That's honestly a very close second-place for me. I'm honestly getting pretty tired of this weirdly Puritanical attitude when it comes to costume design-- I can see her belly-button and her limbs, oh Heavens to Betsy! I don't particularly want to see Kara flying around dressed like Vampirella, but I don't think it's out of character for an attractive young woman to wear a costume that accentuates the fact that she's an attractive young woman.

My only issue with it is when artists -- including Churchill, whom I'm praising here -- exaggerate the proportions such that the crop top begins one nanometer below the breasts and the skirt is literally only wide enough to cover a bikini bottom. There is a difference between attractive young woman shows off toit abs and something that looks like an outfit from the sort of media that Greg Land likes to trace.
HOT TAKE ALERT: Moving sucks. Don't ever do it.

I'm surrounded by boxes, but at least my computer is set up. Thus, I will try to find time between unpacking to chip away at my next post.

We're talking best costumes, eh? Well, I suppose my opinionated ass can chime in.

MORE TO COME... if I feel like it.

You still teaching?

Nah, I've given up on any pretense of being a respectable, successful adult at this point.
Just a heads-up: I'll be moving this weekend, so the next few days are going to be unproductive on the writing front. Consequently, I may be a few days past the two-week mark when I finally get this post through. Bright side: Other than unpacking, I'll have little else to do next week besides write (seeing as I don't start work again until the 1st).

I just think the movie takes a step up cinematically all around. I love the Avengers, but it looks like a TV movie at times. Granted that’s a negative I ha e about Phase 1 MCU in general.

Yeah... cinematography's never been Marvel's strong suit, and Avengers is particularly flat. Plus, that middle act is a real slog on repeat viewings; you're like, "Can we just blow up the Helicarrier already?"
I think Age of Ultron is waaaaay better than Avengers. That’s my super hero movie hot take

*low whistle*

This take is so spicy that my shits are gonna hurt for a week.

But I also fucking love AoU and can't stand the general consensus against it. I lived through the "What were you expecting, yellow spandex?" days, so I won't apologize for getting hype about watching the Avengers fighting an army of killer robots on a floating city that's been turned into an asteroid! That's comics af.
Marvel tickled my balls with that dope 60s theme remix over the opening credits, but then they chickened out and did an original theme for Homecoming. (Which I like well enough, but c'mon... Just do the real thing.)

That whole soundtrack, though. My little brother and I were talking one time and the subject of "nu metal" came up and wanted to know what defined it. I just said that anyone who was on that soundtrack was nu metal.

I remember a time when I thought that and the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack were the height of musical achievement.
I unabashedly enjoy Ben Affleck's Daredevil. I know it's during the bad Ben Affleck years, but I thought he actually played the part pretty well. We've already discussed how awesome Michael Clarke Duncan's Kingpin was, I love Jon Favreau's take on Foggy, and Joe Pantoliano is who I've seen as Ben Urich ever since. Jennifer Garner's performance isn't... the strongest, let's say, but I bought the chemistry, and the dumbest scene -- the schoolyard fight -- at least has enjoyable choreography to compensate for the WTFness.

And who could forget: WAKE ME UP! (Wake me up inside.) I CAN'T WAKE UP! (Wake me up inside.) SAAAAAVE ME!
I'm sorry, I seem to have stumbled into the wrong thread. If anyone could point me towards Ultimate One Universe: Year One, that'd be swell!
