Kokai Ekirei lay amongst the branches of a tree in the forest of Hi no Kuni, eating a banana as he contemplated the training session. Why did I agree to teach him? I don't need anymore work on my plate, so why didn't I just walk away? Kokai shrugged and tossed his peel away from him. It was that chakra. It was the strongest I had ever seen from a boy like him. There was that other signiture watching from the window, but that could have been anybody; Konoha is filled with strong Shinobi. No, there was more to this boy.
As Ekirei went to grab another banana from the bunch he had brought with him, he heard heavy breathing below him. "I'm here Kokai-Sensei!", shouted a voice from below him. Well, thought Kokai, I guess this is my cue.
Grabbing the bananas with his left hand, Kokai swung his legs over the branch he had been lazing on. Pushing off, he fell down to the forest floor. Landing on his feet with a thud, Kokai immediately regretted his choice of entrance. However, he had to make an impression with the boy, and merely nodded at the boy.
"I see you have taken up my offer, Kota-kun. I am glad for it." Placing the bananas on the ground, Kokai looked around the Training Ground. It was a relatively clear spot of land, a flat-grassy plain around the length of a football field. He had landed on the perimeter of the area, so he walked over to lean by the tree he had been sitting in. Motioning to Kota to come sit by him, Kokai began his test.
"First, Kota, you must answer a question." Looking out over the plain, Kokai continued. "For everyone, there is a reason for life. A goal. Something that picks you up out of bed in the morning." Now, Kokai looked at Kota. "But there are some who do not see their dream become a reality. I have a dream, and I have killed dozens of others with dreams just like mine. And, if need be, I will die for my dream."
Kokai held his gaze on Kota, studying the boy. "Tell me, Kota. What is your dream?"
