Bio

A way out west there was a fella, fella I want to tell you about. Fella by the name of Don. At least, that was the handle his lovin' parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. This Donald, he called himself the Dude. Now, Dude. That's a name no one would self-apply where I come from. But then, there was a lot about the Dude that didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. But then again, maybe that's why I found the guy s'durned innarestin'.

Sometimes there's a man--I won't say a hee-ro, 'cause what's a hee-ro?--but sometimes... there's a man.

And I'm talkin' about the Dude here--sometimes there's a man who, wal, he's the man for his time'n place. He fits right in there--and that's the Dude.

@Isengrim Sounds good.

I was also considering something along the idea of what @bakugou is thinking, aka the infiltration/reconnaisance/spy type, but I'm more than happy with her taking it.

In which case I'd really like to play the other character you mentioned, a loremaster who could be the one who knows what to salvage and sell, aka play as the silver-tongued barterer/politician role, maybe even act as the captain's bureaucratic representative/over-the-shoulder pundit?

Otherwise I could also take the now open Master Gunner slot if nobody else wants it, but I'm sure somebody else will want to play it.
gar... the day it's active all the roles get filled up. Still very interested, but I don't want to play a simple crewmate/cabin boy. I'll think of some potential character roles that could fit with this group, or perhaps even an antagonist that could come in to the picture with his own ship every now and then as an "in-and-out" character.

EDIT: perhaps a mystic/sightseer that acts as the ship's spiritual guide/compass?
@Gnar The Missing LinkAre Spartans our superiors or is it the other way around? I was assuming it was the latter but now I'm not sure, since I assumed they were more just like infantry.
@vietmykeYes Greg is definitely the typical stereotype, but he'll have some unique qualities of his own. Though I wouldn't go as far as to say he's snarky or super sassy or anything like that

I didn't extend more on the backstory than I thought was really necessary, as I find it more fun having the little details revealed as the characters go along the story. Such as the Mother Hen stuff; there's tidbits here and there in the skills section but I'm not sure what else to really add to what's already been stated without getting into excessive detail.

Wasn't really sure what to put in regards to 'blood magic', its just a filler name really for the equivalent of whatever 'dark' magic is in this universe. And I put him as novice just because there wasn't a lower skill level to place it under, but I was hoping down the line he may be able to develop it slightly. Could make things more interesting for the other magic users dealing with a character who wants to use magic in a way that society deems as taboo.

I'll make the changes regarding the dagger. As for the mask, it's simply there as a prop that could later turn into a potential plot device. I'm just as fine with it not being there, I was thinking more along the lines of the thief/bandit trope.
@RaijinslayerBecause Ian as a character is already super invasive of characters (not saying its a bad thing, its just a trait). This is just an extremely powerful tool for him to further act on such inquiries/mouth raping. It's kind of like Korie's OP "I can read your character sheets-- I mean, personal files, but you guys can't neenerneenerneener" spell but even more useful.

It's really only an issue if you abuse the power.
@Gnar The Missing Link
Have you seen Daredevil? That's what it reminded me of. He could essentially become a human lie detector. And on a character like Ian!? That's a troubling thought. But whatever, it will just make things more interesting.
Ant was motionless, looking practically dead in his slumber. One could probably safely assume he was, if it weren't for his snoring. His dreams were a pleasant enough escape from his current circumstance... surfing through the stars on a massive guitar, jamming death metal on another as it shot lasers at impeding asteroids. Something like that, anyway, until--

--"BLUH!" He grunted out loud enough for everyone to hear, half from shock and half from the sudden weight on his midsection. He was half-awake now... still not exactly sure what he was looking at. It was round, white, and covered in fur. If Ant hadn't known better, it looked like a living snowball had taken refuge on him.

Still laying down, perplexed and just staring at the thing, one of the resident meatbags walked over to Ant and poked him. Ant just averted his gaze slowly from the cat to the neanderthal. What in the everliving fuck is going on? "Yes, hello there. Normally, human beings use salutations."

"Cadet, you have a stray white kitten sleeping on you. I request you dispose of it immediately."

Ant then brought his gaze slowly back on the... kitten. Kit-tan? The word was foreign. Ant sat up, grabbing the cat and holding it up. He and the thing had a long stare... it seemed to be uncaring in its gaze, being half-awake itself. But there was an immediate spark in Ant's mind... if the others would be so useless in finding answers, perhaps he could form an alliance with this thing.

Ant put the cat back into his lap, now that he was sitting upright, and the thing proceeded to get comfortable once again. "You can dispose that demand up your rectum, private. I have uses for this creature."
A kitten!? Ferk yeah!

It's like they knew Ant has a weak side for cats... is this some sort of intricate lure by the commandants to keep Antwon satiated?

ALSO... yeah, idk if I like the sound of Ian's character being able to detect heartbeats. Everything else seems okay, though it's odd that they're basically upgrading him. Would probably give Ant ideas of his own to retaliate for cool cyborg parts.

Very excited about this RP so far, especially after seeing this potential team form. Seems like a good group.

EDIT: Changed "blood magic" to officially "ritualism" (though Hen and Greg will still know it as 'blood magic'), after checking out some other CSs in your advanced section, to keep the concept tidy with the universe. Also made the other recommended changes and added a slight bit more to the backstory... but like I said, I would prefer not going beyond the necessary info just for the sake of keeping the fun of discovery. There is not much more to tell of Hen than what is further described/elaborated in the skills section without getting redundant. Again, the mask is simply "there" if such a plot device, either for just him or the rest of the characters, could prove useful. Likewise, the dagger and Hen's shortly mentioned cult could also become something larger down the line.
Interested. I'll see if I can get a CS up by tonight or tomorrow. I will most likely go for a thief/barterer role who favors using charisma over actually fighting.
