Kingdom Building split into two hiders, Kingdom Building and Ruling a Kingdom, more information added to both groups.

Maps are being worked on, I have one mostly done and my goal is to complete a few more today. After that's done we can pretty much get started in the IC. I'll just need to come up with a way for you to all to establish a party and be in this region and figure out how exactly combat will work in Post form.

Edit #1: I'm trying to come up with a post format that works best for KoK. It might take some experimenting to see what looks good but I'm thinking of something along these lines...

I ready my sword, both hands on the hilt, held out straight in front of me. The base of the sword in front of my core, the tip of the blade pointing just under my sight of the creature. I had never encountered a Dyrk before, they were not native to the island I grew up on, but I had heard tale of ambitious adventurers setting foot on Kohyee only to die in the first few days to the beast that stand before me. I took a deep breath, inhale. One, two, three. Exhale. Now!



I run towards the beast turning my waist to the left and pulling my blade to the side before thrusting it forward. But the beast it too quick. The Dyrk hops to its right and I step where it once was.

That should work but if it doesn't we can tweak it. With that being said two things...

1) Would you prefer guild dice for roll results or discord? I'm fine with either though I hear the guild's dice has its limits.

2) We will be starting with close quarters combat rules, which in KoK means there is no need to track range on weapons or how far your character can move in a single turn. Those details will be added at a later date after the game is in a more stable position.

Edit #2: It's going to be late before I have the maps ready but here's a preview of one of them so far :)

2 post and 2 either way, post it is! I thought as much but I figured I'd ask since most of us are on Discord now and could have gone that way. Post works though (and may attract new people :D )

Edit #1: Spent hours on the phone and then online with Health Insurance stuff. Still have work to do on the Bestiary to make creatures have roll based attacks and that's nearly done but I haven't even touch maps for you guys. Will do that as soon as I can.

Edit #2: Bestiary updated...
  • Roll based damage added to all attacks
  • Root changed from lasting 1 turn to 2, but given health so that it can be destroyed prior
  • Creatures do not have their Pierce Resist and Stun resist based on Fortitude, instead they are separate so that Pierce damage focused players will have certain creatures they do best against and Stun focused players will have creatures they do best against
  • Wasp description changed from saying they can be scorched to being killed by fire, that way it is clearer to players they can burn the wasp rather than depend on the Scorch Beetle to do so

Glad to have you, though I just finished deleting your Role Sheet file haha. I'll undo that and add you back to the party. If you ever get busy though I'm designing the game so you will slowly generate experience while afk so you can always come back later. Just try to let your party know so they don't wait for a post that isn't coming.

Edit #2: Added damage types to the op, with the removal of the Draken's Fire Resitance skill I went ahead and made resistances and such non existent. You'll see below how elements will work in KoK.



Alright cool, I'll add him to the list. Only thing I didn't get was the outfit but that doesn't matter gameplay wise so he's good to go :D Good to have a communicator too.

That concludes the party for now unless any of you want to invite friends. I'm wrapping up some creature work and such now, I'll work on some maps tonight so we can get started tomorrow if you all are ready.

Yeah, I don't know if that will be balanced or not in the end as some Roles will likely have more skills than others but it's what I have for now.

Edit #1: Fixed a typo, Elfein's gain 10% health per turn not just 10. That way it scales. Might also change Draken's skill as it kind of sucks.

In other knew got a message from manapool, he won't be able to join us so we're down a member but that's fine I'll try to balance encounters based on the party size whatever it is.

Edit #2: Changed Draken skill to something more useful, same name though.

Race Passive Abillity
Hot Scales - A Draken's scales are hard and spark like flint, strikes against a Draken's scales can be used to ignite flammable objects.

So basically you could set someone aflame if they're covered in oil or if there's a flammable gas nearby. Could be taken advantage of either from nature or by purchasing/crafting oil bombs (will be making craftable items a thing at a later date)
