presents the required information in a readable way. Be creative.

In any case; change and color it how you want to have it. Make it fit your needs, not mine.

Interested; sounds casual.

You sound casual.
Alright, an OOC will open. Soon.
@Buddha
Bastard sword is a relatively recently made up and improper name for something between an arming and two handed sword. I mean if you look up bastard sword there isn't even any entry on it the first thing you'll find is a wikipedia article saying "longsword." It's a name so ebin it makes cool kids like skallagrim, meta and lindymeme lose their shit.

Depends on what you consider new.

The Masters of Defence competition organised by Henry VIII in July 1540 listed two hande sworde and bastard sword as two separate items.

Some 500 years ago, I presume, is new then. Not that it matters for the setting of this RP.
@Andreyich not all longswords are bastardswords, but all bastardswords are longswords.
Once more, the door swung open, this time revealing a rather large old man, whose body seemed to defy time. His muscles bulked, ever so more visible due to the fact that he wore little more than a skirt. If you could not see his face, you could easily have been misled into thinking that this was the body of a young man in his peak, but alas, it was not true, for the tattooed man was well over his sixties, and seemed to still be in fighting condition. As he entered the room, he laughed loudly, his voice being warm and masculine as one would expect from someone his size. His eyes scanned the room around him, which appeared to be the lobby, before stepping deeper into the room and letting the door clatter shut behind him.

“It seems I am in the right place,” he said, loud enough for those interested enough to hear, but not loud enough to overpower everyone else in the room. For his aggressive nature, he had a mild sense of tact when it came to social occasions. “Just a minute ago, I accidentally walked into the ladies' toilet thinking it was the lobby. What can I say, my eyes aren't what they used to be!” Again his thunderous laughter sounded before he walked into the cafeteria that was situated within the lobby.

“Truth be told, I'm not even sure how I came here. We're not on earth, are we? Some of you friendly folk don't look entirely normal, after all. Hmm. Thinking about it, how did I get here anyway? All I remember was drinking a bit too much, and suddenly I was enrolled in something called a New Beginnings Tournament, or some stuff like that. Crazy how that works, isn't it? Hohohoho...”

Though the other contestants that were present seemed to be entirely busy with preparing for the fight, this much wasn't true for Sutemasu. It wasn't even out of arrogance - he had come in here not knowing how, why or when he'd signed up, and much less did he expect to win. In the end, he just wanted to test his strength, and resolve whether or not he was made of the same steel as others were. What else is there in life but to test your mettle, in every aspect of it, against others? There was always someone superior to you, and perhaps they were in this very room right now, he thought. Curiously, he looked around at the other contestants, smiling brightly at them, before turning his attention to the bartender. “Give me a shot of your hardest, that it may take the edge off, friend. The nerves are striking me now, what with these fighters in the room here with me, giving me the creeps.”

Without a word the bartender smacked down a drink for him, which Sutemasu promptly slammed back, before turning in his seat. As he twisted, he leaned forwards slightly, resting his arms on his own knees, holding onto the glass as he looked at the other contestants once more. “My name is Sutemasu, at any rate. It's a pleasure to meet you all today. I wonder what extravagant events they have lined up for us. Surely this is no normal tournament, as I can tell each and every one of you is miles ahead of the rest. And so, the events must be miles ahead of the regular earthly events too! Hohohohoho, it's only natural after all.” Even in this dormant position he was sitting in, his muscles seemed tense, hard as steel even. But now that he looked around, he realized that these others... well, he was sure there was more to them than they betrayed on the surface. The man with the wolf was an obvious one, as his companion betrayed that he was not a regular person, but the others were harder to read, perhaps. Not much he could do about that now. So, he just leaned up and put the glass down on the bar behind him again, waiting for someone to say something to him, or for something to happen.

Hm, something had better happen soon. He didn't sign up for this tournament for nothing. Or well, he did, but now that he was signed up, he wanted to make the best of it. Hoho, it's only natural, after all.

捨てます, discard

Name:
Sutemasu

Age:
68

Height/Weight:
6'3"/1.92m
209lbs/95kg

Personality:
Sutemasu has an explosive personality - he's easily rattled and will charge into battle seemingly convinced he'll come out unscathed. The many scars on his body are a reminder that this is not always true, but the fact that he is alive despite his nature seems to prove a point regardless. For this reason he might be easily convinced into a ruthless assault, lacking the clear mind and vision his opponents might have. This is balanced out with sheer power and perseverance. He will continue where others would fall down and die - this is not something purely physical, it's also something in his personality. A fighter will give up once the pain is too much, a warrior will continue to fight against the odds so that he may die fighting. It is this philosophy that causes Sutemasu to fight and it's this philosophy that gives him youth. After all, what greater opponent is there other than time?

Equipment:
The man wears a long skirt of sorts with enough width to allow him to move in whatever way he wants. And yes he wears underwear underneath, wishing to spare his opponents the shame of having to look at his privates. Other than that he wears nothing else. No better weapon exists other than the weapon given to man by nature, their body.

Abilities:
Overbearing Attack:
Though the overbearing attack is less of an ability and more of a style, it is worthwhile mentioning here for a lack of better placement. Though Sutemasu lacks any ability, magical or otherwise, his extreme physique are more than capable of balancing this. His body is hardened and his muscles are strong, and for an old man he is remarkably quick and flexible. He's too old to fight! some might say, and in response he'll flex his muscles and call you a whippersnapper. His overbearing attack is purely his style of attacking - determined to destroy the enemy and beat them to a pulp, his fists and arms are like cannons that fire round after round.

tl;dr he is very strong, has a large stamina pool and is very nimble, to counteract the fact that he's got no real abilities. Dude is basically the living embodiment of 'while you were studying your magic, I was lifting weights and doing cardio.' Of course he won't be hopping around dodging every attack. He's a human after all.

Will to Power:
Sutemasu has the will to power - he will keep going no matter what. Break an arm? Yeah it hurts. He'll just use his other arm to beat you to a pulp. Somehow he is capable of mentally blocking out the pain of such things, so that even if you throw a gigantic rock at him, he'll tank the hit like a champ, cough a bit and throw up some blood before attacking you again. He's not really done until he's dead, so to speak. Of course, he still takes damage. He just doesn't really feel it.

Menacing Presence:
His sheer physique and impressive stature are more than enough to give any mere thug reason to pause, and consider turning away from this old man to pick a more opportune target. So, for his opponents, perhaps this will have a psychological effect on them, causing hesitation or no. Perhaps not. That really is up to them and their mental fortitude.

Unwavering Chargé:
Once Sutemasu sets out to attack you there is very little you can do to stop him. And given his nimble and aggressive nature, you better be equally as swift. He'll come in and won't stop coming until he's had enough. And Sutemasu, Sutemasu never has enough.

Experience level:
Low.
<Snipped quote by Buddha>

You'll have to post your character in the character area, before it will be judged. At that point, Ill be sure to poke Rilla to get him on top of it. He's very lackadaisical, so often needs prodding. Which is why I'm here. Lol.

Figured I'd have to post it here, and then in the character area, but that works.
So we're mostly waiting on Buddha's character to show up and a bit of banter before starting yeh?

I've yet to be accepted.
