Name: Adrian Ashford
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Appearance:
Adrian dresses in light, non-restrictive clothing, favoring bright colors. His blonde hair hangs down to his ears on the sides, but he keeps it cut shorter in front, so that it barely hits the tops of his blue eyes.
Height: 6'2"
Skills: Sword and Shield Combat - Advanced, Hand-to-Hand Combat - Intermediate, Tracking - Beginner, Camping - Intermediate, Small-Unit Tactics - Master
History: Adrian isn't a master bladesman or a high-ranking Templar from an influential family. No, he's at the Citadel because he earned the posting with something more valuable than swordplay; intelligence. Even if the organization pretty much runs on nepotism, a pattern of success like Adrian's draws notice. With his almost uncanny ability to form plans on the fly, any mission that included him was at least going to have most of the team come home. There were losses, there were failures, but the young Templar would remain collected in the face of peril and make sure to make the most out of his and his troops' abilities and their situation.
Eventually, he was appointed to the Citadel guard for his ability to coordinate small-unit tactics on the fly; his skill was deemed more important to have should the Magi somehow stage a prison break than it was out in the field. The promotion was an honor, but also a hard stop to his advancement, and Adrian saw it for what it was. He couldn't earn any more advancement here; the chances of a Magi rebellion were somewhere around the same as the sky turning pure neon pink and the sun learning to tap-dance. It was a political move, but a good one; the "honor" had taken up all of the influence he'd gained over his time in the Templar forces, and he had no family influence to fall back on, so here he is, stuck guarding the most secure prison there is, rather than out there actually doing something.
Honestly, if it weren't for the explosives, this would be a great assignment for him.
Predisposition to the Magi: He mostly regards them with wariness rather than any sort of contempt; he doesn't like the idea of someone killing him with their mind.
Personality: Adrian is a dedicated individual, loyal to the Templar order, but not out of any sense of fanaticism. Rather, he's loyal to what the Templars represent; a governing body that can protect its populace from dangers. He does count Magi as a danger, because they have powers that most non-Magi can scarcely comprehend, but he doesn't hate them blindly. He tries to maintain a calm attitude in all things, so the most he works up to with something as common, relatively speaking, as a Magi is a wary respect for their abilities. His ability to maintain a calm demeanor and his intuitive grasp of how individuals react to outside forces are what gives him his gift for tactics.
