Having spent more time than I should looking at giant robots, this one speaks to me, although it's not at all what I want to write for this RP.
That's thicc.

A melee heavy mech could work, like a sort of medieval knight in space kinda vibe, relying on its size and armor to keep it safe, while still being mobile enough to function as a fighter. Probably not melee only, but it could definitely be melee heavy, with a few supplementing ranged weapons so its not a sitting duck while making its way to the front.
That said, I'm sure something akin to a Macross Destroid (or the Warhammer if you favor Battletech's ownership over the mech over Macross/Robotech ownership) would suffice nicely as a heavy weapons platform.
@Dog I'm not sure about the size scaling, but from what I've seen I think Imperial Knight's would be a bit too unwieldy to fit the bill of Heavy.
@Dog Yeah! Battletech stuff works too! You're looking for stuff that would fall into the range of 'heavy' battlemechs in that case, stuff like the Thunderbolt or Marauder would fit the bill pretty well
@Dog Here's some bois I would consider thicc. Some are a bit on the lighter side
@Dog Took a quick lookover of the new mech you wrote up, and while I do like where you're going for it- I think you might've gone a bit too full hog on the chonk. The whole walking fortress sits more on the 'Super-Heavy MAS' end of the spectrum than it does 'Heavy'.
You can and should definitely go for a thicc boi build, but I think a 40k Titan would be a bit too much on the chonk side.
Sorry I didn't reply sooner, there's a lot of people and a lot of concepts going around, and I'm finishing up some assignments for class, so I didn't see it.
