I've written and published two books before my 30th birthday, I'm happy but I should have started sooner.

I stopped RPing for nearly a year because I've been self publishing novels, but maybe I should jump back in again.

A local hairdresser was arrested for prostitution last night. I'm shocked. I was a customer of hers for years, and I didn't even know she was a hairdresser.

I already told you Im not fishing just because I dont expand on all my criticisms. You calling me aggressive for confirming my postions isnt going to stop me from correcting you where you're wrong, sorry.

If I say big popular game sucks and its for babies, be sure to call me out for saying it sucks and its for babies.

If I say game is alright, then follow up by saying its polished and of a decent quality but still undeserving of its hype, then dont tell me I think it sucks that'll look stupid.
@Dynamo FrokaneWhether she was talking about/to you or not has nothing to do with my point. My point is what you said was hypocritical. Nice strawman though ;)

Your use of strawman is incorrect. I'm not debating you. I'm asking you to provide me an answer, if you cant provide it then fine. Dont know what else to tell ya.

@Fabricant451

No, I was speaking for myself. I said that the game wasnt mind blowing but it was alright. I can enjoy an alright game, and I can think an alright game is quality.

I do think some games are mind blowing, I dont think all quality games are mindblowing.

I didnt contradict myself.

You can give me reasons why you came to a wrong conclusion about what I thought about the game, and thats fine. But it was still wrong. The adjectives I used are not the same as yours, as much as you like trying to draw a character assesment from my other posts you are never going to know what I mean unless you ask me. If you dont want to ask me then fine, but you're gonna be wrong.

@Dynamo FrokaneAll my points were is that if you're gonna call someone out on something, maybe don't do it, cuz that's hypocritical

So who was she talking to/about when she pinged me, quoted me and directly said 'you'?

If you can give me a more reasonable answer I'll take what I said back.
<Snipped quote by Dynamo Frokane>

Wait, wait, wait. Weren't you making a point about Fab making assumptions and THEN make an assumption on who she's talking about?

She literally quoted pinged me saying 'mind blowing' and wrote:
If your metric for quality products is 'mind-blowing' it's a wonder you play anything.

I'm guessing you have a more reasonable idea of who she was really talking about?

Also, also, it being a good 3rd person open world shooter with a fairly compelling story sounds pretty damn good in my opinion.

You have an opinion? That's great.
My opinion is that it's just alright.

See how that works?
We don't ask

Who's we? Speak for yourself.

We don't ask because your statement is as much an opinion as any other one you have on the subject matter. It tells us exactly what you think. "It's alright, nothing mind-blowing". That's not some kind of vague statement that demands clarification, nor does the double down on it 'not being mind-blowing'. I read what was right in front of me and used that plus historical context to come to the educated assumption that you're not super fond of the game.

Not fond enough to call it mind blowing, but you assumed that meant I didn't think it was a quality product and you were wrong. I don't what to tell you.

Maybe I'll be interested in what you think if you weren't so abrasive about it all the time.

Asking me what I think is just my advice for you to stop interpreting me incorrectly, you can take it or not.

No, it was me making a comment about video games as a whole, dude.

Well when you say 'It's a wonder you play anything' one might think you are talking about them specifically, shocking I know.

I don't think video games do much mind blowing things in general.

Cool, I and some other people do.

It's weird that 'mind-blowing' is your choice of words for this particular game unless it's a callback to your whole mockery over horse dicks from a couple pages ago in which case well done on the running gag.

This is a forum for writers, every now and again you might come across people who use adjectives that are more flamboyant or grandiose than what you use personally. Again this could have been covered if you asked.

And also my commentary on video game reception goes beyond this thread as does yours. I've spoken with and seen people and reviewers on and offline who would use 'mind blowing' or 'breath-taking' to describe a highly anticipated rockstar game. I definitely saw people say that about Breath of the Wild, Persona 5, Witcher 3 etc. I dont think my comment on possible reception of RDR2 was misplaced.

It wasn't some aggressive takedown or comment on your tastes in video games

Only because I had the foresight to not talk about Huniepop.

For the record I do think RDR2 is a quality game with a lot of polish. Just like the first one. But just like the first one, I think that it doesn't deserve the adoration it is getting for being a good 3rd person open world shooter with a fairly compelling story. It's alright but its not mind-blowing.
Halloween never needed sequels. This is why the best films are rhe ones that emulate the first the best.

Good thing it wasn't, then. But here, let's break this down, shall we?

You can see how your repeated use of that specific turn as well as your established apathy towards the game and its hype cycle might lead one to the assumption

I can see how someone who makes assumptions might make an assumption, but that doesnt really tell you anything about what I think, because you didnt ask. You cold read and got it wrong.

My metric for quality products isnt mind blowing. Battlefield 1 is a quality game but it doesnt blow my mind. If you want to know more about what I think, try asking next time.

And saying 'its a wonder you play anything' inplies you are shocked at the idea that I play games that I dont consider quality. But thats only based on the wrong assumption that mindblowing=quality.

Youre bad at sophistry but youre even worst at mind reading.

Maybe decaf is the answer.

This doesn't even make sense as a shitpost.

1. I don't know what voice in your head told you that was my metric because it sure as hell wasn't mine.

2. How would I know it was nothing special if I didn't play it?

Have an espresso and take another whack.

Yeah, but Red Dead 2 is great.

Great at being nothing mind-blowing yeah.
