The bottle of apple juice lied to me, and was actually orange juice. I see now that I can trust no one.

The aforementioned bard went by the name of Renria, and she was known to often drop by unexpected in this inn and sing of her exploits, seeking coin. At the moment she was singing the tale of "Renria the Halfling versus the Thousand Giants" a gripping saga starring herself, of course, and telling of the time that she defeated 1000 giants with nothing but a loaf of bread. Maybe it was a bit of an exaggeration, and there were only 10 of them, and they were dogs, not giants, but nobody here needed to know that.
@Mr_pink Are you fine with it if I have Kannet encounter Zax in my first post?
After we've secured the escape route, will we escape immediately or keep fighting as long as we can while in movement range of escape? The second is much riskier, but what I typically do on escape levels in strategy games to maximize XP gain
Habit will probably be in front of the throne room next "turn"
I got Radiant Dawn at Gamestop, and they've been sending me so many e-mails since then asking me to sell it back to them, since so many people want it.
"No! Never! My precious..."
Ironically, while Gamestop was asking me to sell the game back to them for $40, the store that was directly across from the Gamestop at our mall had a few copies on sale for $20, I could have made a huge profit if I wanted to.
Only two archers stood guarding the vault of Grado Keep, trying to stay calm by discussing the local politics- not a very effective tactic, mind you, as the extent of said politics was pretty much "we are being invaded and are all going to die". Still, they managed to distract themselves enough that neither was aware of the sharply dressed man who dropped into their midst.
"Archers, at the ready!" Habit barked the command in such a way that it dripped with confident authority, necessary, as he had learned, for any ruse. As the nervous archers snapped to attention, habitually saluting, Habit knew that he had them right where he wanted them. Examining them closer now, he discovered that neither was female, despite their daintiness, and was both annoyed and relieved at this revelation. He would have hated to have been distracted by his mission by his flirtatious habit, but still... Habit could never meet too many women.
"I bring you the latest orders from Rioga himself," Habit had heard gossip in passing that the Emperor of Grado would be holding some secret meeting at this time, which he knew would only add to the seeming legitimacy of his message, "you are to report to the throne room at once to assist in its defense. The Emperor's life is far more important than a few tokens of wealth, and it is all of our duties to prioritize accordingly. Do you understand?"
The terrified archers nodded and rushed down the stairs, glad to get away from this sudden, commanding presence...
Habit snickered as soon as the idiot archers were out of range of hearing. He could hardly believe they had actually fallen for it. Of course, he had practiced the ruse a thousand times, and his appearance suggested nothing of a Jehannan thief, but still, he had heard that the forces of Grado would be more disciplined than this. Ah well, that was the Emperor's problem, not his. His problem was finding that accursed stone and getting it out of the castle before some jumpy soldier ran him through. Absentmindedly whistling, he set to work on the chest, his lovely notes reaching a crescendo as his lockpick found the sweet-spot on each of the three chests, popping them wide open. Inside were... a vulnerary, an iron axe, and a mend. All worthless garbage, and Habit had no idea why the Emperor would see fit to put them in chests, instead of maybe a sewer. Still, waste not, want not, Habit was sure that he could get a good price for these somewhere, and so he stashed them away in his deceptively large pockets. Sighing, he began to climb the wall again through which he'd enter, setting his sights on the throne room. He'd really hoped he wouldn't have to head over there to search for the stone, but his job was nothing if not dangerous.

Much better :3
Jo'Resfo was happily strumming his lute as the party approached the gate, trying to block out the nasty, discordant sounds that always seemed to be spilling from their Dunmer's mouth. The young Khajiit hated negativity, and always had, always trying to spread his optimism to all he encountered, but had long since given up on Zanvon. Still, he was very surprised and almost dismayed when the Dunmer's spurts of insults were replaced with spurts of blood.
"Oh no, poor Zanvon," he exclaimed it with an almost-believable level of anguish, then, much more quietly added, "If only there was something we could do to help him..."
Jo'Resfo was conflicted for the first time in his life about healing an ally, but thankfully he would not be forced to reveal his position on the matter, for his attention was soon occupied with the approaching bandits. They didn't seem friendly at all, but Jo'Resfo prided himself in not judging others. Still, as he saw his companions preparing for battle and heard the bandit leader ordering their deaths, he supposed that maybe, just maybe, it couldn't hurt to be prepared, just in case these bandits might actually be planning to attack. Using one hand to cast ebony flesh on himself and the other to trade his lute for his blade, he entered a novice combat stance, hoping to be quick enough to parry their blows, and perhaps dissuade their attackers with his honeyed tongue.
"Gentlemen, gentlemen, is all of this violence truly necessary? Would it not be much more enjoyable and much less dangerous for all of us if we settled down and talked out our differences over a meal instead? I have been told that I am quite the cook."
I used a random number generator and a list of weapons and items (and their rarities) in Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn and came up with items for the five chests:
Top left chest: Secret Book
Left vault chest: Mend
Middle vault chest: Bronze Axe
Right vault chest: Purge
Top right chest: Venin Bow
Does that sound reasonable to you, or would you rather decide what is in them?
@Draconfound If you want to have a faster conversation, you could PM me short pieces and I'll reply as I see it and then you could post the full thing. I mean, we'd be able to have more answers and returns if we do it that way, but obviously that only works in private conversations and so. Posting your half IC and then I post the answers work as well, but it will definitely take longer.

If you wish to control the conversation yourself you could probably control them yourself, but I would suppose that doesn't get the same response and feeling as actually talking with me would do.

*is sitting on nails hoping nobody tries to recruit nameless individuals, because that'd be totally turn into way too many way too fast, since I'd have to give them all character and such. There's already been random naming of people who are supposed to be nameless... XD*

I might just choose the third option, but I'd still like you to make sure it is realistic. How likely do you think it would be that Habit could convince the archers that he is a castle servant and was sent to deliver a message to them that they were required to go help defend the throne room while the servant (Habit) evacuates the treasure?
