Oh he's been accepted, don't worry...

Lavender rolled her eyes and hoped this wouldn't lead to another "my house is better than your house" discussion.
She'd only been a conscious part of the wizarding world for a few hours, and she was already getting fed up with this class struggle. Apparently muggles and wizards weren't that different after all.
She shrugged and said "My dad was in Hufflepuff, my mother in Ravenclaw. I have no preference, really. I'm just going to trust that whoever or whatever sorts us into our houses knows what they are doing."She smiled at Jay and gazed at the snake in the boy's lap. "That really is a beauty. Her name suits her. She sparkles like a jewel." She turned to April, who had become restless in her cage when the snake had revealed itself. She put one finger through the bars and stroked the bird's head while reaching for her last cauldron cake with her other hand. As she struggled to open the package, the bird recognized the cake and nipped at her finger. Lavender quickly pulled back her hand and offered the bird another piece of cake. April glanced at the snake for another few seconds, accepted the food and nibbled it. Lavender smiled and turned her attention back to the conversation around her.

Lavender looked at the boy standing in the doorway. She started to say "Of course, there's..." when she glimpsed the snake's head peering out from underneath his sweater. "Oh my is that a snake? Is that safe? Oh wow. It's a beauty, though!" Lavender couldn't help it, she leaned forward to get a better look at the marvellous creature.
"You're more than welcome to sit down, there's still room. That is, if the others don't mind." Lavender looked around at the others in her compartment and hoped nobody would object.

Amaron merely nodded in reply when Revan ordered him to take care of the horses.
Grabbing his own horse and Revan's by the reins, he turned towards the guard Revan had been speaking to while entering the inn.
"Excuse me, sir, could you direct me to the stables?" His innocent question distracted the guard and prevented him from following Revan, though Amaron did not feel the guard had intended to do so. Anyway. The guard pointed over his shoulder, and Amaron led the two horses away. He saw a few others follow Revan into the inn and caught a glimpse of Tanneth heading off to find the medic. Amaron whistled softly. The horses perked up their ears and followed him towards the stables. Amaron smiled. He had always had a way with animals, and horses in particular. He turned a corner and almost bumped into a stable boy. "Sorry about that!" Amaron flinched and took a quick step back. The stable boy shrugged and looked at the horses that were following Amaron. He followed the boy's glare and said "Yeah, any chance you can show me where I can put these guys? They've had a long day, like the rest of us. A good rub-down and some fresh hay would do them a world of good."

Amaron followed the stable boy down a short path, and into the stables. A number of people were working there, and it didn't take long before all the horses were tucked away, chewing on fresh hay and drinking water while getting the rub down of their lives. Amaron watched for a while, making sure all horses were well looked after before tending to his own horse. The repetitive, almost hypnotic strokes calmed his mind and slowly but surely, the images of the battle faded to the back of his mind. When he felt in control of his own self again, and was sure that all of the horses were calming down under the capable hands of the stable boys, Amaron returned to the Prancing Pony. Either Revan would have more orders, or there'd be food and a chance to rest. All were welcome after a day like today.
Thanks! Was enjoying the story line so far.
Will post this weekend, I promise! Should have time on the train tomorrow... lol

work is killer busy, and I've been sick as hell for a month now...

oh dang... working on it...
There was a distinct lull in the conversation, and Lavender saw Brynn looking at herself and the others. They all seemed at a loss for something to say. Just when Lavender thought things were going to get really awkward, the door to their compartment opened and a woman appeared in the opening. "Anything of the trolley, dears" She said, while pointing over her shoulder to a trolley filled with the most amazing candy and sweets.

Lavender got up to take a look. She recognized some of the names from her trip to Diagon Alley and smiled in relief. "I'd like some chocolate frogs, please, and a few cauldron cakes. Oh and a licorice wand." Lavender also picked something to drink and, on a whim, a packet of something called Every Flavour Beans. She paid the witch, smiled at her and returned to her seat. She opened one of the cauldron cakes, gave April a piece and started nibbling the rest.

Sitting there, nibbling her cauldron cake, Lavender suddenly felt out of place again. Being a full blood witch meant she didn't belong to the Muggle world. But having been raised by muggles, she didn't know whether she belonged to the Wizard world either. What if that was her future, never quite fitting in, always being too little this, or too much that... Always being torn between worlds. Being on her way to Hogwarts meant she was missing home, but at home she'd been looking forward to going to Hogwarts. Did the others feel the same way, was she simply anxious because she was living away from home for the first time? Or was she being torn apart by two different worlds? Could there be room in her life for both worlds? Could she simply decide that for herself? Lavender smiled as she remembered her parents' reaction to all this. They had been so okay with all of it, had they always known? Perhaps there had been room for both worlds all this time, without Lavender knowing about them.
This realisation changed everything for Lavender. She suddenly realised she had the chance to design her own life, and decide exactly how much of each world she'd include to make herself the best version of Lavender James she could be.

Smiling to herself, beaming with this revelation, Lavender suddenly realised she was still in muggle clothes. Her robes were in the bag she had placed in the luggage rack above her head. The instructions had been clear: put one set of robes in your hand luggage and put everything else in your trunk. Lavender waited for everyone to complete their transactions with the trolley witch before asking: "Is there like an announcement about changing and what time we'll be arriving, or what? When do we have to put our robes on?"

Nope, I guess not... been waiting ...

moved the trolley witch over to our compartment, just read it as if she came to us when she was done with you guys.
